My story with God
Hi my name is Luiza, I grew up in a Christian family, and have always believed in God. However I had never officially asked Jesus to come in to my life. A few months ago I realized deep in my heart that, this is not the end this life is just temporary journey. I realized I need a savior so, without doing any kind of intellectual research or anything about Jesus and the New Testament I somehow new that he was the way. I asked Him to come in to my life and to reveal him self to me. After this I started to get bombarded with doubts about Jesus him self, about the new testament if it's true or not. Ever since then I've been trying to fight my doubts, by researching and trying to find answers. However I know in my heart that Jesus is the only way, I'm not sure if I feel this way because I'm scared that if I don't believe in Him I'm going to Hell.

I have probably asked God, to come into my life a million times. How do I make sure he is in me? i want to feel at peace and right now I have anxiety and fear not knowing If I have him or not.

I want to be believe and be convinced so desperately.
Can anyone help me please?

Thank you so much.
Luiza

dear beloved sister...i feel your pain when it comes to dealing with fear. If you go to my page you can read my story with God and how He delivered me from anxiety and fear.

You are in a good place ....please continue to reach out for help from this very loving caring community.

I would just like to leave you with some scripture:
    Daniel 6:10-23
10 But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.

11 The officials went together to Daniel's house and found him praying and asking for God's help.

12 So they went back to the king and reminded him about his law. "Did you not sign a law that for the next thirty days anyone who prays to anyone, divine or human--except to Your Majesty--will be thrown to the lions?" "Yes," the king replied, "that decision stands; it is a law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be revoked."

13 Then they told the king, "That man Daniel, one of the captives from Judah, is paying no attention to you or your law. He still prays to his God three times a day."

14 Hearing this, the king was very angry with himself for signing the law, and he tried to find a way to save Daniel. He spent the rest of the day looking for a way to get Daniel out of this predicament.

15 In the evening the men went together to the king and said, "Your Majesty knows that according to the law of the Medes and the Persians, no law that the king signs can be changed."

16 So at last the king gave orders for Daniel to be arrested and thrown into the den of lions. The king said to him, "May your God, whom you worship continually, rescue you."

17 A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den. The king sealed the stone with his own royal seal and the seals of his nobles, so that no one could rescue Daniel from the lions.

18 Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night fasting. He refused his usual entertainment and couldn't sleep at all that night.

19 Very early the next morning, the king hurried out to the lions' den.

20 When he got there, he called out in anguish, "Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you worship continually, able to rescue you from the lions?"

21 Daniel answered, "Long live the king!

22 My God sent his angel to shut the lions' mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty."

23 The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him because he had trusted in his God.

---long story short, Daniel continued to pray because he could not look to the king for the guidance and strength that he needed during this difficult time. Only God could provide what he really needed. Pray regularly...no matter what. Prayer is your lifeline to God.

Once again, thanks for joining TheNET. I hope you make lots of good friends here and keep growing in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord.

I look forward to seeing you around...
    God Bless!

    Hi Luiza,
I am reading a great Christian book right now. It is called 'Having a Mary Spirit--Allowing God to change us from the inside out.' It is great, I have been studying it with the bible during a book club/prayer group i attend. If you do read it, i would recommend that you study it with God's Word amongst godly friends and/or family. Read 1 chapter per week to allow yourself to really 'live it out'. Above all else...Stay in God's Word.

    Hello Luiza!!!
    Welcome! How are you?
Im Paige, another moderator here on theNet. I see that you already have good friends, and you just got here!!! What a blessing right? You willlove it here. This place has been a total God send for me. It is a great place to come to be encouraged, supported, and loved while you walk in Him and with Him daily. I tell you I need it 24/7!!!
I am a child of the High God. and so are you. I see that its hard for yu to "feel" that you are saved, well guess what, ME TOO. But as I have read over and over and heard over an over that our feelings dont matter. God is holy and when He promiises that those who come to Him are free, and "Free indeed". Its that simple that when we come to Christ, He says "It is Finished!". God cannot change His mind on us. he died for us "once and for all".
I know all this is hard to believe but we must my dear. Believe me that when I "think " that I have it all together and i totally know God, and what He is doing, I miserably fail when He humbles me. He doesnt want us proud and lofty in Him. He wants us to lean on Him, to hang on to His garment in faith. "if we have faith as little as a mustard seed, we can move mountains" Jesus said. That doesnt mean we can literally "move mountains from the earth". What it means is that we can destroy those negative "feelings" and emotions that destoy us an all the peace we can have in HIm. Make sense?
Feelings cannot be trusted. We are "finite" individuals. Christ in infinate. We are limited in our abilities, but God is holy and is not limited at all. Its too hard to comprehend, but Hes God right? God is holy and blameless. He cannot look upon sine. But He can lovingly look at you now becaus eHe can see Jesus!!! I know, its wierd, but its Truth. "Truth will set you free"!!!!!
I struggle with depression, anxiety and many insecurities. I get mad at God sometimes that I still have all this. Im like you too, in the fact that how can I be saved if I still feel this way. Well, maybe He wants us to continue to hang on to Him because we cannot help ourselves through this! Make sense? He loves to humble me, let me tell you!!! But when I look back at my life and see where I was compared to where I am now, there is a total difference!!! Praise God!!
My precious sister!!! I know what you are going through. i have been a Christian since 2002, and I can tell you it has been quite a ride! God has done wonderful and miraculous things for me. I almost died, but He told me that it wasnt time yet. Christianity is no cake walk. The enemy will try harder to kill you and destroy you. So when you "feel" these feelings, you need to stop and rebuke that and cast those ugly demons away from you. They are just a bunch of annoying worms my dear!!! ha Ha.
Well Ill let you go now becasue I probably have totally drove you nuts with this note,(novel) so get back to me sister. I love to help you!!!
    You are loved!!!

    Hi Carla and Paige,

Thank u so much for your words of inspiration and love. I feel much better that I'm not alone in this. I'm trying to read the bible everyday and some other Christian books.
I hope that one day I am at a place where I'm confident in my faith and salvation.

Paige, you mentioned that, "how can I be saved if I still feel this way." and that is exactly how I feel. Then I think to my self, well maybe I'm not and I ask God to come in to my heart again, and again, and again. But it's very comforting to know that I'm not alone.

Thank you both again for taking the time and responding back to me.

    God Bless you both!

    Hi Donna,

Thank you so much for your comment. To be perfectly honest with you I've been struggling with my faith. I'm always in a doubt if I really believe or not and I'm always trying to make sure I believe and If I'm saved or not. I also sometimes get these blaspheme thoughts that just pop into my head. I don't know why and I'm so ashamed I don't mean them they just happen. I feel guilty and i feel like I'm never going to be forgiven.

    Thanks for your support Donna!

    Hello my sweet sister!
How are you doing? I deeply apologize for not keeping in touch with you. I guess I can be honest with you since you struggle with this as well, but I was very depressed there for a while and now Im slowly coming out of it. I felt great fear and anxiety when I realized how much change I had gone through by moving here and having a baby, and joining a new church and trying to establish new friendships and so on and so on. It all hit me at once. I have lived in this new house since July and just recently it hit me athat Im in a new season of life and I need to let the past go. I realized just how much I had been holding on to the past. The good and the bad times. I was mad at God because I hate change and I didnt feel like he was being fair by allowing all this to happen to me. But long story short, I had a hard time, and now Im seeing the light. I never was good with change. How about you? Just when you think you have "arrived" you actually get hit with something else that dramatically changes the direction of your life. I know Im where I am supposed to be, but it doesnt make it easy on me. Im sure you feel the same sometimes. I doubt God here and there too, but like everyone says, You have to trust God,believe Him and His word, pray, and focus on the Truth about who you are in Him. I tell you, it sounds simple but its hard and you go tot do it constantly it seems. Anyway, please accept my apology. I sure hope you are doing better. I know what you are going through and if any Christian is honest, they struggle too one way or the other. You are loved here, my sister! You are beautiful, loved and blessed. We are sisters in Christ, so lets stick together and get through this "bump in the road".
    God Bless You!!

    Hello my sister Paige,

I'm so glad you're feeling better. Congratulations on your baby! it's a miracle isn't it. I have two a boy and a girl, my daughter is 4 and my son is 2. Paige I too moved from CA to DE almost two years ago and the change is still really hard on me. Our whole family is back in CA, and moving here with 2 little kids was a nightmare. I went through anxiety and fear and many other things just like you. We moved here for my husbands work, and it actually didn't not work out so we are in the process of selling our house and moving back to CA. I'm happy about that, thank GOD. I think I'm just going through a spiritual mess right now, I'm just hoping and praying that God will hear and answer my prayer.
I just want to feel secure in my faith, I wish God could just slap me and tell me to snap out of it, that He's in me and I in Him and that everything is going to be OK! :)
Anyway thanks for replying back to me I appreciate it. God Bless you and your family!

    Love always, your sister Luiza

    Hello sweet sister!!
    How are you my dear?
I will pray for you. You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. Jesus said when we are free, we are free indeed!!! YOu are always saved. Now if we make bad choices, Christ forgives, but there will always be consequences for our sin. We are saved, and nothing can take that away from us. Christ said it is finished!!! Its all done girl!! Everyone has issues, and everyone has thier problems even as Christians. We are not immune from them. Christ said that we will have trouble but be encouraged, he has overcame them all. We are overcomers in Christ!!! No matter what we "feel" like it doesnt matter. Feelings are feelings, not the truth!!! That is why Gods word is soo important is because when you are depressed, down, discouraged, weak, or weary, the word is truth and it will speak truth and power into your spirit and soul and mind. Nothing can withstanfd the truth!! I have to put on the full armor of God every day or Im really going to be attacked. Ther eis also the battlefield of the Mind which is enough to discourage any Christian if they dont know how to combat that. I suffer from battles of the mind all the time but I have to stop the racing, condemnning tapes that replay over and over again, by speaking the truth to myself and giving my thoughts over to the Lord. I can create a great list of my worries, insecurities, anxieties with no problem. Im my worst enemy, but if we make an effort to write that long list of who we really are, instead of who we "think" we are, then I think healing can begin. God wishes that no one would perish but come to repentance. We are his children and he wants the best for us. He wants us to see the beautiful unique creations we are with the certain gifts and callings he has given us. No one is the "perfect" Christian. Dont even "go there" with that mentality. That will do nothing but discourage your walk thinking everyone else is a better Christian than you. Believe me, I think so all the time and it is a waste of time. If we can get our eyes off ourselves and what oneanother has or doesnt have, and focus on God and His promises and His glory,we all would get along alot better in and out of Chrisitanity. I love you sister, and I will pray faithfully for you.
    U r loved......

    Hello Dear Luiza,
I just wanted to remind you that God is way bigger than all your problems!
  • Paige Robertson

    Hello girl!
God Bless you today! How are you feeling lately? Still a little down and discouraged? Questioning? Well, I think id anyone is honest, we all do sometimes. We have those days that we feel all on fire for God, then those days where we are soo doubtful and not sure of all this "Jesus stuff", right? Hee hee, well honey, we are flesh nad finite. God is holy and infinate. We have limits. God is limitless. We will never know everything. God knows all. We live in one dimension. Im Christ has many dimensions. We can only see so far. God can see everything and farther than our eyes could ever see. We age,we die. God doesnt age or grow weary, and He will never die. If we realize His immensity,His holiness,His power, and His love, then we feel a little better. I always love see God and His power through creation. Look around you. Where did all this beauty come from? Look how precious and delicate a butterflies wings are, and how spiny a porcupines body is. Look at the beautiful lily, and the large Redwood Forests. Think about that. Think of a newborn baby being formed in the womb. Look at a childs little fingers and toes. Look how natural it is for a mother to care for a child. Look at the male and female body. If you look into the body and realize all that makes up a human it is amazing. Look around you and you will only see a tidbit of His love and His power. ANY moment,ANYtime, He can come and take us away!! Lets rejoice that He is coming soon!!
I love you sister, and i understand where you are coming from. God Bless you!!

FOR I, THE LORD YOUR GOD, WILL HOLD YOUR RIGHT
HAND, SAYING TO YOU, "FEAR NOT, I WILL HELP
    YOU."
    ( ISAIAH 41:13 *NKJV )
We often face troubling times in our lives that
cause us to worry, and lose sleep. As a child of God you
have Him at your side, holding your hand, and guiding
your pathway through those times. For, THE LORD IS
    GOOD, A STRONGHOLD IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE;
AND HE KNOWS THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM.
    ( NAHUM 1:7 )
He will never abandon HIS Children, throughout
their entire lives. For He is always with us no matter
what we may face, as He further promised: WHEN YOU
    PASS THROUGH THE WATERS, I WILL BE WITH YOU;
AND THROUGH THE RIVERS,* THEY SHALL NOT
OVERFLOW YOU. WHEN YOU WALK THROUGH THE
FIRE,* YOU SHALL NOT BE BURNED, NOR SHALL
THE FLAME SCORCH YOU. ( ISAIAH 43:2 )
[*Rivers and *Fire in the verse represent difficulties in our
    lives]
Therefore, FEAR NOT, FOR I AM WITH YOU; BE NOT
DISMAYED, FOR I AM YOUR GOD. I WILL
STRENGTHEN YOU, YES, I WILL HELP YOU, I WILL
UPHOLD YOU WITH MY RIGHTEOUS RIGHT HAND.
    ( ISAIAH 41:10 )
So the next time you face troubling times, do as Jesus
said: "LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED; YOU
BELIEVE IN GOD, BELIEVE ALSO IN ME." (JOHN 14:1)
Then WHEN YOU LIE DOWN, YOU WILL NOT BE
AFRAID; YES, YOU WILL LIE DOWN AND YOUR
SLEEP WILL BE SWEET. ( PROVERBS 3:24 )
Now have a great day walking hand and hand with God,
    friend! Amen.

    I asked God…

I asked God to take away my pain
    God said, No
-it is not for me to take away,
But for you to give up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole
    God said, No
-Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience
    God said, No
-patience is a by-product of tribulations,
It isn’t granted, it is earned.
I asked God to give me happiness
    God said, No
-I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.
I asked God to make my spirit grow
    God said, No
-you must grow on your own
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life
    God said, No
-I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things
I asked God to helped me LOVE others,
as much as He loves me
    God said…..
Ahhh, finally you have the idea.

    God loves You!

    One Step At A Time

One step at a time is the best way to go
When going through life and traveling in the direction of your dreams
The best way to get ahead is the simpliest way:
Take one step at a time
    Don’t look over your shoulder
If you do, you’ll feel the weight of all your yesterdays upon you
And don’t worry about what lies ahead
By the time you get to the bend in the road or the crest of the hill
You’re going to be better and stronger than you ever were before
Just go one step at a time
    One day at a time
And you’ll find a rich, thankful life you never thought you could afford….

    LIFE'S LITTLE LESSONS...

Don't go for looks, they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile.

    There are moments in life
    when you really miss someone
that you want to pick them up
from your dreams and hug them.
Hope you dream of that someone.
Dream what you want to dream,
go where you want to go,
be what you want to be,
because you have only one life
and one chance to do all the things
    you want in life.

    May you have...
Enough happiness to make you sweet
Enough trials to make you strong
Enough sorrow to keep you human
Enough hope to make you happy
And enough money to buy gifts.

When one door of happiness closes, another opens.
But we often took so long at the closed door,
that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

The best kind of friend is the one
you could sit on a porch, swing with,
never saying a word and then walk away feeling
like that was the best conversation you've had.

It's true that we don't know
what we've got until we lose it,
but it's also true that we don't know what
we've been missing until it arrives.

Always put yourself in other's shoes.
If you feel that it hurts you,
it probably does hurt the person too.
    A careless word may kindle a strife;
A cruel word may wreck a life
A timely word may level stress
A lovely word may heal and bless.

The beginning of love is to let those we love
    be perfectly themselves and
not to twist them with our own image,
otherwise we love only the reflection
of ourselves we find in them.

    The happiest people don't necessarily
    have the best of everything,
they just make the most of everything
    that comes along the way.
Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people
before meeting the right one so that
when we finally meet the right person,
we should know how to be grateful for that gift.
It takes a minute to have a crush on someone,
an hour to like someone and a day to love someone
    - but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Happiness lies for those who cry,
    those who hurt,
    those who have searched
    and those who have tried.
For only they can appreciate the importance
of people who have touched their lives.

Love is when you take away the feeling,
    the passion, the romance
and find out you still care for that person.
A sad thing about life is that when you meet
someone who means a lot to you
only to find out in the end that it was never
bound to be and you just have to let go.

    Love starts with a smile,
    develops with a kiss
    and ends with a tear.
Love comes to those who still hope
    even though they've been disappointed,
    to those who still believe
    even though they've been betrayed,
need to love those who still love,
even though they've been hurt before.
    It hurts to love someone,
and not to be loved in return
but what is most painful is to love someone
    and never finds the courage
to let the person know how you feel.

    The brightest future will always
be based on a forgotten past.
You can't go on well in life until you let go
of your past failures and heartaches.

    Never say goodbye when you still want to try;
    Never give up when you still feel you can take it;
Never say you don't love that person anymore
    when you can't let go.

    Giving someone all your love
is never an assurance that they'll love you back.
    Don't expect love in return,
just wait for it to grow in their hearts
    but if it doesn't,
be content it grew in yours.

There are things you love to hear
but you would never hear it from
the person whom you would like to hear it from,
but don't be deaf to hear it from the person
who says it with his heart.

When you were born, you were crying
and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life to the fullest so that when you die,
you're smiling and everyone around you is crying.

    LIVE A LOVING LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Deborah Sue Schenfeld

    Luiza,
It's not a matter of 'feeling' saved. If you have asked Jesus to be your Savior & Lord of your life, you are His. You have been born-again & His spirit is working in you. Will you always feel happy & confident? No, I'm sorry to say you will not. Life has many ups & downs. The important thing is getting to know Who God is by reading His word & praying & learning from other believers in a good church or fellowship group. If you want to do the chat thing, you can contact me. I'm on here a lot! If you just want to do comments back & forth, we can do that too! I'd rather answer your questions one at a time, than leave you bunches of scripture you may already know, okay?
  • Luiza

    Hi Deborah Sue,

I'm not sure what wrong with me. I really want to believe and know in my heart that I'm saved, but every time I read about God or hear about God I get anxiety. I feel like it's going to be impossible for me to believe and keep believing. When I see Christians around me that have faith and are at peace, I just want to have what they have. Thank you for taking time and responding to me.

Luiza, We are in a Spiritual Battle. Jesus has already won the battle, but here on earth we are still in the battle, and learning to trust in HIM completely.

Stand Strong dear Sister. THe doubts you are feeling are coming from the enemy. You need to put on your full armor daily. Eph 6:10-18.

    Your Sister in Christ, Carla

    Held by: Tracie Miles

“He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.” Psalm 18:16 (NIV)
    Devotion:

When my daughter was just a toddler, I would frequently ask her, “Do you want me to hold you?” She would promptly nod and lift up her arms. Even though her vocabulary was limited, she soon learned that anytime she wanted to be picked up, she could simply raise her arms, look at me with those big, blue eyes, and say “hold you.” It was such a precious request in her sweet little voice, and I would always oblige. Those days seem long ago, as my daughter will be starting high school this year, but these memories came to mind when I heard the song by Natalie Grant, entitled “Held.”

Years ago, my sister was diagnosed with a chronic illness. Many times since then I have found myself pleading to God for her healing, or at a minimum, for an understanding of this hardship. During one of these times of doubt and worry, the song “Held” flooded my radio speakers. The words pierced my heart, and I would pray for my sweet sister each time I heard it, as God repeatedly comforted me with Natalie’s words.

The lyrics of the song say, “Who told us we’d be rescued? What has changed and why should we be saved from nightmares? We’re asking why this happens. To us, who have died to live. It’s unfair.” You see, that is exactly how I felt. My sister loved the Lord, and I thought God should be taking better care of her. I doubted His reasons for her illness. I continually cried out to Him, questioning why she had to be sick. Why did she have to suffer? It ‘s not fair Lord!

The chorus of the song goes like this, “This is what it means to be held. How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life. And you survive. This is what it is to be loved, and to know that the promise was when everything fell, we’d be held.” Through this simple song, God reassured me that His ways are not for me to understand, but I can trust that He loves my sister, His child, and is holding her close. Every time I heard that song, my heart would flutter, and I would be gently reminded that God sees her, and loves her, despite the circumstances.

Recently, her health condition worsened, and she was scheduled for a serious surgery. I left early in the morning the day of the surgery, and headed for the hospital. I was worried, and my heart was burdened. I breathed in a heavy sigh, and turned on the radio, and what was playing? “Held.” The words washed over my soul as tears came to my eyes, and a peace came over me. I knew that song was God’s way of reminding me that He was still holding her tightly in His arms. It was only then, that I knew she would be okay. After a successful surgery and twelve hours at the hospital, I got in my car to go home, and turned on the radio – you guessed it – “Held” was playing again. God was there.

If you are like me, despite our level of faith, there are times in life when we doubt if God is really watching over us or our loved ones. We question why things happen that seem unfair. We wonder what glory He could possibly derive from painful circumstances.

It takes great faith to believe that God does understand, and He wants us to know that He is always there. A song on the radio, a note from a loved one, a smile from a stranger, a powerful sermon, an applicable Bible verse. God could use any method to reassure us of His love, and His omnipotence, and His desire is to hold you and me close to His heart. We merely need to raise up our arms, look into His eyes, and say “hold you”. He will.

Dear Lord, my heart is so burdened with worry for my loved ones. Please pull me into Your presence, and help me to feel Your arms around me. Forgive me for my doubts and lack of faith. Please help me to see how You are holding those who are hurting, and continue to reassure me of your sovereignty. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Aww, how nice to have little ones! I bet they keep you busy? I remember when mine were that small. They grow up so fast! At times I wish I could go back to those days, when a bandaid, a kiss & a hug could solve all their problems! Hug them tight & take time to receive the smashed little flowers from grubby little hands. Laugh! Have a blessed day! Debbie

Soul food for the Day: The CENTER...

The center chapter of the BIBLE is Psalm 118.. there are 594 chapters before and after Psalm 118
And if we will add this we will get 1188... in which the center verse of the BIBLE is PSALM 118:8
What is the significant of Psalm 118:8 in God's perfect will for our lives?
It is better to trust in the LORD, than to put confidence in man.-- Psalm 118:8

When things get tough, always remember faith doesn't get you around trouble..
    it gets you through it!
When you relinquish the desire to control your future you obtain happiness...

    Prayer:
Father God, bless my friend in whatever it is that you know he/she may be needing this day....
May their life be full of your peace, prosperity and power as they seek to have closer relationship with you. Amen...
