    THERE'S one thing i want to know from you- how did you get to know this site AllAboutGOD.net? and now that you are here, what are your first impressions, if any? God bless you abundantly.

    thanks for joining AllAboutGOD.net. i hope you have fun here and meet lots of friends. here's a joke for you, i found this at the forum of AAG-

    WHAT'S A CHURCH?

    A well-worn one-dollar bill and a similarly distressed twenty-dollar bill arrived at a Federal Reserve Bank to be retired. As they moved along the conveyor belt to be burned, they struck up a conversation. The twenty-dollar bill reminisced about its travels all over the country.

    "I've had a pretty good life," the twenty-dollar bill proclaimed. "Why I've been to Las Vegas and Atlantic City , the finest restaurants in New York , performances on Broadway, and even a cruise to the Caribbean "

    "Wow!" said the one-dollar bill. "You've really had an exciting life!"

    "So tell me," says the twenty-dollar bill, "where have you been throughout your lifetime?"

    The one dollar bill replies, "Oh, I've been to the Methodist Church , the Baptist Church, the Lutheran Church."

    The twenty-dollar bill interrupts, "What's a church?"

    Great lesson on love Nnabugwu. Many think of the word, "love" in such a distorted fashion especially in regards to loving God and loving other. Love is something we do more than something we feel as you have described. Also loving God is more than just something we feel. Jesus said that if we loved him we would keep His commandments. If we love Him we will have no other God's, if we love him we will not carve out idols, if we love him we love God we will not take his name in vain, If we love him we will set aside a day of rest and worship. Love is expressed in our responses to what God has ask us to do. Love Him and love others.

    We have this wonderful supernatural love in our hearts, for the love of God has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. ( Romans 5:5 )

    God's love in our hearts makes demands on us such as to forgive other, to turn the other cheek, to bless and not curse, etc.

    What a wonderful subject of study, thanks for sharing.

    In the love of Jesus

    I can testify to the power of God at work in some ones life. Some would ask what do we receive power for?
    In Acts 1:8 it says, that you will be( become ) my witnesses; We become different when we receive power,( miraculous power, might, strength )

    This power will lead us into a victorious Christian life so that we are enabled to overcome every obstacle, and our whole lives become a banner to the world around us. We saw this great power turn the world upside down in the first century Church.

    This Holy Spirit power can break every bondage in our own lives, and we can also bring freedom to others, by bringing them into a relationship with God, then they will also receive this holy Spirit power.

    Hello Nnabugwu,

    I noticed on your profile that you seemed burdened by sin; I hope this has changed since you wrote that. Certainly you sounded different in the message you just sent today. But I wanted to share these Scriptures with you:

    1 John 1:9
    "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

    Isaiah 43:25 "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more."

    Isaiah 1:18: "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."

    Psalm 103:12 "as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

    How He does this is a mystery to me, but it is a promise and so we can stand on that promise and know we are 100% accepted and loved and forgiven. :-)

    Blessings to you!
    In Christ,
    Lurana

    I would like to respond to your awesome teaching with a message I wrote. God help us to glorify the lord with our very lives.

    UNVEILING THE GLORY OF GOD IN OUR LIVES

    “Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech, and are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the end of what was fading away.
    But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains uplifted, because it is removed in Christ.
    But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
    Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
    But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.”

    ( 2 Corinthians 3:12-18 NAS )

    There is one very significant place in the Old Testament where a veil is mentioned. In Exodus chapter 34, when Moses comes down from the mountain with the Ten Commandments we are told that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.

    This was the lingering radiance of the glory of God. But when the people saw it, they were so afraid that they ran away! So, Moses put a veil over his face to hide the radiance, But whenever he entered the Lord's presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out.

    These are the events that the Apostle Paul picks up on in our reading from 2 Corinthians chapter three. In this passage Paul uses the image of the veil to make two very important points.

    First, that there is no veil between the Christian and God.
    When we come to Jesus, the veil is transferred, taken away from us, laid on Jesus, so that we can know God. The veil was our sin.

    “But your iniquities (sins) have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.” ( Isaiah 59:2 )

    Second, there should be no veil between the Christian and the world.
    The whole thrust of Paul's argument in the surrounding verses is that the Christian's duty is to show God's glory to the world.

    Moses veiled his face to hide God's glory because the people were terrified. But we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory.

    Paul uses the word "reflect" — God's glory shines on our faces, and that glory in turn is reflected to shine on the world.

    But we are not like normal mirrors. A normal mirror reflects the light, however strong, but it always remains the same, just a mirror.

    As we reflect the Lord's glory we are changed ourselves, transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory. As we gaze upon Christ we are transformed to be like him.
    The point that Paul is making is that we must not keep this transformation hidden from the world. God's glory is shone to be seen!

    “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.
    “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
    ( Matthew 5:14-16 )

    This light is not generated by us, but it is the light of God's glory reflecting in our unveiled faces and transformed lives.

    So, unlike Moses, we must lift the veil that covers our faces and hides the glory of God in our lives.
    “And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.” ( Mark 15:38 )
    We are the temple of the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of God abides in us. (1Corinthians 3:16)

    We have a responsibility to live holy, set apart lives so nothing will veil the glory of God in our lives.

    A bride at a traditional wedding will enter the church wearing a veil. As she joins the groom at the front the veil will be taken away, and the whole congregation can see how beautiful she is.
    It would be odd for her to stay veiled throughout, wouldn't it? On the day she is at her most beautiful, she wants everyone to see that beauty.

    The veil is designed to be taken away; her beauty is there to be seen. In the same way, we need to unveil our faces to show God's glory to the world.

    Some ways we veil the glory of God
    -When I am grumbling towards others I have veiled the glory of God in my life.
    -When I judge, or criticize, or gossip I have veiled the glory of God in my life.
    -When I fail to keep a promise, or fail to do the good God has prompted me to do, then I am veiling the glory of God in my life.
    -When I scowl instead of smiling, or when I am withdrawn, I am veiling the glory of God in my life.
    -When I put myself first, or am inconsiderate to others I have lowered the veil again, and hidden the work God is doing in my life.
    -When I am living in willful sin, then I am veiling the glory of God in my life.

    Conclusion
    The unveiling of the glory of God in our lives will be a shining light upon a lost and needy world. Our greatest aim should be that there is nothing in my life that will become a veil keeping the glory of God from emanating from us.

    A STEADFAST CONFIDENT HEART

    “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” ( Psalm 51:10 )

    “My heart is confident, O God. My heart is confident. I want to sing and make music.” ( Psalm 57: 7)

    “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.” ( Psalm112:7 )

    When our heart is fixed and steadfast, it is then that we have set our hearts to live in obedience to the will of the Lord. Our hearts are firm and establish and we are ready to live in full obedience to the will of God.
    Until we have a steadfast spirit within us, we will continue to go down a slippery slope in our personal life. When our hearts are fixed it is like a setting the Rutter of a a ship. Our lives will go in the direction of our hearts. We need a steadfast, fixed heart to experience confidence in our personal lives.

    “Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God;” ( 1John 3;21 )

    “This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.' ( 1John 5:14 )

    So to have a steadfast and a confident heart we need to set our hearts on living in obedience to the Lord. Having our hearts fixed is a huge commitment for us. The Word of God says that if we love him we will keep his commandments. (1John 14:15 )

    Obedience is a sure sign that our hearts are set, our hearts are fixed upon the Lord and we will be steadfast in our obedience. This is where the confidence come from. We have confidence when we know we are doing the right things. ( 1John 3:21 )

    “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” ( Hebrews 4:16 )

    So this confidence is a result of our relationship with God. We have mercy and grace.
    Mercy gets a criminal off the hook and out of jail, but GRACE pays the debt of the criminal and sets him free to enjoy the good life. For us that also means LIFE,and LIFE eternal.

    In Psalm 51:10, David was praying that his heart would become clean and also steadfast. He had set his heart on an alternate course that led him into horrible sin; immorality, deception, and murder. It wasn't until Nathan the prophet confronted him that he finally led him to reset the course of his life.

    PRAYER
    Father God you know that we as your children desire us to have a steadfast, and a confident hearts that is fixed on living in obedience to your good and perfect will.
    Help us to set our hearts in obedience to your Word. Help us not to set our heart toward sin and disobedience . As David prayed, “Create in us a steadfast heart.” Help us to fix our hearts always on living in obedience to your will. In Jesus name. Amen.

    A FAITH THAT WORKS THROUGH LOVE
    2 PETER 1: 1-9

    In 2 Peter chapter two Peter shares a some remarkable things about how to live out the Christian life. In verse three he says that Jesus has the power of God, by which He has given us everything we need to live for, and serve God. He goes on to say that we have these provisions because we know Him because Jesus called us by his glorious goodness.

    In these provisions that God has given to us contains according to verse four, “great and precious promises.” And as we shall see as we read further into chapter two that with these provisions, or gifts, that we can share in God's nature and that we won't be ruined by the world and with it's evil desires.

    Peter says that because we have these blessings that we should do our best to add some very important things to our lives. Notice the list begins with faith, then the list ends with a God kind of love.

    All these things mentioned are fruits coming forth out of our lives because of our relation with the Lord and are the fruit that the Spirit produces in our lives. (see Galatians 5:22-23 )

    Add to your faith, add goodness; that is as you are growing in your faith, to develop virtue.

    To your goodness, add knowledge; that is in exercising goodness,develop knowledge.
    “Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not
    to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
    ( 2 Timothy 2:15 )

    To your knowledge, add self-control; that is in growing in knowledge, develop self control.

    To your self-control, add patience; that is in developing self control, allow God to make you more patient.

    To your patience, add service for God; that is as we becoming more patient, we can began to serve God.

    To your service for God, add kindness for your brothers and sisters in Christ;

    And to this kindness, add love; that is while we showing kindness begin to exercise the love of God.

    “And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” ( Romans 5:5 )

    “If all these things are in you and are growing, they will help you to be useful and productive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But anyone who does not have these things cannot see clearly. He is blind and has forgotten that he was made clean from his past sins.” ( 2Peter 1:8-9 )

    As I considered this passage it really speaks to my heart that our relationship with God begins with faith, and ends up with love, from something that is a substance of things hoped for, to a having the love of God poured into our hearts to touch this hurting world through our lives.

    "Faith works through love." ( Gal. 5:6 )

    Prayer Father God help us to learn to add to our faith those things that will makes us into useful vessels for your love to touch the world through us. In Jesus name amen.

    GETTING RID OF THE HEAVY BURDENS

    There are times in our lives when we come to the end of our rope. We exhaust every option we know, we have prayed, we have sought counsel, we have done our home work, we have gone the extra mile, etc. We have done all we can do and still we have to deal with a burden that seeks to crush us.

    What do we do when we have been unemployed for months with no job in sight?
    What do we do when no matter how hard we work, the pile of debt never seems to diminish?
    What do we do when our marriage we have tried to salvage for years begins to crumble?
    What do we do when our children have rejected our faith, and rejected us in the process?

    These are very real situations that we all face, they are heavy burdens that we all find ourselves dealing
    with throughout or lives, even as Christians. What do we do?

    Come unto Jesus

    Jesus said,"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

    Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. ( John 7:37 )

    Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. ( John 6:35 )

    A song that I love says;

    Come unto Jesus, give Him your heart today;
    Come unto Jesus, let Him have His way!
    Oh, I know there are things in your life
    You think He can't forgive;
    But He'll forgive and forget, my friend,
    And show you how to live.
    Come unto Jesus, give Him your heart today;
    Come unto Jesus, let Him have His way!
    Don't you put it off my friend;
    You can't afford to wait;
    Today's the day for you,
    Soon it could be too late!
    Come unto Jesus, give Him your heart today;
    Come unto Jesus, let Him have His way!
    ( Dallas Holm, Come unto Jesus )

    "Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or
    'What will we wear for clothing?' "For the Gentiles (non-believers) eagerly seek all these things;
    for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
    But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,(rule,reign, realm)
    and all these things will be added to you.”
    ( Matthew 6:31-33 )

    We got it all wrong if we forget to keep coming to the source of life, “Jesus.”

    We can't replace him with other things, He must always stand supreme in our lives. So let us come
    unto Jesus once again and find his grace and help in our time of need.

    The following video is called, “ Forgive Me”. It is based on a Book called, “Pilgrims Progress.”

    This video really shows how the burden of sin can debilitate us, but carrying other heavy burdens even
    as Christians. They can be just as debilitating as carrying the weight of sin.

    As you view the video, ask the Lord to help you to release the heavy burden that you are caring.

    An old hymn says; “Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.”

    Jesus said. “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
    Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and
    YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
    (Matthew 11:28-30)

    PRAYER

    Father God We confess that we have come to the end of ourselves. We are at our wits end.
    We have tried and tried to deal with these burdens on our own, and we have done everything we can
    conceive of to deal with these situations.

    Forgive us for trying to deal with them on our own. We now bring our burdens
    and lay them down before you, and we trust you with them. Thank you that we are always
    welcome into your presence because of Jesus has made a way for us a way through

    His sacrifice upon the cross for us. We need to continue to come unto Jesus, we need to continue
    to lay down those burdens day by day. We need most of all to be with you Lord.

    We need to lay down the weight of sin, and every heavy burden so we can carry the weight of your
    glory into a lost world without any way to find any release from their burdens.

    In the name of Jesus we pray with thanksgiving. Amen
