Crafter, mom of growing teens, housekeeper kinda
I'm here to...
help pray for others, and share what the Lord has done/is doing in my life, in order to help others.
Interests:
Bird watching, crafting birch, quilting as a newbee, spending time in the woods, watching the lake and the weather from my cabin in the woods of Alaska, reading good books, singing for the Lord, and worshipping in praise music.
I'm passionate about...
Eagles, used to rehab and feed 22+ eagles in a remote place on an Army base. They were such fighters, and always seemed to be reaching higher, wanting to be free, wanting just to soar. I feel the eagle has a lot to teach us, and the Lord uses the eagle in many verses, and hey, maybe someday I will have my own eagle! I really wanted to be a presenter, taking a bird to the schools, churches, and sharing. But Bird TLC is more evolution based, and their scientific thinking is not for me. They don't have permits in this neck of the woods, so I cherish the time I spent with those magnificent creatures.
My story with God
I grew up in church, acted the part, and in front of others, was the good little angel. While I was sinning and living a life that would disgust the Lord. I took a Bible study called Expereincing God, and it really made me realize that I wasn't really close, just playing at church. I taught that study, then during a revival where Bailey Smith talked about the wheat and the tares, I realized I wasn't saved, or I would obey. I have always been a rebel, and when my Daddy died, I ran from God, drowned myself in partying. It took me 12 years to come home. I am not perfect, and still have several struggles, but I am closer to my Lord, and the GOOD NEWS IS THAT HE LOVES ME NO MATTER WHAT I DO, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE....That's my story.
Other stuff about me:
I live in Alaska, have 4 dogs, love birds, love my kids, who are 20 and 17 now, and worked seasonal at Hudson Air, a stressful job, but I loved being on the air field, and knowing that mountain climbers we flew up to the mountain were on Mt. McKinley, just blew me away. I love to craft, and make unique birch bark crafts, and other items, that are useful as well as decorative. I am just learning to quilt, have made 1 top and working on a twin for my niece with princesses in flannel. It's fun, but taking me forever!!! I have a lot of pain in my back and neck, most of the time, so I can only work on things a bit, but I really enjoy it.

here's a joke to welcome you here at AAG-

    WHAT'S A CHURCH?

A well-worn one-dollar bill and a similarly distressed twenty-dollar bill arrived at a Federal Reserve Bank to be retired. As they moved along the conveyor belt to be burned, they struck up a conversation. The twenty-dollar bill reminisced about its travels all over the country.

"I've had a pretty good life," the twenty-dollar bill proclaimed. "Why I've been to Las Vegas and Atlantic City , the finest restaurants in New York , performances on Broadway, and even a cruise to the Caribbean "

"Wow!" said the one-dollar bill. "You've really had an exciting life!"

"So tell me," says the twenty-dollar bill, "where have you been throughout your lifetime?"

The one dollar bill replies, "Oh, I've been to the Methodist Church , the Baptist Church, the Lutheran Church."

    The twenty-dollar bill interrupts, "What's a church?"
