My story with God

i grew up in the church and decided to give Christ control of my life when i was in high school. i struggled to know what that really looks like in every area of my life at the time and had an eating disorder when i felt pressured to be perfect. in college, i learned what it meant to have Christ have control over my mind and thoughts and i learned for the first time about spiritual warfare and the power of prayer and praying Scripture and the importance of meditating on his Word and putting on the full armor of God. i turned to boyfriends off and on over the years, and came up empty and seeking God again and then again. Every time, he's been faithful to meet me where I am. He's knows my every mistake and foul thought, but he knows me through and through and lifts me up with His encouragement every time. i've struggled with fear of people, and what they think, over what God thinks and have been so prideful in my short life- how foolish! But I praise God for helping me with my fears and anxieties because HE is freeing me up to live in love with Him. I only want to grow stronger in the Lord and not to backtrack. I feel like the Israelites; Why, why did you turn to the golden calf? Why do I? Lord, please stay close to me all the days of my life.

made it through the first year of marriage. the second year is going way better so far. i love to play with my little dog. i enjoy teaching kids at the school where i work. i enjoy writing. i'm working on a teen's christian fiction right now. i also like to read. i'm reading the hobbit for the first time. i'm a big fan of beth moore books and studies. i want to feel better connected to the church where i attend. i have very few close friends right now, and need God's help to try again.
