I praise God for His Goodness and Faithfulness to you and me and all man kind. I often meditate on this scripture and marvel at God's mercy to us and how much He loves us when the bible says that God is good to the just and unjust, how true this is my friend.

Hi Kathleen, What a great message. I am always looking for a subject to study and write on. 1 John 2:3-6 is a great place to start where many messages can be generated. The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit Of Truth, and the enemy is called the Father Of Lies. No one who claims to Have the Spirit of Truth, can not also walk in lies and deception.

It is also amazing to see in the book of 1John that john is trying to show that if some one is of the truth that there is a since of honesty that is in the persons life before God and men.

When God breathes the breath of his Spirit, everyone knows he has come. Luke, the author of Acts, writes, “Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind” (Acts 2:2). I like a different translation of this last phrase, calling it “a strong wind, a blast.”

According to this verse, God’s breath came at Pentecost with a “sound from heaven.” Luke says this sound was mighty, rushing, filling the whole atmosphere: “It filled all the house where they were sitting” (2:2).

These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God” (Revelation 14:4–5).

What is it about faith that keeps demanding of us greater testings? Why do our afflictions grow more intense, more severe, the closer we get to Christ? Just when we come through one trial that proves us faithful, our heart declaring, “Lord, I will trust you for everything,” here comes another test, increased in its intensity.

The dawn of Christianity starts with the appearance of an Angel to Mary (who would become the virgin-mother of Jesus), Joseph (Mary's espoused husband), Zacharias (the father of John the Baptist), and some shepherds from Bethlehem. Jesus' birth was quickly followed with prophecies by Simeon (a devout Jew), and Anna (a prophetess) in the temple in Jerusalem. A brilliant star also appeared, and led wise men from the east to travel and worship Jesus. As a result of the wise men's testimony, King Herod had all the children in Bethlehem 2 years and under slaughtered. Joseph, Mary, and Jesus had already left Bethlehem for Egypt at the time of the slaughter as instructed by an Angel in a dream.

King Herod died in 4 BC, which places the birth of Jesus before that time - possibly in 6 BC.

Joseph, Mary, and Jesus later returned to Nazareth, a city 25km west of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus remained until he was about 30 years old. The start of Jesus' ministry was marked by his baptism in the Jordan River by John the Baptist, who was declaring the coming of the Messiah. After his baptism, Jesus was tempted of the Devil 40 days in the wilderness, which he overcame by remembering the holy scriptures. Coming from the wilderness, Jesus returned to a synagogue in Nazareth, where he stood to read the following scripture from the Prophet Isaiah:
