Occupation:
homemaker/homeschooler/aspiring writer
I'm here to...
connect with others to whom God is everything.
Interests:
Bible study and related study, writing, reading, cooking, just being mommy and teaching. I enjoy the Bible teachers of old...C. S. Lewis, Matthew Henry, A. W. Tozer, R. A. Torrey, Jonathan Edwards and so forth as well as some from more current days.
I'm passionate about...
God, my family, learning more about Him every day and teaching others His Word. I am a homeschooling mother of nine children ages 2 to 19. They are one of my mission fields. I also ache for the state of the church. I long for Christians who are completely devoted to God to rise up, reach the lost and edify the church. It is a continuing prayer with me. I want to do mission work one day and write books that will edify the church.
My story with God
He is the reason that I live, breath, exist and the reason for all that I do.
Other stuff about me:
I am an aspiring writer of Christian non-fiction.

    Hey Anna,
Thanks for writing and asking about me. It seems all I do is work with little time for other things. I am so tired of the battle with my wife. It is not really a battle as we don't fight, but it is like I don't even exist. I'm just here. I'm struggling with whether to stay or just go ahead and end it and leave. She will be much happier without me and I can see and tell that. I can't continue to see her suffer in misery because she feels I am the cause of it all. I just don't think it is fair to her anymore. I might be wrong, but she deserve happiness and if I will never give it to her, then we need to move on. I have told myself not to leave and fight for my family for 2 and 1/2 years and it is all the same, no love or emotion at all. I even cooked her dinner wrapped it up with a not that said happy valentines day and gave her a card and gift (I left the dinner in the fridge and the goodie bag on our counter, I had to go to work) and she didn't even acknowledge it. not a thank you, it was nice I enjoyed the dinner nothing. I didn't even get a card. Same things at christmas and on my birthday in January. Nothing. I have never missed one day, never missed a birthday, anniversary anything even through all of this, but yet I am alone with her.

So sorry to rant on you, forgive me. Thanks for listening and asking about me, please continue to pray for me and I will remain fast to His word. Thanks!!!

Hi, Anna..nice to be your friend and to know other believers from other countries. My son's name is Nathan, he's in the kindergarten now. I'm curious to know how do you manage your activities while you have to pay attention to your nine children? I think you're a super mother...But in God's grace you can do your important duty:to help your children to be Christ's disciples.
  • Kerwyn

  • jhaz

No. He's is not sick. He was rushed to the hospital last Feb 19 due to mild stroke.. Then Feb 20 at exactly 5:30 in the afternoon.. He passed away due to Cardiac arrest. Thank you for praying for us..
  • Stew

I like both "The Screwtape Letters" and "Mere Christianity". They are both excellent books. What a gifted mind that C.S. Lewis had to communicate with such clarity. Did you get a chance to see the PBS series that compares C.S. Lewis against Sigmund Freud? It was quite good. It's also available as a DVD.
  • Stew

Here is the link to the PBS website where the reference to that program can be reviewed. You can browse the material there if you like prior to ordering the DVD. They put a diverse academic panel together to discuss the different views of both Lewis and Freud. Here is the web address:

    Blessings!

You don't know how much having you pray for me means. My grandmother and aunt are constantly lifting me up and pray for me daily. My grandmother has meant the world to me during all of this. She is 88 and such a remarkable woman. The songs in an email to my wife would do no good. She doesn't care about romantic things or thoughts. She insists she doesn't need these types of things. It drives me crazy to stay here and feel i am making her miserable and leeping her from happiness, but my heart won't let go and stop loving her. I just can't walk out on her and feel good about it and yet I feel I am wrong for staying and causing her unhappiness if she doesn't love me. This has been going on in her heart for years according to hwer and I really don't see it changing. Thank you for your prayers!!
  • Travis

Well, you just gave me a good chuckle!!!! I almost choked when you said your husband has his degree from Auburn. Tell him my son and I bleed Crimson as in Tide!!! We love Bama. it is indeed a small world. I can't believe you said Auburn. I take my son to as many college outings as I can. We have his picture with Brodie Croyle, Ken Stabler, Coach Shula, Coach Gottfried and many other players and coaches in other Bama sports. We have over 92 autographed items. My favorite is my 8x10 autographed picture of Coach Bryant. We also have my son with Coach Stallings. Thank you for making my day a little easier to bear. It is hard when I'm never home and when I am she won't even stay in the same room with me or my son and when I'm not home my son spends the night with her parents. It is a shame that she won't read or talk to me about any of this. There is so much she could be if she would just open up. But she has said I don't love you anymore so, what do I do? I just keep praying and hoping that she will realise that i have done everything for her over the years and never been mean to her. I've always only loved her.
  • Matthew

    ok, lol

Sorry i haven't written back before now. I just got in from mobile earlier today and just had time to check my mail. My son was sick when I left Tuesday evening and still sick when I got back today. took him to PriMed and got him checked out. He got some medicine and will be fine.

Took me forever to get in from Mobile. We left last night at 9:45 and made it only to Flomaton in 12 hours. Can you believe that? 58 miles in 12 hours. We can only work 12 hours and then they have to put another crew on the train. So, my Conductor and I rode back to montgomery in a taxi.

I love hearing you say Wetumpka. not many people know where it is!!!! This will always be my home. My wife went to Wetumpka high school (or Preppy high as we used to call them) and I went to Elmore county High (or Redneck Tech as they used to call us). It is great talking to someone that nows the area.

We both have kinfolks in Tallassee, but most of family resides in Tallapoosa County.

My son actually stays with her parents who live about a 100 yards in front of us. I think it is quite sad when he doesn't want to stay with her when I'm gone, but I have a problem. He always seems to be here with me when I'm home. He's been sick for 3 days, she's been home everynight, but who took him to the doctor today when they got in from work? I just don't understand it all. Oh, well, thanks for your email and if it takes me a day or two to respond always know that I'm probably on a train somewhere.

The cats are all doing well. Some of them are playing at this very moment. LOL ... Silly creatures! :-D No sign of kittens yet. We aren't 100% sure either cat is even pregnant. Although, I was feeling Fluffy's belly last night and it is kind of hard. Milkyway doesn't let anyone hold her much, so I have not been able to check her belly out at all. I sure wish we had the funds to get them all fixed so we did not have to deal with this anymore. We have 7 of them to get fixed and money has been real tight to do this. Milkyway and Patch are the only indoor/outdoor cats we have. all the others are indoor only. Hope you find homes for these stray pups. We don't need your 2 yr old being licked to death. LOL ... Have a great day!

May is not too far and he will be moving to Florida then. I pray you and your loved ones are doing fine and that God has you in His loving arms. Peace
  • Travis

Sorry I haven't written. I will be sending a new email address soon. I will be moving out of our house and into a place of my own. She doesn't want me here, but wants to remain my friend, but I've got to move on. I have never been so troubled about something in my life, but I have done all I can do. I have been a good husband and always did the right thing, but now I have had to make a decision I don't agree with. I can't take the thought of making her unhappy so i am going to leave. She thinks it is great and we will all get along so much better. So, that's where I am at right now. PLEASE PRAY for me. I know when I go it is going to be emotional on my part.

Thanks for your note. I'm still feeling tired a lot but encouraged that God is working in the chat room we have for folks w/ chronic illness. Homeschooling is not easy with an illness, but I just have one son and he's 14.5 years old now and can do a lot independently.

I'm pretty tired, so time flies... That makes it harder to keep up!

    God bless!

Peace in Chronic Illness chat & blog

    Hi there,

I've been so busy that I don't have much time to think or talk to people these days. I have a good job, but for how long? God alone knows. I'm a "knowledge engineer," which means that I'm doing all the technical writing and quality assurance for the healthcare service desks. It's the toughest and most fulfilling job I've ever had, but I honestly don't know how long I can keep it up. I'm still teaching online, too.

I am sorry to hear that you've been sick. I hope that by now you are all better. Miss Becky, Dan's grandmother, had gall bladder surgery on Sunday morning. They are going to transport her to Atlanta due to complications. Please keep her in your prayers.

We are doing well. We had a good time at our shower/reception in Texas. Heather also had a good time at the shower they threw at the church. The baby appears to be doing just fine. We're probably going to the air show in Vidalia this weekend when we get the boys. Arthur has been coming to visit for a couple of months now.

All in all, I now understand that I had to leave my position with the school when I did. It turns out that I needed to take this direction with my life. What's next? God will let me know when I really need to know.

God bless you and your family. I hope all goes well for you guys in the months ahead. Any word on the direction that y'all are headed in? Is Chuck still looking or did he find something? I'd really like to know.

P.S. It turns out that when God wants you to change careers or jobs, it all works out at precisely the perfect time. It's funny how we sometimes forget that truth.

Let's pray this prayer for a week...en tell everyone how God renew r heart...

As King David said, WASH ME THOROUGHLY FROM MY
INIQUITY, AND CLEANSE ME FROM MY SIN.
    ( PSALM 51:2 *NKJV )

    Here’s a daily prayer …. WASH DAY….

    Monday Wash Day
Lord, help me wash away all my selfishness and vanity, so I
may serve you with perfect humility through the week ahead.

    Tuesday Ironing Day
Dear Lord, help me iron out all the wrinkles
of prejudice I have collected through the years so that I may
    see the beauty in others.

    Wednesday Mending Day
O God, help me mend my ways so I will not
set a bad example for others.

    Thursday Cleaning Day
Lord Jesus, help me to dust out all the many faults I have been
hiding in the secret corners of my heart.

    Friday Shopping Day
O God, give me the grace to shop wisely so I may purchase
eternal happiness for myself and all others in need of love.

    Saturday Cooking Day
Help me, my Savior, to brew a big kettle of brotherly love and
serve it with clean, sweet bread of human kindness.

    Sunday The Lord's Day
O God, I have prepared my house for you. Please come into my
heart so I may spend the day and the rest of my life in your
    presence

NOW THIS IS THE CONFIDENCE THAT WE HAVE IN HIM,
THAT IF WE ASK ANYTHING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, HE
HEARS US. AND IF WE KNOW THAT HE HEARS US,
WHATEVER WE ASK, WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE THE
PETITIONS THAT WE HAVE ASKED OF HIM.
    ( 1 JOHN 5:14-15 *NKJV )
We often find ourselves to busy to stop and say a prayer
when we have a rough day. In this life everything seems like
it has to be accomplished A.S.A.P. So we often forget to
speak to God in prayer about it before we react.
Therefore one must remember that; THE PRAYER OF A
RIGHTEOUS MAN IS POWERFUL AND EFFECTIVE!.
( JAMES 5:16 *NIV ) More powerful and more effective than
anything else on this Earth, even when we must react
    As Soon As Possible.
Now friend, have you ever wondered about the
abbreviation A.S.A.P.? Generally we think of it in terms
of even more hurry and stress in our lives. Maybe if we
think of this abbreviation in a different manner, we will
begin to find a new way to deal with those rough days
    along the way...
    So when.......
    There's work to do, deadlines to meet;
You've got no time to spare,
But as you hurry and scurry-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
In the midst of family chaos,
    "Quality time" is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.
It may seem like your worries
Are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER
    God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease our cares,
And He'll respond to all your needs
    A.S.A.P. - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER.
