- Many times we come up against the issue of supporting others. Illness, Finances, relationships, and death are a few issues where support is called for.
I want to discuss how we are to support those who are afflicted with illness whether emotional, physical, or spiritual.
As Christians we have a responsibility to care for those who are ill, First by prayer, because we should always be lifting up those who are sick and ask God to heal them.
While we are waiting for that healing to manifest we should be doing all we can by supporting them in a practical since. Bring meals, visit them, go do errands for them, do Bible studies with them if they are up to it. And most of all keep praying with, and for them.
Do not ever make the person feel bad if they are not instantly healed. The two pillars of love are patience and kindness, our job is to support them and not judge them.
“Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;” ( James 5:14 )
“Because I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you welcomed me. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
“Then the righteous will say to him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and give you something to eat, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you as a stranger and welcome you, or see you naked and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?”
40The king will answer them, “I tell you with certainty, since you did it for one of the least important of these brothers of mine, you did it for me.” ( Matthew 25:35-40 )
“And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them.' ( Mark 6:16 )
“...they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." ( Mark 16:18b, )
Also there will be support that is needed for those who have mental issues. Our support for them could be to make sure they are taking their prescribed medications, visiting them, and to just be in their life for them.
The scripture says to comfort ( be near ) the feeble minded. ( Fainthearted, discouragement, little strength, timid ) (1 Thessalonians 5:14 0
This scripture really says a lot about what it means to comfort some one with a mental illness, “to be near them”.
Many times we just stay clear of them and hope the secular doctors can help them.
You may know of someone in your church who has one of their family member diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Others might have a family member who is suicidal, and maybe your best Christian friend has fallen into clinical depression.
It is at these times that we need to draw near to them and bring comfort, support, and encouragement to them.
There was a story in Mark chapter two about a paralyzed man who was brought to Jesus to be healed, His friends were so disparate to see their friend healed that they literally tore the roof off the house so they could lower the cot with the paralyzed man was on it down into the house where Jesus was, and the man was healed.
This is such a picture of how we are to support and help the sick. These men loved their friend and had faith to believe Jesus could heal him and they were so convinced that they went to extremes to see their friend healed.
It makes all the difference in the world for those who are afflicted with physical or mental illness to know that they are loved and do not have to face their illness alone. - Other stuff about me:
- I write devotionals that I share with others, I write them from the things God is teaching me every day.
I know how discouraged we can get and how important it is to find a refreshing word of encouragement. I desire to have the moral character of Jesus to develop more in my life so that glory will be given to God. I desire to touch others with the love of God in this new year like never before.
I want nothing more than to hear my Lord say well done thy good and faithful servant, to end my race well for Him and to finish the race of faith he has given to me.

WE KNOW THAT GOD DOES NOT AND NEVER INTENDED FOR MARRIAGES TO BREAK UP... WE GREW UP IN A HOME WHERE I AM SURE MY DADDY LOVED MOM MORE THAN SHE LOVED HIM... BUT THAT WAS HER PERSONALITY - SHE WAS AN ABUSED CHILD - NEVER SEXUALLY BUT SHE WAS BEATEN WITH POKING RODS (FOR THE FIRE) AND HER HAIR WAS PULLED ETC... I AM SO GLAD THAT LITTLE CRY BABY NEVER SAW SUCH BRUTALITY - I WOULD NEVER HAVE SURVIVED...
SO, THERE WAS LOVE IN OUR HOME... AND I THINK MY DADDY GAVE MY MOTHER SO MUCH LOVE THAT SHE OVERCAME A LOT OF HER CHILDHOOD ANGER. BUT SHE DID LOSE IT A BIT WHEN SHE WAS ANGRY WITH US KIDS. WE GOT BEATINGS THAT WERE VERY PAINFUL BUT SHE OFTEN CRIED WITH US AFTER REALIZING HOW HARD SHE HAD HIT! BUT WE NEVER STOPPED LOVING HER. SHE KEPT US CLEAN AND WARM AND FED... AND BECAUSE OF THE HARMONY THAT MY DADDY KEPT IN THE HOME WE GREW UP TO LOVE PEOPLE. ALL THREE OF US... MY OLDER BROTHER EDWARD PASSED ON BUT HE WAS SO WELL LOVED BY ALL.. AND MY BABY BROTHER JACKIE - WHOM WE PROMOTED WHEN HE GOT BIGGER AND NOW HE IS CALLED JACK - SAME AS MY DADDY... BUT HE HAD TO "GROW INTO" THAT NAME.(SMILE) THEN MY BROTHER EDWARD HAD HIS FIRST SON AND HE WAS CALLED "BABY JACKIE" AND TO THIS DAY WE STILL TALK ABOUT BABY JACKIE AND HE IS 6 FT 3 INCHES TALL AND A BIG MAN... WELL BUILT AND GOOD LOOKING. I DO LOVE MY FAMILY SO MUCH - AND MY SISTERS - IN - LAW FROM BOTH MY BROTHERS ARE LOVED BY ME AND THEY RECIPROCATE... (I AM STILL A CRY BABY AND WILL ALWAYS BE BECAUSE I AM HYPER SENSITIVE - BUT I AM WORKING ON IT. (SMILE))... I MISINTERPRET THINGS PEOPLE SAY AND I GET NERVOUS AND THINK THEY ARE "FIGHTING" WITH ME... I HATE CRITICISM BUT I TRULY THANK GOD THAT HE HAS HELPED ME TO GROW... I have complained to Greg about e-mails I received wherein the person referred to something which upset me as a Christ Follower... Have a look at my complaint and perhaps you can give me some guidance... I feel that we can never allow people to speak derogatively about God Almighty and I received an e-mail from someone who wanted to leave a site and said "I am not into God anymore"... when it comes to talking about God we must bridle our tongues... He is certainly not our "mate"... or a Teddy Bear which you discard when you are a cross little boy... and later decide to pick it up and play with it again.. Perhaps I am wrong but I really feel strongly about how we respect God. I put a discussion up relating to Job and how he handled his suffering and shortcomings...
I tried discussing this with Carla (as she is a moderator) but I think she does not understand... she thinks possibly that this is "gossipping".... on the contrary - I feel we all should stand up for Jesus and our Father... I can't allow someone to say blasphemous things because he is upset...
I presently have serious problems which hubby and I pray about in the privacy of our bedroom with God being our pillar of strength and comfort.
Please look into the matter as I do not want to display something which all eyes will see.

Yes, Let me and our Mt.Everest Prayer Tower declare that you have the special calling to work among the business entrepreneurs and the needy poor groups with your having own talents and experiences. Yesteday after I found your message I began to pray around half night and I saw same vision many time that you were getting very busy teaching and tranfering vocational and technical activities and social services with the different professional groups.

Know that I love you in Jesus and I am praying for all your trivial problems to be resolved by our Saviour and redeemer... I love it when someone serves the Master with a true and open heart... and that is how I sum you up... COMPLIMENT!!! There are a few other people whom I find very transparent and they say what they mean and mean what they say... and that is what Jesus wants from His children.

I apologize with you that due to hurriedly typing with the fear of electricity line cut yesterday I mistakely typed the word of close instead of break (Our prayer tower will break/off for a few day). Let you know here is having 18 hours aday electricity loadshedding in Kathmandu, Nepal.

I do apprecite you so much.
YEs our children is getting each day... my eldest is also back now from her year for Christ and she wants to study Sport science this year, the other daughter has finished scool last year and also enroll to study hospitality, and i have stil my son in school, grade 10 this year. We miss our kids when they ar e far from home, for me it is terrible not having them around. How are things between you and wife brother, any changes? We are greeting everybody and dont keep up with our loved ones like you! I just pray that I could be here more often but it is not possible at this stage...
Oh yes indeed settled in although I am having still boxes that is unpacked, due to a limited cupboard space... but at least we are here.
Oh I am struggling to get used to the city and I do miss my church family sooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!! The city is just different from the country community and the churches is huge and it feels like you dont belong, but Rome wasntbuild in one day hey?? The rush in the city is just not for me and I am working very hard, and between you and me, my boss, although I admire him very much, changed a lot and I have to adjust to new behaviour. I feel like I dont have time for myself any longer it is just going on on and on.
But i dont want to complain God is still in control and while we are living the enemy wil do anything to get us distracted from our purpose in Christ.

Long time it has been! Im sorry that I wasent able to log on and tell you on what is happening throughout my chirstian life and walk with jesus. But these last 3 months where defintly the work of jesus.
I had got a better job at the airport. I work for SAS as a ramp agent and im keeping strong, as much as i am putting alot into it.
In Jan, my closest freind and I talked about our past, and we somehow came to the darkest moments of my life. I was a cutter, and I dont know how we came across that topic, but through nessa, I belive jesus pulled that pain out of my heart. I never been so tearfull in front of a woman before. but i let it out..
During the month of febuary, I found that brent michale and others are finding there way in chirst! Brent, the one i talked to in november, came to me and said "thank you" to me. I did what you had explained to me about evangelisum, and i am proud to say, that i am seeing gods work in my freinds who had almost drifted to the edge.
Anouther was a dream. Id call it a vision.It involved Vanessa and I. Do you know that song called "Set me Free" by casting crowns? Well, i had learned of it AFTER i had this dream.
In my dream, I felt two hand on both of my arms pulling side to side. I felt cold and worn out as i tried to free myself. I was ready to give up. Then it stopped. The feeling of the grip of uknown hands had vansished and i felt an object in my left hand. My blue bible. The world around me also changed, and It reviled a man, holding a woman who I know so closely. I seen a tear from his face.
I woke up and stared into the blackness of my room. I felt my body skacken and i walked around my house for a bit to wear it off. I couldnt get it off my head, so i started to draw it. (drawings a hobby for me)
I drew vanessa and the man holding her. Just as i remembered it. I felt conferted from it.
A week later, Nessa came back from Breakforth, Alberta from a Adult YC. She explained it to me and somehow, i felt that i was connected to it. Deciding at the moment, i drove back to my house and grabed the picture i drew.
First i told her about my dream, and she was curious why she was in it. I couldnt really give her an answer. But When i gave her the picture, she gasped. But at the same time, She said what i had felt. "it feels conferting."
This is the shocker though, As she was staring at it, she plugged in her IPOD into my car stearo and turned her music. The song was "Set me free" from casting crowns. After lisiting to it! I was liittly out of words bob, I couldnt say anything, becuase that song was almost directly involved with my vision....but why was nessa in it.
I still ponder about that.
Anyways, enough about me, how are you?

An older lady gets pulled over for speeding...
Older Woman: Is there a
problem, Officer?
Officer: Ma'am, you were speeding.
Older Woman: Oh, I see.
Officer: Can I see your license please?
Older Woman: I'd give it to you but I don't have one.
Officer: Don't have one?
Older Woman: Lost it, 4 years ago for drunk driving.
Officer: I see....Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.
Older Woman: I
can't do that.
Officer:
Why not?
Older Woman: I stole this car.
Officer: Stole it?
Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.
Officer: You what?
Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see
The Officer looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car and calls for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half drawn gun..
Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of
your vehicle please! The
woman steps out of her vehicle.
Older woman: Is there a problem sir?
Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner.
Older Woman: Murdered the owner?
Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please.
The woman opens the trunk,
revealing nothing but an empty
trunk.
Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am?
Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers.
The officer is quite stunned.
Officer 2: One of my officers claim that you do not have a driving license.
The woman digs into her handbag and
pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to
the officer.
The officer examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.
Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, one of my officers told me you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner..
