My story with God
My life as I knew it was gone...so I thought. I hit rock bottom. I prayed - God please help me. He did! The Holy Spirit came into my heart immediatley. I - at that moment - understood what a "man" dying on a cross to save me meant. I was filled with a joy and peace that I had looked for all of my life. It was definitely the best thing that ever happened to me. I wanted to tell the whole world...I understand now...and tell them so they would know where complete joy and peace was to be found...instead of wasting so much time looking in all the wrong places. Praise the Lord!
Other stuff about me:
I love being around my grandchildren and my Christian friends. I love the ocean and all of God's creation. I have a calling for foreign missions - Nicaragua. I know what poverty is now. I found out that no matter how poor you think you are living in the US..you are extremely rich..compared to the people in Nicaragua.
I have a wonderful husband that has also been called to go into Nicaragua and spread the gospel.
I live so far in the boondocks that light has to be filtered in! I still have dial-up internet...we cannot get DSL in our area. I love living in the country...but would like to live near a store in case I am cooking and have put all ingredients in except the last one and realize I have none and it takes an hour to get anywhere to purchase it...then I would like to live in town. I have a little Maltese named Lexie.
Greetings in the Lord! This is Greg, TheNET Coordinator. Welcome! We're glad you are here! It was great to read your testimony and to hear of your love for Nicaragua. My sister in law is from there.
I also want to invite you to join our Bible study, In the Beginning: a study in the book of Genesis to help you know God better and grow in Him! You can click here to join the study.
Once again, thanks for joining TheNET. I hope you make lots of good friends here and keep growing in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord.

Thanks for inviting me to be a friend! Wonderful that you have heart for missions. That's something I care about, too, though can't seem to do much about these days. Except that the internet goes around the world!
I was going to suggest that you start a group here on missions, but it looks like there is one already, called A2A, on using the internet for out reach. That's pretty cool!
Donna, Thanks for writing back. No, my sister-in-law isn't on the network. I should invite her shouldn't I?
She hasn't been back to Nicarauga for years. She and her family immigrated here back in the late 70's or early 80's during the Sandanistas and she hasn't been back since. I don't think she wants much to do with her native land, unfortunately. Too many bad memories I think. But I'm glad you are being a blessing there through your missions work. Have a great day in the Lord, Donna!
Hi Donna,
One book is done. I'm working on 6 others.
You can see my book on my website at www.donaldjamesparker.com If you decide to write, I'll do what I can to help you learn the ropes. Lots of stuff to know!!
