    I asked God…

I asked God to take away my pain
    God said, No
-it is not for me to take away,
But for you to give up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole
    God said, No
-Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience
    God said, No
-patience is a by-product of tribulations,
It isn’t granted, it is earned.
I asked God to give me happiness
    God said, No
-I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.
I asked God to make my spirit grow
    God said, No
-you must grow on your own
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life
    God said, No
-I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things
I asked God to helped me LOVE others,
as much as He loves me
    God said…..
Ahhh, finally you have the idea.

    God loves You!

Your poem is encouraging. I saw it on someone else’s page. It is quite moving, the last stanza regarding the love of others…if we look at the Lord’s prayer we recite “forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us”; which as you know is teaching us to love others as HE loves me and you… we reflect a part of that love un to the death of our personal opinions, through the process of “dying to self”. A hard process to get to, but once we do…the rewards are marvelous.

Thank you REW. That sounds great to me... I have heard about this before... I don't know about attending this year, but thank you for telling me the dates. I will definately place it in the Lord's hands...

    Hi REW!

I'm glad to pass this over your way. I hope it blesses you!

  • REW

Thanks Ken. You stated you are a writer; what type of writing do you do? Is the litle girl yours? How old is she?
I know- -questions,questions; but I hope you ind them to be good ones.

    TTFN, REW
  • Ken_S:-)

    Hi,
I like questions - they make me feel like I'm being interviewed. That doesn't happen; normally it's my clients that get that distinction!

REW, I have no idea who the little girl in the video is or her age. I came across the video on Godtube and it blessed me so I relentlessly sent it around to everyone I know.

I'm a ghostwriter, so I write about whatever my clients want (unless they propose an immoral project or something that crosses the line of good taste), but typically I write real estate investing books, courses, and manuals, with a healthy dose of articles about personal finance, credit, debt relief, etc.

My goal is to eventually devote the bulk of my writing energies to my own book projects (which I'm currently working on in my spare time), but until I do I'm blessed to work from the comfort of my own home as a mouthpiece for people that lack the time, inclination, or (sometimes) talent to handle their own projects.

I probably should have given you the short version, but I rarely know when to muzzle myself. :-)

    God Bless!

    Ken

Photography...now THAT'S a worthy vocation. You're paid to capture the essence of all that God has given for our visual enjoyment. You must be blessed!

    hello,friend...
me en my family wer born again 2 1/2 yrs ago... hehehe yes for others we may consider as baby christian then.. but as far as i know... its in the desire of ur heart to be true born again christian...yes, some christian professing they're born again but can't see alteration in their lives...oops sorry for those hu offended... hehehe but in reality it's true right?
as we grow in spirit, we can say problems arised more than what we expected, but if we're going to be sensitive in God's will... problems, trails, tribulations etc...r big blessings for us... we can't hev the fruits of spirit (Gal.5:22) if we will not experienced trials en tribulations in life..
and that's what we r right now my friend...
as we recieved Christ in our lives, we really commit ourselves to Him, en in His ministries...when u hev ministry never ceased on doing what u started up...
i really become observant...that when fellow christians stopped in their ministries, en problems arise ahhh... they easily fall down...
as written in Mt.4:4 ... we must stick to His words, we must be always thirsty en hungry in soul foods...
yes, me and my family were all active in our church since we became children of God...
one time God reveals me these verse in the bible 1 Tim. 3:5....For if a man does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?
every monday morning we,in our home,we hev a family devotion...i am the one hu exhort, each members has participation in this ministry..
as i always saying, we feel holy when wer inside the church, doing ministry, but when we go outside the church, do we still feel holy, feel the presence of our Lord? hehehee that's what God revealed to me...
wherever we go, we must be holy... esp.in our family...where our jerusalem is started at home...
one more important thing in life... always worship Him en give thanks...(1 Thess 5:16-18)
kip n touch my friend.... God is good all the time....

    One Step At A Time

One step at a time is the best way to go
When going through life and traveling in the direction of your dreams
The best way to get ahead is the simpliest way:
Take one step at a time
    Don’t look over your shoulder
If you do, you’ll feel the weight of all your yesterdays upon you
And don’t worry about what lies ahead
By the time you get to the bend in the road or the crest of the hill
You’re going to be better and stronger than you ever were before
Just go one step at a time
    One day at a time
And you’ll find a rich, thankful life you never thought you could afford….

Hi my friend, sorry for neglecting but working two jobs and are only back home late evenings,(if you check in your sms box on the left top side of the page you will see I left a sms for you) A bit hectic but have great expectancing for Father to do great things to give me more available time on the Net, in the meantime I do what I can but can assure you each one is in my heart!! Will chat again!! Blessings !!!
  • Ken_S:-)

    Hi REW!
Sorry I'm just now getting back to you. One of my weaknesses is that I don't always do today what can be postponed until tomorrow. I need to mix that up a little bit!

Photography is a wonderful choice! I enjoy taking pictures even though I'm not particularly good at it. I've discovered through trial and error that God blessed me with the ability to paint pictures with words - so I paint as many as I possibly can.

It sounds as if your husband may be screaming for a change of scenery. If he has an interest in something else or has the opportunity to make use of God-given talent or ability, I think he should take advantage of it.

At one time I was locked in a position that didn't particularly suit me - I was a truck driver. I stepped into that role because it seemed like an interesting job with plenty of travel opportunities. While I was able to see the beauty that God has given us, I discovered that there's only so much beauty to be experienced through a bug-splattered windshield.

I prayed about it with my wife and not long after that I felt like God wanted me to make the change. I must have been listening because I had replaced my income within three months of making the change and it has only improved since then.

I really don't have many travel opportunities...most of my writing projects consist of writing books for real estate investors, platform speakers, and success coaches. I typically do phone interviews and then write their books that way.

It's pretty mundane work, but I've got a stable of happy clients that pay me pretty well to do work that is enjoyable. Now I'm trying to kick some projects to the curb so I can work on my fiction writing.

Whenever I can I jump at the chance to practice my craft and tell stories...until then I'm more than happy to stand in the shadows and let others take credit for what I've written...as long as their check clears!

Enjoy this video I came across...it's a funny reminder that there are any number of good ways of vividly explaining concepts so that more people can understand even the most difficult subjects...

God Bless you! Enjoy your weekend and your time at church tomorrow!

    Ken

    Hello again!

Your husband may be right where God wants him right now...it may not be clear at the moment, but as time passes it may become more evident.

Yes, my wife and I have four children -- Boys 15, 7 and 6 and a 12 year-old daughter -- that alternately bless us and challenge us. And sometimes a blessing and a challenge can come simultaneously!

We'd love to get away for a full body immersion into God's word, but unfortunately my wife has to schedule her vacations months in advance and I have to plan for work stoppages of my own...but it DOES sound like fun!

We have a very good home church that we spend time with. We have weekly worship services, bible study groups that are available as well as special programs for the kids (youth group and AWANA).

This church has been a real blessing to us. Our Pastor is an exceptionally spry 75 yea-old who manages to do everything - and be a shining light for the entire congregation as we strive to get/stay in the center of God's will for our lives.

BTW...I enjoy our chats as much as you do! But right now I have a "to-do list" that's as long as my right arm. If I don't get back to it I'll be in deep trouble!

    gOD bLESS!

    Ken
