Yes it is always a blessing to be in fellowship with others of like minds and know it too that you are loved and welcome regardless of where you have been and what you have done. I think this is the most needed thing in the body of Christ today.. Well I am about to look at your post and then i may come back here..
Take care have fun and be well..
    cheers
  • konceptskool

Just saw your comment on the "Purpose in Life" forum and will like to say thank God that We all are making some good use of our gifts for His body here..This is one other thing that maybe i will start as a forum..There is so much gifting in the body of christ yet little usage, it is important to know that God gave us these gifts to nurture His body, when they are not in use the body suffers..
Any way thanks be to God and am only glad to be your friend..
    cheers
  • konceptskool

Well you are in good company cos we all are CRAZY..
  • konceptskool

OK..then you are in good company cos we all are CRAZY all the time...It is amazing to me that we have a knack of just running off with ourselves and the only way to stop us is for us to find that down the road we are by ourselves. It is a blessing to find this out because after all the shouts God would make to catch our attention he still leaves his arms around us even while we wonder in the dark.. I think that a very good way of benchmarking our will from God's will is that our will is always so appealing to us and ever drawing us to itself..God's ways are different from ours and we should have this as a benchmark..
    cheers..

    Rori,

Greetings in the Lord! This is Greg, TheNET Coordinator. Welcome! We're glad you are here! It was interesting reading your profile and to hear about how God is working in your life. I'm glad you are finding this site to be helpful. Praise God!

How long have you been a believer? What led you to that decision?

Please be sure to check out the Genesis Group and visit the Links for Growth forum for great tips on how to grow in Christ.

I also want to invite you to join our Bible study, In the Beginning: a study in the book of Genesis to help you know God better and grow in Him! You can click here to join the study.

Once again, thanks for joining TheNET. I hope you make lots of good friends here and keep growing in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord.

To make it easier for people to read your responses back to them, click the "Comment Back" link under each message and that will put your comment on their profile page. Hope this helps.

Hi Rori, Welcome to the net! It will be fun getting to know you!
  • AAG Netguy

    Hi! To answer your questions...

"Add Comment" adds a comment to your own page. Typically, you don't want to do this. You want to "Add Comment" to other people's pages.

"Comment Back" is the way you reply to a comment left for you by someone else on your profile page. This is the proper way to respond.

At this time, there is no way to mass mail all your friends or everyone on TheNET. There used to be a way, but Ning (the engine powering TheNET) took that feature off. They claim they are coming up with something better, but I wouldn't bet on it.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for wanting to be my friend. We are not that far apart in that I am in Michigan and you in Indiana. I have one grown son, age 41. He will be moving to Florida and this will be a hard change for me. We have never been that far apart but work in Michigan is scarce and he is unemployed after being a fork lift driver for over fifteen years. He has a friend in Florida who will pay my son's way down there. This friend of his has MS and is in a wheelchair so my son will be able to help him. I will surely miss him. Thanks again for wanting to be my friend and I wish you a Happy New Year.
  • Jacky

Hi Rori, thank you for your friend request! Did you have a good Christmas and New year?

    God bless

I am a confirmed cat lover for from my youth up I have been raised with cats. I now have a cat named Patches for she is a patch job of black and carmel all over.
I know that God has put this hardest test before me to like Abraham and Isaac will I still love and trust Him even in this wilderness? Some lessons are harder than others but all come from the King of Glory. I daily have to remind myself of that or Satan will lodge unwanted feelings into my spirit. Thank you for your concern and prayers. You truly are a "friend in need is a friend indeed." It is a shame we will never meet as we are not that far apart. When I was married my then husband and son and I would go to Valparaiso for our yearly family reunion.
  • Paige Robertson

    Hi Rori-
I read a little about you and would love to get to know eachother better. The Lord delivered me from being a 86lb anorexic, who had a addiction problem in alot of other areas. Such as alcoholism, diet pill addiction(ephedrine)codependency, stealing cheating, and practically prostituting myself. Sleeping around not so much for sex, but the approval of men and a feeling I was loved. If anyone had a love dficit it was me. The Lord delivered me from death in2002 and my life has changed drastically. Living in this world without hope, hope in a creator,a eternal father that loves you unconditionally, is tragic. I hold on him each day as I walk through each season and phase of my life. I have been married for 9 years and have 2 children. 3 yrs old, and 4 months old. My life is better, but every season has struggles and many reasons that "pop up" to hold on to God for dear life. I hope you can relate to this. I want to be your friend. Maybe we can encourage eachouther and pray for one another. Blessings, Paige

Hi Rori! Yes, please come. I'm not sure how it is all going to work, but we're going to meet tonight at 7 pm mountain time on my page. You can sign in as a guest and chat. If it doesn't work, please come to my Xanga site (www.xanga.com/issymae) and try it there. Tonight, we're just going to get to know each other and then start the study next week.

We'll be studying a basic apologetic study called Why Believe. Do you want me to mail you a book? They are $6. You can message me with your address and I'll get one in the mail to you tomorrow. I hope to see you tonight!
  • AAG Netguy

    Rori,

Just wanted you to know I prayed about the requests you posted on the MAIN page prayer box. May God intervene powerfully in those situations.

Regarding your mom, what alternatives have you considered to caring for her yourself? I'm feeling that God doesn't want you to continue being beaten down in that unhealthy situation.

Hey Rori, hows it hanging? I just thought about you couple of minutes ago and thought to say Hi.. Hope you are well and enjoying fellowship here.. • Noreen Moyer

Rori.....tell me how you can praise God for your son being in for drug addiction. I am truly having trouble accepting my son leaving me here in Michigan to go to his friend in Florida. He is having his way paid for and he hopes to find work there where he isn't here in Detroit area. We have never been that far apart..I am age 63 and he age 41. Thank you for your understanding response
  • Noreen Moyer

I am age 63 and have been on this earth to experience a violent marriage and wife abuse before the phrase was coined. I divorced when my son was only 12 and raised him on Welfare by myself. It was tough but my son was with me. Now he is going to Florida and this will be hard to live with. The Lord is showing me that He is testing me to see if I love Him more than any human..even my son. This will be a very hard test BUT I will not part from my Lord even going through this valley. Thanks for your kind reply..........take care
  • Noreen Moyer

Pray Rori that I also could have counseling. My psychiatrist only refills my drugs and says a few quick things...asks quick questions and I am done for another 8 weeks. Last time I brought my son into the brief session to share with the counselor what I will be facing in the summer, of my son going to Florida from Michigan. She did not grant me understanding or comfort. I left the session more hurt than ever. Yes, I could use the chance to "talk out" what is bothering me...but I know my Savior is with me no matter what the enemy may put in my mind. I am not alone.....just this old body is.
  • Paige Robertson

    Hi Rori!!
Thanks for thinking of me. That is very nice of you.
Yes, I would love to know your thoughts.... You give such great hope and encouragement. I bet alotof my other friends here are pretty annoyed at me by now because I cant seem to shake this off. I know that sometimes God heals quickly with some things and takes his time with others to grow trust and dependence on Him. I think He really wants to work in me and get to the root of this prblem and thats going to take some stripping. Like peeling layers off an onion. It hurts, but what do you do? Anyway, Im glad you are doing well and I hope that little one is too. Its cool that you are caring for her. Paige
  • Paige Robertson

I will definately do that!!! I have quite a story. Im writing one for Melissa as a matter of fact. But mainly on eating disorders. That was only a smidgen of my interesting life, but ultimately that was the 1st cause of why I was looking death in the face. I will write u tomorrow.
    Lots of Love. Paige

    Hi glad to meet you.
Hop u r fine by His grace.
    God bless u
  • Noreen Moyer

Rori......I am on a fixed income of being on Social Security Disability so could not afford only what I have now...going to a clinic. This is a very imperfect world system so I simply believe in the kingdom I am going to and ask my Father to grant me grace to get through to His kingdom. My medicaid has been cut back also...no more dental coverage. I have dentures that badly need refitting but no dentist will accept medicaid. Again more of the imperfect world system. The poor are truly left on the wayside.

I hope you can join us at 7 pm mountain time Wednesday night for Bible study at www.xanga.com/issymae.

If you have problems, you can email me at melissa@houdmann.com and I'll watch for it during the study.

Hi Rori, We're hoping to have more studies in the future. Right now, the one on Wednesday nights is the only one I'm doing. I hope you can join us next time!
  • Heatley

I saw you in the Indian Ladies' reply to you. I agree about the thorns. I've gone to Church for years with very comfortable people, and I'd be sitting there thinking, this isn't real, and now I have the answer. The wheels have fallen off my structured life big time, and yet I feel closer to God's view, especially in Job. It wasn't that long ago I was wondering well I'm not going to do a Job, it's too exteme. And in a very short time I lost nearly all my family except one who has stayed with me, and I'm talking about 7 kids. ( I'm more catholic than the catholics...... only kidding) We had the movie at home "cheaper by the dozen" and I was sitting there saying to my lot,'See how dad's trying to get it all together for you lot", fell on deaf ears. But I have been provided for by God's providence and my Faith, and although I have plans still for the future, I'm now more open to God's voice especially in the Bible. But I still love my bees, it's my job which I love and the work isn't onerous.
  • AAG Netguy

Glad you liked the rearrangment of the Forum page. I hope others like the arrangement too. I agree it was getting a bit overwhelming.

At some point in the not too distant future, I will need someone to help me keep things organized on TheNET and will need to add some additional administrators. Is that something you'd be interested in doing?
  • Diane

Hi Rori ! My name is Diane and I am a new member! I hope to make many new friends "here"! I also hope to be an encourager to others, through this site...to remain "strong" in their relationship with Jesus! I am a Gospel singer and feel the "call" on my life to "write" Christian books and articles for magazines...even Public Speaking if the doors open to do so! I'd love to hear from you! I'll post a picture (s) soon!
    Blessings!

Good Morning Rori! Hope you are doing OK today. I'm putting together some things people have said about TheNET to use as a welcome greeting when people stop by our home page. Would you be open to letting me use some of your quotes? I'll let you know which ones. What do you think?
  • AAG Netguy

Thanks, Rori. I appreciate your help!

Glad you liked the "slideshow" but I had to change it to static pictures because it took too long to load. What do you think?
