I often feel like I am on the outside looking in. Many times things are said and misunderstood. Once that happens it is very difficult to undo the misunderstanding. Discouragement will knock on the door and if you answer the door discouragement will come on in. If however you chose not to answer, then it will look for any cracks and attempt to get inside that way. So we will do our best to caulk any and all cracks. Still, we cannot protect ourselves on our own. We have Our Lord! When discouragement knocks on the door, Our Lord will answer the door if we but ask. Instead of it just walking in, discouragement will stutter and walk back a bit, then it will tell Jesus it must have the wrong house. So let it be the next time we begin to feel discouragement. Introduce it to Jesus and Holy Spirit who live inside us. It will be a short visit, they have little in common
Ephesians 5 :1-14 New American Standard Bible |
Be Imitators of God
1Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
3But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; 4andthere must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7Therefore do not be partakers with them; 8for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light 9(for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), 10trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. 11Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; 12for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. 13But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.
14For this reason it says,
“Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.”
Ephesians 5 : 15-21 New American Standard Bible |
15Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 19speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; 20always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; 21and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
James 2:21-24 21 Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. 23 And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God. 24 So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone. As we put forward our faith and actions, we will see His Promises in our life. It is important for us to believe that He Loves us. Many may say, “well of course He Loves us.” The reason I say this is, it can be difficult for us to believe God for some things. Abraham believed God! Again and again we see how he trusted God. He knew also that God loved him. Because of his obedience and his trust in God, we are called his children. Gal 3:7 The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God. So let us put forth our faith with the same understanding Abraham did. Knowing God Loves us and wants only the best for us.
The struggle can be very hard at times to follow His leading. The enemy wants us to compare ourselves with others. In these times we must know that God weighs our hearts. We may not know why He ask us to do this or that. In the end it is better to obey then to ask for forgiveness. It is not always what we are asked to do, but that we are obedient to Him in doing whatever it may be. All to His Glory will fuel that obedience as we focus on this simple but Powerful Truth. All to His Glory!
amen my brother
As that Wonderful and Glorious day approaches, that we are no longer bound by this clay tent of ours. Gone will the days be, that we groan and are burdened by all that comes with this life. On that day when we are face to face with our Lord, and with all the Family of God. Yet, not our will but His be done. In this we gain courage knowing, He has more for us to do. So we humble ourselves before Him, continue to seek out His plan for us. Be ready to help others, as we become more Christ like in our life. And as we walk by faith, not by sight we discover courage. In that no matter when our time comes, because we put our trust in Him, we will be with Him for all times. All Praise and Glory goes to Our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5 :1-10 New American Standard Bible |
The Temporal and Eternal
1For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven, 3inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked. 4For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life. 5Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.
6Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— 7for we walk by faith, not by sight— 8we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. 9Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad
