God Bless Alcedes great words.

May we all continue to carry, help and support each other in this group, on AAG, our families & friends, our neigbours and all life temporal and spiritual. (Hope that doesn't sound to corny?)

Hi guys, This was passed on to me the other week and I thought how meaningful it was.

There once was a farmer who grew award-winning corn. Each year he entered his corn in the state fair where it won a blue ribbon.

One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbours.

"How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbours when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?" the reporter asked.

"Why sir," said the farmer, "didn't you know? The wind picks up pollen from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbours grow inferior corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbours grow good corn."

He is very much aware of the connectedness of life. His corn cannot improve unless his neighbour’s corn also improves.

So it is with our lives. Those who choose to live in peace must help their neighbours to live in peace. Those who choose to live well must help others to live well, for the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches. And those who choose to be happy must help others to find happiness, for the welfare of each is bound up with the welfare of all.

The lesson for each of us is this: if we are to grow good corn, we must help our neighbours grow good corn.

Today's Bible Verse:

1 Peter 1:6-7
In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (ESV)

Today's Inspiring Thought: Tested by Fire

Just as a hammer and high heat are used to forge instruments of iron, God uses trials to develop genuine faith and strength of character in us.

"Times of great calamity and confusion have ever been productive of the greatest minds. The purest ore is produced from the hottest furnace, and the brightest thunderbolt comes from the darkest storm." --Charles Caleb Colton

What a Blessing it is to know what no matter our difficulty, " God is as deep, and long, and high, as our little world of circumstances."  He is Big Enough to handle  no matter the situations we find ourselves in.  Life can be made up of all kinds of  things.  Many times we see them as difficulties, as was said He sees them as opportunities.  This can be determined  by our heart, by our Trust in the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.  As we put forth our Faith, into these trials or difficulties we can understand why they are seen as opportunities.  For when we put forth our Faith, with the mindset; the desire to bring Glory to Our Lord, then the possibilities far outweigh the negative outcomes against what difficulties can give birth to.  As we strive to bring Glory to Jesus, the Victories are ours to cherish.  Lord Bless

FOOD FOR THOUGHTS

"I will be with Him in trouble" (Ps. xci. 15).

"I will be with Him in trouble" (Psalm 91:15).

The question often comes, "Why didn't He help me sooner!" It is not His order. He must first adjust you to the situation and cause you to learn your lesson from it. His promise is, "I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him." He must be with you in the trouble first until you grow quiet. Then He will take you out of it. This will not come till you have stopped being restless and fretful about it and become calm and trustful. Then He will say, "It is enough."

God uses trouble to teach His children precious lessons. They are intended to educate us. When their good work is done a glorious recompense will come to us through them. There is a sweet joy and opportunity in them. He does not regard them as difficulties but as opportunities. They have come to give God a greater interest in you, and to show how He can deliver you from them. We cannot have a mercy worth praising God for without difficulty. God is as deep, and long, and high, as our little world of circumstances.
