All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

As I meditate on, Matt 6:33 33Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. And, I read over “The Sermon on the Mount.” Jesus was teaching in Matt 5:17“Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. They did not know it yet but, this was/is their Messiah. By fulfill the law a new way of living was being brought forth. To be part of this new life style, it must begin with thinking in a different way. No longer eye for an eye, now it was about going the extra mile. Now it is about the heart of a person, and how we sin through the actions of our heart. And, how Love is shown, this was the beginning of His Ministry. As He spoke about Love, He knew then how He would be showing Love on the Cross. As we “Seek the Kingdom of God...” we are setting the way we think, in turn this will change the way we act. That is part of what Jesus is Teaching, think a certain way and how you act will follow. He Teaches us/them how to Pray, how to see God and talk to Him. All through the sermon we see principles of Faith. How to Pray, how to see and treat others. How to see God and how He sees us. Matt 6:31-32 31“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Matt 6:27 27Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Matt 6:34 . 34“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Telling us not to worry or fear both, are things that can get in the way of Faith. Matt 7:1 1“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. As we know another thing that will get in the way of Faith. We see in Matt 5:43-45 43“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. 44But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. Jesus is showing the Power of the Love of God. No longer will we operate in hate, but in Love. John was calling for repentance. Matt 3:2 "Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." First John, then Jesus called for repentance. Then Jesus told His disciples when He sent them out, two by two. Mark 6:12 12So the disciples went out, telling everyone they met to repent of their sins and turn to God. To repent, to change how we think and see things, in turn how we act. In just a few years Jesus will be offering Himself up as the final sacrifice. To be able to receive that sacrifice, we must allow ourselves to be changed. In thought so then, it will be in action. As we “Seek the Kingdom of God...” we are acting in Faith. If a person seeks something then, they must believe in what they seek. To seek means to, “be ambitious, be eager, crave, desire, pursue, strive, want, yearn” Let it be so, that we be ambitious, be eager, crave, desire, pursue, strive, want, yearn or Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. So let it be that we set our hearts and minds on Jesus. That we repent, {change how and the way we think} and humble ourselves before the Lord. That we live the way, Jesus told and showed us. Since He is the Son of God, and we have become God’s Children, let us imitate how He lived here on earth. As we seek the Kingdom of God.
