Jesus is  not the same as God, He is God. He is a member of the Godhead.

"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God...In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us."

Words taken from Genesis 1:1 and John 1: 1,2,14.

Perhaps you are asking rather is Jesus the same as God the Father or God the Spirit.

if so why will the bible say 'the Lord your God is one' if He is another God or some God and at some point in the book of John 14;7-8 Jesus directly said as they have known him they have known the father? i think its God who appeared in the flesh as Jesus. what about that?

I agree with your following statements: 1) The Lord our God is one, 2) it WAS God who appeared in the flesh as Jesus.

This may help answer your question.

John 10:30 Jesus said, "I and the Father are one."

John 17:20-21 He also said, "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me."

God made the heavens, the earth and all that is in them and then said, "Let us make man in our image." The plurality of the one God was introduced to us in the very beginning. Through reading Scripture we come to understand the Trinity as the one true God. You have to understand the people to whom Moses, Isaiah, Paul and others were speaking. They were speaking to those who believed there were thousands and thousands of gods. Scripture tells us there is only one God. The others are all creations of man. The one true God is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. There are not thousands, there is One. The idea of thousands may have come even before the flood and passed down by some of Noah's descendants primarily through Ham, etc. Devotion to the one God sometimes is short-lived. We are called to worship the one true God. Those who are truly in Jesus will do so.

While I do believe that it is possible to not completely understand the one true God as the Godhead as we do know Him, I really do believe there are many false prophets who will try to get us to turn from this God and serve another as has been done throughout human history. I say to be very wary of those who attempt to get us to serve another. I pray this is my brother and just has not come into the revelation. However, be very wary of those who attempt to get you to serve another.

Amen Roy. I meant to put those Scriptures under Emmanuel's post asking if Jesus & God are one. You so right about the false prophets & the number of them is increasing daily as they see the material results behind it.
