'once saved, forever saved' does this argument hold in Christianity?

if i can lose my salvation, then i will.
i can't see how anyone can be saved in the end if keeping our salvation depends on our maintaining it.
anything other than the whole, completed work of Christ on the cross spells disaster.
"for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day." 2 Timothy 1:12
Jenny - we are secured in Christ once born again, because God is able and willing to keep us.
Yes.
In the interest of saving time, I'm not much of a typist, take a look at the link. http://www.gotquestions.org/once-saved-always-saved.html
I just had this discussion with a friend of mine. The question was asked,"If I'm always saved, then I can live anyway I want?"
The answer I gave was,"If you are truly Born Again you won't want to live anyway you want."

Brother Emmanuel,
This question has probably been around for about 2000 years. But it's good to review from time to time.
So, let me start out by saying , I completely agree with Brother Gary Schulz in his post below.
And, let's look at I Corinthians 15:1-2:, " Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, (2) by which also you are saved, IF you hold fast that word which I preached to you - UNLESS YOU BELIEVED IN VAIN."(NKJV - Ephasis added).
(1). The person must truly believe the gospel to be saved in the first place.
(2). If the new person actually applies the principles of the gospel to his or her daily living.
Then the person is actually saved.
And this person doesn't want to sin.......but when sin occurs - I John 1:9 applies. Only after all of this, then the person will not be expelled by the Lord from redemption. Amen.
Grace and Peace.
Amen Rich!
