Greetings Prayer Room Participants,

Something has been brought to my attention that I need to address. It is our desire for this room to be a place to bring prayer requests and to ask for brothers and sisters in Christ to stand with us in our time of need. At the same time we need to be mindful of how we pray. By this, I mean that though we want to pray positively for others we need to be very careful regarding the language we use, especially when the request we are praying for involves another person who is part of the reason the prayer requests is being brought forth. We need to choose our words wisely and make sure that we are not digressing into a situation where we are name calling or accusing another of being of the devil.

There are number of factors I could go over, but think it not wise to give to much attention to negative actions and will simply encourage us to focus on the request and laying it before God without accusing another. For in any request our goal must always be a righteous outcome of which only God can know the exact answer that is needed in any situation.

Because this is a serious situation that can lead to other problems for individuals and TheNET our team will need to monitor the Prayer Room more closely and will need to remove remarks that appear to be derogatory.

If you see any comments that appear questionable please inform me immediately. You will stay anonymous and I will make the final judgment on the comment in question.

(NEW) Because this is an open group that is visible to the worldwide web we need to refrain from using names when praying for others without their permission.

Lord Bless,

LT

Annie, it is a heart-rending experience you are going through. But the Lord is with you and is hearing your prayer and He will deliver you. I am praying for you.

Psalms 55:16-18, 22:
16: As for me, I will call upon God, And the Lord shall save me.
17: Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice.
18: He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, For there were many against me.
22: Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

I have not been in here for week or so as I have been going through so much with my 27 yr old daughter,Kirsty. it's a long story I won't go into right now, and the Lord knows what I'm going through, She is with a man who has beaten into my 6 yr old grandson, he is controlling and caused so much grief for me with my other grown children. Manipulates and I have been his victim of emotional torment for 3 yrs now. It seems I am being punished for trying to protect Jacob, my grandson and they try to keep him from me so he doesn't expose more of his abuse as he knows I call authourities on him. He causes so much grief and I really truly believe this is spiritual warfare. I try to give it all to God but is so hard, and it's wearing me out. I have few illnesses and this doesn't help. He'Gary' is now planning to move them to another state thousands of miles away, where is has begun new job in mining. I don't want my daughter to go with him as there is no support for her or Jacob, especially Jacob. Kirsty has become like him. her heart has become cold and cruel, she swears at the kids, under 6 yrs old. I feel I am sinking into a deep hole I will be unable to climb out of. This man puts it over everyone,. please pray this man out of their lives, They had another 2 kids together for the money they recieve and still are not married. They have no shame. no compassion for little ones nor the sick. I use to pray for his soul, now I pray God removes him from thier lives, I don't know what to pray. I get very anxious over all of this and worry. He buys them with money and possessions and Kirsty has become very greedy and no longer cares I am ill, she too abuses me alot, verbally. when she visits I pray the blood of Jesus over myself for protection as she upsets me so very much, as I hear what comes out of her mouth, the way she talks to the children, and also me. She never use to be this way. But as she says, the most important thing in her life is Gary, when he beat Jacob at 2 yrs old, leaving him with black eye, she defended Gary and not her little boy, she still does it. I pray God moves soon and moves him on and out and leaves kirsty and kids here so I know they are safe. And I will miss them so very much if they go. . Please give me advise on what and how to pray about this and please pray for Kirsty and my grandchildren. Thankyou Annie

Derek, I am so blessed in my heart and soul for the real inspiration your experience and understanding in the Church are being to me.

Truly we are now in the midst of a very perverse and crooked generation, whose godless culture is the same every where, the west and the east. It's really saddening that the west where Christianity and godly living once prevailed has degenerated into blatant atheism, apostasy, and ungodliness.

Nonetheless, what the Holy Spirit is emphasizing in our discussion is the unshakeable hope we must have in the prevalence of the true Church in the midst of it all. It is this prevailing Church maintaining genuine Christian integriy in the midst of growing ungodliness that witnesses to our triumphant Lord, its Head and Sustainer.

The Lord is able to keep those who abide in Him from the evil one of this world as He prayed to the Father. But what is usually startling is the apparent invisibility of the true Church, but really invisible to those who seek to see it by natural eyes. The fact is the members of the Body of Christ, though knitted together in Christ, are here and there throughout the world, sometimes in simple remnant groups but they remain confident that the real Church exists and they are part of this wider company of the Church universal. It's just like we sharing these similar thoughts though separated by the vast Atlantic Ocean. It's amazing. But it defines the Church not according to the man-built visible religious organizations that seem to be disgracing the holy name of Christ but according to its being the real Body of Christ that the Lord nurtures just like any one does his body.

In closing, let me agree with you it is disheartening to see the falling away into apostasy in Christian organizations. But as we pray for them who fall away, let us find comfort in knowing it is not the real Church that falls into apostasy. The Church remains a shining beacon for all who are groping in the darkness of this world trying to find their way to the real thing. Those who fall away are like John mentions in 1 John 2:18-20:
"Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things."

And so while the falling away may shock us and even try to shake our confidence that we can remain standing, especially when we see some whom we looked highly to in these religious organizations fall so deeply, let us humbly find hope and inspiration from John. God has given us an anointing to know truth and to stand on it. And those who fall do not reveal any weakness in the true Church because they really might not have been gounded in the true Church though being prominent in the nominal Church organizations.

For instance, here is a Scripture passage of admonition that is always a blessing to me along the line of distinguishing between the religious organizations and the real Church whose Head is Christ. Colossians 2:18-19:
"Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God."

God bless you. I hope I did not write too much today.

Thanks for your comment PoemiaDei, Yes, lets keep praying for one another and for all the saints.
I notice that though I always held the doctrine of the Spiritual Body of Christ which is made up of every true believer in Christ, yet it is in the present circumstance of trial and conflict that this becomes more sharply defined. Didn't Paul say somewhere that disputes reveal those who are of the truth? Not that I am advocating disputes of course!
But I say this merely to keep my focus on the Lord and His Body. It is so easy to stray from this and to focus on issues of organization, even of doctrine, of style of worship, and etc., and lose sight of our first love, Jesus. The Ephesian Church in Revelation was a remarkable church by any ecclesiastical standard, but fell short of Christ's. And this is what makes me weep. The congregation I belong to is wonderful in many ways, but we are in danger of losing sight of the Lord.
So thankyou so much for your comment, it helps me and strengthens me as I read it.
I like the way you have brought in the historical context of God's work in the world. Europe is in the grip of atheistic secularism and the Christian church is treated as an object of scorn and pity, as something that has nothing to say and no part to play in the life of the nation. When we look at how the Gospel is advancing in other parts of the world we look with wonder and awe, but also with bewilderment as to why, with all our gifts here, things have become so difficult.
But you have reminded me that there are true believers here, that God's work is being done, that souls are being saved and built up in Christ. There is a remnant, and our responsibility in Christ is to remain faithful.

So bless you my brother for your prayers

Yours in His love

Derek

Your remark is wonderful, Derek. Coming out of your present real experience, it is so inspiring to me. It strengthened a thoought I have had that if we will focus of the real Church as the Body of Christ, and on Jesus Christ, the triumphant Head of the Church, we will have a different perception of the real Church in history than the rise and wane account of historians who wrote about what they saw in the religious church organizations. If we believe in the words of Jesus when He said the Church He builds cannot be affected by the gates of Hell, then we will see the Church as triumphantly growing throughout its history. So that while church organizations crumble, the true members of His Body, sometimes a few remnant, sometimes many more at any point in time, remain strong in Him or, as you said, are found in Christ and faithful to Him. God bless you, my dear friend. Let's keep praying for one another.

Thankyou Johaness and Poemiadei for your comments. Very helpful indeed.
I am finding as I walk this path I am in at the moment that the Lord Jesus Christ and His headship of the Church is becoming a central part of my thinking. This is far more important than anything else.

So a particular church falls apart? Disaster strikes? Does this really matter? Not really, to be found in Christ and being faithful to Him, this is of first importance. In the light of the blessing of His face all else fades into insignificance.

Thankyou for your prayers and please keep praying for me

Thanks, Johaness, for your exhortation. It's inspiring. We have to break away from the fear and faithlessness that threaten us daily and take that walk of faith into the promises given to us by the word of God. We must exercise faith in God because the things of God will always be beyond our natural mind and abilities. And so, we must look away from our own feebleness and limitations and rely on the Almighty God to take us through. I thank God further down in the Scripture passage you referred to we are comforted and encouraged with the fact that we have Jesus Christ as our High Priest touched with every feeling of our weaknesses. And so understanding our precise needs Jesus intercedes for us to give us the grace and strength we need to overcome.

Hebrews 4:15-16: "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

God bless all of you in the prayer room. Please pray for me.

Carla,
Just saw your prayer request, if it not too late, just want to say, I add my prayers with others that you will find the strength and inspiration in the Lord that you need right now.
Those who wait with eager expectation will receive the promises that you are looking for.
I've remembered the context of these promises! I am in a very weak place myself at the moment [see my prayer request today] but I've remembered what goes before verse 31 in Isaiah chapter 40.
Hallelu Jah! It is when we are weary and weak, when we grow tired and when we stumble and fall [not necesarily into sin, the picture is one of a runner so exhausted that they stumble and fall and need to get up again to carry on [[there is a famous scene in an Olympic Games where the runner who was winning, entered the Stadium but was so weak he couldn't run in a straight line, but he had to complete one lap of the track to reach the finishing line. The whole crowd all stood and roared their encouragement to him, he finally reached it and collapsed, completely worn out by his exertions. But has gone down in history for a famous win against all odds.]]]
Perhaps what we need to do is to lean all our weariness onto our great Saviour and Captain, Jesus. "Come unto me all you who are weary.." He said. Matthew 11.28.

Thankyou for fellowship in weakness,

In the Love of the Lord Jesus

Derek
