Greetings Prayer Room Participants,

Something has been brought to my attention that I need to address. It is our desire for this room to be a place to bring prayer requests and to ask for brothers and sisters in Christ to stand with us in our time of need. At the same time we need to be mindful of how we pray. By this, I mean that though we want to pray positively for others we need to be very careful regarding the language we use, especially when the request we are praying for involves another person who is part of the reason the prayer requests is being brought forth. We need to choose our words wisely and make sure that we are not digressing into a situation where we are name calling or accusing another of being of the devil.

There are number of factors I could go over, but think it not wise to give to much attention to negative actions and will simply encourage us to focus on the request and laying it before God without accusing another. For in any request our goal must always be a righteous outcome of which only God can know the exact answer that is needed in any situation.

Because this is a serious situation that can lead to other problems for individuals and TheNET our team will need to monitor the Prayer Room more closely and will need to remove remarks that appear to be derogatory.

If you see any comments that appear questionable please inform me immediately. You will stay anonymous and I will make the final judgment on the comment in question.

(NEW) Because this is an open group that is visible to the worldwide web we need to refrain from using names when praying for others without their permission.

Lord Bless,

LT

A friend sent this to me this morning and I cried when I read it. I wanted to pass this on to everyone here. Please read
GOD LIVES UNDER THE BED

I envy Kevin. My brother, Kevin, thinks God lives under his bed. At least that's what I heard him say one night.

He was praying out loud in his dark bedroom, and I stopped to listen, 'Are you there, God?' he said. 'Where are you? Oh, I see. Under the bed....'

I giggled softly and tiptoed off to my own room. Kevin's unique perspectives are often a source of amusement. But that night something else lingered long after the humor. I realized for the first time the very different world Kevin lives in.

He was born 30 years ago, mentally disabled as a result of difficulties during labor. Apart from his size (he's 6-foot-2), there are few ways in which he is an adult.

He reasons and communicates with the capabilities of a 7-year-old, and he always will. He will probably always believe that God lives under his bed, that Santa Clause is the one who fills the space under our tree every Christmas and that airplanes stay up in the sky because angels carry them.

I remember wondering if Kevin realizes he is different. Is he ever dissatisfied with his monotonous life?

Up before dawn each day, off to work at a workshop for the disabled, home to walk our cocker spaniel, return to eat his favorite macaroni-and-cheese for dinner, and later to bed.

The only variation in the entire scheme is laundry, when he hovers excitedly over the washing machine like a mother with her newborn child.

He does not seem dissatisfied.

He lopes out to the bus every morning at 7:05, eager for a day of simple work.

He wrings his hands excitedly while the water boils on the stove before dinner, and he stays up late twice a week to gather our dirty laundry for his next day's laundry chores.

And Saturdays - oh, the bliss of Saturdays! That's the day my Dad takes Kevin to the airport to have a soft drink, watch the planes land, and speculate loudly on the destination of each passenger inside. 'That one's goin' to Chi-car-go! ' Kevin shouts as he claps his hands.

His anticipation is so great he can hardly sleep on Friday nights.

And so goes his world of daily rituals and weekend field trips.

He doesn't know what it means to be discontent.

His life is simple.

He will never know the entanglements of wealth of power, and he does not care what brand of clothing he wears or what kind of food he eats. His needs have always been met, and he never worries that one day they may not be.

His hands are diligent. Kevin is never so happy as when he is working. When he unloads the dishwasher or vacuums the carpet, his heart is completely in it.

He does not shrink from a job when it is begun, and he does not leave a job until it is finished. But when his tasks are done, Kevin knows how to relax.

He is not obsessed with his work or the work of others. His heart is pure.

He still believes everyone tells the truth, promises must be kept, and when you are wrong, you apologize instead of argue.

Free from pride and unconcerned with appearances, Kevin is not afraid to cry when he is hurt, angry or sorry. He is always transparent, always sincere. And he trusts God.

Not confined by intellectual reasoning, when he comes to Christ, he comes as a child. Kevin seems to know God - to really be friends with Him in a way that is difficult for an 'educated' person to grasp. God seems like his closest companion.

In my moments of doubt and frustrations with my Christianity, I envy the security Kevin has in his simple faith.

It is then that I am most willing to admit that he has some divine knowledge that rises above my mortal questions.

It is then I realize that perhaps he is not the one with the handicap. I am. My obligations, my fear, my pride, my circumstances - they all become disabilities when I do not trust them to God's care.

Who knows if Kevin comprehends things I can never learn? After all, he has spent his whole life in that kind of innocence, praying after dark and soaking up the goodness and love of God.

And one day, when the mysteries of heaven are opened, and we are all amazed at how close God really is to our hearts, I'll realize that God heard the simple prayers of a boy who believed that God lived under his bed.

Kevin won't be surprised at all!

When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached. This is powerful

Father, I lift to You each prayer request. I ask for healing and comfort for Your people (and their pets too). Please strengthen and help us. Please pour out Your blessings so much that we can't find the containers to hold it all. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Her middle name was Jane and so she was Betty Jane Wilson. What does your J stand for?
Comment by RoyW on September 20, 2010 at 10:25am
My mother is Betty. She is 81. Her most precious possession is a dog. I am not offended and I will pray.

God bless you, Betty. I don't see that name often.

Yazmin, you are not doing anything wrong; you are doing everything right and must continue! Satan is a liar; the stronger your faith is, the harder he's going to work to distract you, and try to pull you away from God and your faith. Satan is out to weaken your resolve and make you believe that God is not listening to you, that He doesn't care about you or your prayers and the worst part is, Satan is good at it! Think about it; the EASIEST thing to believe is the worst of your fears, especially since he sets up every thing around you, your thoughts, beliefs, and your reality to make it look like you are alone, unworthy, and undeserving, and unloved by your God, Our Lord and Savior. It's all a lie, Yazmin. You are a beloved child of God and He loves you just as much and more so than you love your own children! KNOW THAT, Yazmin, and try to never forget it because He promises you that and He sent His ONLY SON, HIS ONLY SON to confirm that. If none of this was true, Satan would be have nothing to fight us for and he'd be out of business. Remember too that Jesus Himself was tormented by Satan, taunting Him and tempting Him just like he does us so don't think for a second that He doesn't understand our weaknesses, temptations, and doubts and loves us anyway. God knows how much you are suffering and cries with you. He needs you to know and believe that; He needs to you to believe and know that His plan for you and your children is bigger and better than you can imagine and is for the best of all involved. Yazmin, as hard as this is for us to believe sometimes, we must. If we can't, Satan wins. God sent His only son, Jesus to suffer to save us. What has SATAN done for us? Because of God's love and grace, in the end Satan's lies only serve to make it easier to love and worship Our Father, because by comparison, THERE IS NO COMPARISON! We can console ourselves and each other in Him by remembering the feelings His love and grace in every blessing gives us. For instance, think back when you first held your babies in your arms. Think on that and how you felt then. Let it warm your heart again and know that you will feel that again very soon. Close your eyes and feel His loving arms around you and even though we can't see it, trust Him, He's working on it...! Much love and blessings to you my sister and know that my prayers are filled with your prayers... Paula

Please pray for divine healing of my 9 year old daughter Malele (Miracles), the 4th born of my five girls who has been HIV+ since birth. By the grace of God she is not on ART. She is the only child who is HIV+ but she doesnt know her status. Also pray for my divine healing from HIV. I have been on ART since July 2006. I took the first line of treatment/therapy for 3 years and had adverse reactions until I met one Doctor who offered to put me on the other drug which is slightly expensive. He arranges quarterly supplies for me. I dont want my little girl to pass through what I am passing through. She talks about having children of her own when she grows up and whenever I am out of her sight, I cry to God. I am tired of swelling these tablets everyday and I have cried to God asking Him to intervene. I have fasted, I have travelled for interational prayer and fasting camps with my daughter. Maybe there is something I am not doing right, please help my daughter as you help me.
