Dear brothers and sisters,
I thank God for all of you and the blessings you have all been to me. I've not been a Christian for very long but I have found so much fellowship and have learned so much about myself and Christ, as well as being a human being (I've been a bit of a blob for many years, to be honest) from each of you. I've been encouraged, taught, understood and empathized with (as well as being helped to grow as a person) and I pray that God will bless each of you and your families endlessly.
I come to you at a time of great sorrow for my local church, a branch of our extended spiritual family, as a variety of circumstances have built up over time and we are now trusting many lives, hopes and faiths into God's hands. I was wondering if I may request some help praying for these situations.
I don't entirely know how the individual members would feel about me sharing their stories with those they do not know (though I am fairly certain that they would appreciate any support at this time), so I'm sure you can understand if I only provide initials as opposed to names and loose details. God knows the full extent of these situations and he knows the correct course for their lives now, I simply would like to get as much prayer support as possible please.
One of our members, J, has slipped two discs in his back and requires surgery. We don't know when it will happen, his pain has increased and it seems as though he is taking one step forward and two steps back due to the decisions made by his doctors. His wife is pregnant and they already have young children, as well as a few family living disruptions. Prayers for healing, peace, comfort and swiftness/wisdom for the doctors associated would be wonderful.
I would also like to ask for healing, peace and comfort for the members of our church that are going through grieving at the moment. N lost her father last week, Y lost his grandfather a few weeks ago... B has just lost her oldest son who was, to our knowledge, not a Christian. One of the couples in our church has recently suffered their second miscarriage as well and I would greatly appreciate prayers for healing and help for them retain their trust in God and his plans for their future. Emotional and spiritual healing requests would be lovely, with a physical healing request for the sister whose body may have been damaged by this tragic occurance...
There are also issues with N moving into a home of her own, this has been on-going for weeks and new issues have arisen with the organization in charge of the home she is so close to being able to move into, as well as potential trust issues between other members due to an incident in which helpful intentions went a little awry.
Another member is adjusting to full-time work after having surgery to remove a brain tumour about a year ago, the warm weather has made it difficult for him and his wife is doing her best to support him. It'd be wonderful if we could pray for healing and wisdom for this couple as they move forward in their lives with the new life God has blessed them with.
God knows all our needs before we even ask however there is something astounding about many voices coming together in support for each other, please help me to pray for these beautiful family members who are desperately in need for our God to step in and soothe them.
And, not meaning to be cheeky here, I would also like to request prayers for a swift diagnosis for myself if possible, please. I went to the doctor today and had my joints and sensation awareness tested, I am now being referred to a neurologist to get an MRI to check for lesions that would indicate multiple sclerosis. It's fairly common for these referrals to take a long, long time to come to pass and while I do not mind waiting I know it will be an anxious time for my family. The sooner the MRI is done, the sooner we can make the next step and regardless of the results it will still provide vital answers.
I would also like to give thanks to God for each day he has chosen to give us so that we may come together and spread the love he has so graciously imparted unto us. He loves us despite our faults and has such great things in mind for us. We may not understand all that happens in this life but that's okay because our God is greater.
I thank God, too, for the miracle of medicine that he has allowed us to benefit from. From the doctors who diagnose to the medicines and surgeries that enhance life for those who are sick and injured, God has simply blessed us with his never-ending grace and healing!
Thank you also, Father, for the baptisms that took place this last Sunday. It was a beautiful day with plenty to celebrate - thank you so much for bringing people together in your love and grace.
He is with us always but when negative situations come about we can forget that. Please pray for these families and individuals, that they may receive what they need from God, and also that they may learn to trust in him all the more through this.
Thank you.
"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23:4 (ESV)

Wow, Rachel, this sounds like a pretty rough time for your church family. I join you in prayer for them that God will move mightily in your midst to touch lives and heal those that are in need of healing. In Jesus name.
Bless you Chip. I'm right with you. Let God's power break out in that place.
Praying
Hi Sister Rachel,
Thank you for sharing and requesting prayer for your church family. This is in accordance with Ephesians 6:18, " With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints."
And, I Peter5: 8-11," Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (9) But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. (10) And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.(11) To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen."
Almighty God,
We ask that you embrace Your outpost of saints in the UK just now........for they are not struggling with flesh and blood, but against that old serpent, the devil, and his agents. Father, help them to be strong in the strength of Your might. Assist each one to gird their loins with truth....and to fit their bodies with the breastplate of righteousness....shod their feet with preparation of the Gospel of Peace....Also, Father, help these saints to pick up the shield of faith, with which fiery darts will be extinguished....then to top off Your armor with the helmet of salvation. And Father, last but surely not least....the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
That, Father, each one of these warriors of Yours will prove that their faith is more precious than gold, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
And Father, that this faithful fragment of Yours will have as their rallying cry, from Your prophet Zechariah in his Chapter 4, and from Verse 6: "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts."
Amen.
Amen, Rachel!
Father God, I stand in agreement with my brothers and sisters for healing to granted to Rachel's church. Father, if there exists any negative situations that may hinder healing, please reveal them to the church so that repentance and forgiveness may be sought. Stir each individual to examine his/her heart, just like the Psalmist said: "Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts; And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." For healing to begin, Father, we know that cleansing must occur. As Christians, we are called to be different. Thank You, Father, for Your divine intervention. Asking in the precious name of Christ Jesus. Amen.
"And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt in every man the measure of faith." Romans 12:1,2
