Please pray...

It's so hard to think clearly right now...

I'm tired of being afraid of the JW's. I put up a cross on the kitchen door. Something popped into my head...about how something would be said (for that's the door the JW's come to). Here's the cross,

I'm sick and tired of this fear. I don't want to take down this cross...

I'm afraid. His coming is so near...they (family,JW's) need Him. Yet, if much is said of anything (unless it agrees with their doctrine) it's liable to make this situation worse. It's like mom and this family is held hostage spiritually....now it's like I'm held hostage spiritually/mentally.

I wanted to help out with spreading the gospel...Lord please take Your needed credit...I'm now just so confused. I'm really not sure what He wants me to do now...

I'm not strong Biblically. My mind can still easily be molded by lies...trying to talk to the JW's about about doctrine...they have very strong and deceptive words. Not to mention they can play with a person's emotions (which really would be bad for me right now).

Can you guys please pray? For their salvations and that He takes over and makes a way possible...

I'm easy pray for the JW's and their deception...All I can ask for is prayer...and to please pray for this situation is getting unbearable.

Feetbreeze, did into God's wod, the Bible.

There are many online helps, and look up verses/ "Thy word I have hid in my heart, that I may not sin against thee""

the point here is...put the word in your heart. the more you read and learn, the better answer you can give.

I have been tripped by JWs before, but the last time, the word I gave to them went well.

Were you dealing with newer JW's are ones who's been in it a long time?

The problems are

1.My mom is in the middle of this.

2.They use a false translation.

It means to memorize scripture, and stories.

I used the story of King Saul. the prophet Samuel said "tomorrow you and your son will be with me"

Which meant the next day, they both died in battle, and wnte to be with Samuel, in heaven.

King saul, and his son went to be with the Lord, right then. And one of the JWs had a look in her eye, that said "that's interesting, I didn't know that".

so faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God, the Bible. I use a King James version, and a "Living Bible" side by side.

Brother, memorize scripture? Please pray His Spirit helps me to do that. I know 2 Corinth. 12:9 (although it's not memorized,the Holy Spirit has reminded me of it) is suppose to be comforting....please pray for I'm very anxious in spirit. I have trouble with reading...

My sister is a JW! We NEVER agree on what the Bible teaches, especially in John Chapter one. They claim that the Word" was "a" god! The thing I say to my JW sister is: "Your Bible suggests that there are two gods. My Bible states that there is only ONE: The "Word" was God!" JW's are brainwashed, I'm sorry to say this. You can always challenge them to read your Bible. They most likely will not!

Having said all that, I must add that it is important for you to study the Scriptures so that you can be armed with a sound defence. Asking the Holy Spirit's help will give you guidance and understanding. If you're in the US, I am willing to do a Bible Study with you based on the King James or New King James version of the Bible.

Draw close to God, and He will draw close to you. Ask Him to reveal the "truth" of His Word, and He will! Stand firm. Know that Jesus is God in the flesh (Immanuel - God with us.) This is another thing Jehovah witnesses deny!

"Loving Heavenly Father, thank You for grace and mercy. Thank You for Jesus and His finished work on the Cross. Father God I stand with this dear sister before Your Throne of grace, asking humbly for her to receive understanding and knowledge of the Truth of Your Word, so that she can be armed mentally and spiritually to resist the fiery darts of the JW's erroneous teachings. Please also grant this dear sister peace within as she embraces Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Thank You, Father. In Jesus name, Amen."

It's ok to say they're brainwashed. It's the absolute truth. Mom and I was showing the elder's wife a very old KJV Bible. Later on mom commented to me that she (the elder's wife) looked scared. How tragic...They deffintly don't want to use any other translations. If I showed something from my Bible they'd point it out in their NWT. I asked before about the word Godhead (this was years ago that I asked). I think he, the elder, ether said he's never heard of it or that it's not in the NWT...how tragic.

Yep, Jesus is the Word (God) made flesh! Amen! I knew it but when the Holy Spirit let me see that truth in John 1...wow! when I actually read the words from...read verse 1 and than verse 14. It's like, beyond wow! He really opened my eyes while reading that one day.

Since you metioned translations, I rely on the KJV, as the final word of God.

But all other translations, help me understad the KJV. So if I get stuck in the old english, I get out a modern translation.

Over at Crosswalk.com, there is a area to look up bible verses in about 20 different bibles. So again, If I want to dig deeper, or gain more understanding, I use their online concordance.

Take a few key verses, and memorize them, try to do one or two a week to start.

Feetbreeze, the bible says "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you".

I see your hunger for the word of God, and to draw closer, your going to do just fine,

Oh, yes, yes, please pray for my sister. Thanks heaps. Together we'll pray for all JW's. [They don't believe in the Trinity...I think that might have something to do with them not relating to the Godhead.]

With reference to your question, see answer in brackets" "I'm in the U.S [I was offering to do a Bible Study with you as I am able to make free calls from Canada! But what's that have to do with translations? [Some translations actually omit whole verses.]"

:) My sister doesn't have a nickname...but her name is Holly. I love her dearly. She is a sweet spirit. Nothing seems to bother her.

I am your neighbour from Toronto, Canada! My passion is searching the Scriptures so that I am equipped to lift high the name of Jesus, the Messiah. I want to know His truth not man's interpretation. So my friends and I study the Bible, Verse by Verse with the Holy Spirit giving us understanding. It's really amazing! When we seek God with our whole heart, we really do find Him, and He draws close.

I like what John P. wrote. He is a good ambassador for Christ! Amen!
