Information

The Joy of the Lord is our strengh.

Let's have a laugh. We are criticized by outsiders because of the many divisions among our Christian family, but for now let’s put all that aside in this group and have a laugh about it. THIS GROUP IS OPEN TO ALL WHO WANT TO JOIN

How many _________ does it take to change a light bulb?

1. Charismatics? Only one since his/her hands are always in the air anyway.

2. Presbyterians? None. God has predestined when the lights will be on and off.

3. Baptists? CHANGE???????

4. Pentecostals? Ten. One to change the bulb and nine to pray against the spirit of darkness.

5. Catholics? None. They always use candles.

6. Episcopalians? Ten. One to actually change the bulb, and nine to say how much they liked the old one.

7. Church of Christ? None. There's no evidence that light bulbs were ever changed in New Testament times.

8. United Methodists? We choose not to make a statement either in favor of or against the need for a light bulb. However, if in your own journey you have found that light bulb works for you, that is fine. You are invited to write a poem or compose a modern dance about your personal relationship to your light bulb and present it next month at our annual light bulb Sunday service, in which we will explore a number of light bulb traditions, including incandescent, fluorescent, three-way, long-life, and tinted, all of which are equally valid paths to luminescence through Jesus Christ

GOD'S ARMY

I'm not much of a fisherman, but I've heard of a fisherman who always came back with a great catch. Every time he went out, he would return with chests full of bass, trout, catfish, etc. Nobody could believe his skill, especially not the game warden who lived down the block. Wondering how this guy did it, the warden invited himself along on the next fishing trip. The two made an appointment, headed for the water, and began to unload. The warden couldn't believe his eyes. His neighbor had no rods or reels, no bait, no trot lines...nothing. But he kept his mouth shut. He had come to learn.
They got in the boat, and went out in the middle of a large lake. When the boat was still, the great fisherman pulled out some dynamite, lit it, and threw it into the water. All kinds of fish began floating to the surface. "Do you know what you're doing?" shouted the warden. "You must be nuts! You've just broken every ordinance in the book. I'm sworn by the laws of this state, friendship or no friendship, to
see that you are punished. I've never seen anything like this, I..." His buddy just kept scooping up fish as fast as he could, then lit another stick of dynamite, handed it to him, and said "Are you going to talk, or are you going to fish?"
We are called to be fishers of men. Too many Christians spend their time talking, but never wet a hook. (I'm not recommending the use of explosives.) God has a remnant of people He wants to use to claim lives and territory for Jesus Christ. So as God's army, let me ask you: Are you going to talk, or are you going to fish?
MEMORY VERSE

ROMANS 13:12
Let us therefore lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

taken from a daily word,

Thank you beloved Liz. You are a blessing to me too with your zeal to be bold about God's truth and business and yet have a wacky sense of humor like your knucklehead brother here. God bless you girl. You special.
