The Joy of the Lord is our strengh.

Let's have a laugh. We are criticized by outsiders because of the many divisions among our Christian family, but for now let’s put all that aside in this group and have a laugh about it. THIS GROUP IS OPEN TO ALL WHO WANT TO JOIN

How many _________ does it take to change a light bulb?

1. Charismatics? Only one since his/her hands are always in the air anyway.

2. Presbyterians? None. God has predestined when the lights will be on and off.

3. Baptists? CHANGE???????

4. Pentecostals? Ten. One to change the bulb and nine to pray against the spirit of darkness.

5. Catholics? None. They always use candles.

6. Episcopalians? Ten. One to actually change the bulb, and nine to say how much they liked the old one.

7. Church of Christ? None. There's no evidence that light bulbs were ever changed in New Testament times.

8. United Methodists? We choose not to make a statement either in favor of or against the need for a light bulb. However, if in your own journey you have found that light bulb works for you, that is fine. You are invited to write a poem or compose a modern dance about your personal relationship to your light bulb and present it next month at our annual light bulb Sunday service, in which we will explore a number of light bulb traditions, including incandescent, fluorescent, three-way, long-life, and tinted, all of which are equally valid paths to luminescence through Jesus Christ

Sitting at railroad tracks waiting for the train to pass or at the stoplight because a train is going by, I bring along a book and have gotten a lot of reading done or clean out my car.  I don't like waiting either.

Amen, to that one.

Yup waiting on the Lord is not a problem, I have learned to wait with anticipation and excitement, because he always surprises me and goes far beyond what I ever imagined. So AWESOME

Yep, I am the same way. If I have a meeting, I am always early. Who are these people that think they are so important that everyone should be forced to sit around waiting on them? However, I am learning to wait on the Lord. He is worth waiting on but I don't know about anyone else. Well, I have also learned to wait on my wife. Of course, we all have to wait around on the boss. Waiting! Blah! Lord, when are you going to get here? Well, I know the salvation of that last soul is very important. I guess I just can't win on this one.

I don't wait pretty either...got to keep going, so I now what you mean..... detest tardiness with a passion and here in Africa everything works on Africa time.......try setting a meeting for 10am.......you will be very lucky if your guest speaker arrives by 1pm......and everyone else must just wait.......i have become quite notorious for not waiting, if my meeting is scheduled for 10am I will wait until 10:15 then I leave... and if they want me they can come and find me if I am still avalible. People are learning to be on time, but I can tell you it has been a long and often painful proccess.

I don't like waiting. My wife can attest to that. I live on the other side of the tracks and sure enough, every time I am running late, a very slow train comes running by forcing me to sit there and wait. I tell my wife that I am sure someone is telling that train when to come by knowing what time I will be there. Who are these people that know that much about us?

Don't even mention Africa in the same breath, our public transport system works like this, you go to the Transport information office snd ask for a bus timetable for the area in which you live and once you have the timetable you ask the attendant how reliable the bus is and they say the transport runs according to the schedule and being very happy with this reply, the next day you find the nearest buss stop on your route and wait........and wait........and wait.....and then you phone the Information centre and ask them when the bus will come and they ask you what your schedule says so you tell them.....and add that no bus has yet arrived....... so they say don't lie the schedule says that a bus runs every half an hour or so and this is how it is. regardless of wether or not there has been a bus in 8 hours. so if we just print a schedule then there is a bus that runs in someones airy fairy imagination.
