What does it mean that the church is the bride of Christ?"
Question: "What does it mean that the church is the bride of Christ?"
The imagery and symbolism of marriage is applied to Christ and the body of believers known as the church. These are those who have trusted in Jesus Christ as their personal savior and have received eternal life. In the New Testament, Christ, the Bridegroom, has sacrificially and lovingly chosen the church to be His bride (Ephesians 5:25-27). Just as there was a betrothal period in biblical times during which the bride and groom were separated until the wedding, so is the bride of Christ separate from her Bridegroom during the church age. Her responsibility during the betrothal period is to be faithful to Him (2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:24). At the Second Coming of Christ, the church will be united with the Bridegroom, the official "wedding ceremony" will take place and, with it, the eternal union of Christ and His bride will be actualized (Revelation 19:7-9; 21:1-2).

As we were finally finishing our study of Revelations which we have been doing for a year. We talked about the return of Christ as a mighty warrior. the bride follows on white horses with white linan robes; Wow a army in white! Well we know He will concour the enemy with the word of his mouth and we will witness it. There we all are in our white graduation gowns ready to rule and reign with the Bride groom.
Maybe John saw your face in that crowd or mine.

I know it is hard for us guys to wrap it around our brains the thought of us being the Bride of Christ. As we examine this subject we will be thrilled at what it means for all of us.

Dear Bob; Thanks so much, I have watched 2 videos so far. It makes me want to do my very best to ready myself. Although I fall short. But each day I pray to the Lord to forgive me and try again to be the pleasing child. I really want God to look at me and be pleased. Is that being to hard on myself?

I cannot imagine being the Bride of Christ. What an incredible honour & blessing. May HIS fire burn within us as we anticipate HIS return.
Thanks for this discussion, Bob. Makes me want to start practising living as if Jesus has already come back, in a sweet communion with Him.
I wonder...will we have a prayer life after HE comes back? Hmmm Or will we each be able to talk to HIM face to face whenever we want to. That would be amazing.

Dear Bob, thank you for telling me about this group. The video clip was so beautiful i nearly came to tears. I guess kinda like you do when you are at a Wedding. Awseome is the Lord. Praise to God for the beautiful people here who lift me up.
