The Only True Pleasure

This world owes me nothing, and I want the world to know...
The pleasures that I partake of - what could it possibly owe?
I cannot boast of material possessions, these things I’ve not acquired
I have not become wealthy or famous; though I’ve reached a plateau far higher

I’ve wanted to see above the clouds; though in a plane I’ve never flown...
Still I’ve reached the greatest height of all’ the love of God - I’ve known
Though I was offered to sip on champagne and nibble on homemade bread...
In remembrance of Jesus... I drank wine and ate crumbs instead

I have not sailed on the Mediterranean, have never been out to sea
Blessed be I - Baptized in Jesus’ name; after realizing who He was.... to me
I’ve never seen the Grand Canyon nor have I been to Mt. Everest
Still I’ve climbed from rags to riches in Heaven... a higher peak - I’ll attest

The world’s greatest gift; My Lord, the only true pleasure...
In Him I have blessed peace which I shall forever treasure
The world owes me absolutely nothing; once again I repeat...
In the world I’ve learned of My Father; which makes my life complete!!!
