All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

was reading this today after my quiet time with our Heavenly Father and felt His urging to post this.
We certainly do need each other within the Body of Christ but at the same time we must be careful that it is not the glory we receive from others that we are counting on. it is GOD who ultimately LIFTS us and it is Him we rely on to maintain our joy and strength in Him.
People are not always going to be there and what would become of us if they were all of a sudden gone for one reason or another. Could we face the day without their constant encouragement?
Our relationship with God and that time we spend with Him in secret is what should and WILL maintain our joy and peace. It is ultimately God's word and time we spend seeking HIM that defines us.

These following words were written by Rick Joyner in a book titled,The Journey Begins

Bondage to the material reveals that we believe only in our minds and not in our hearts. When we believe only in our hearts, eternal things become more real than temporary things. The temporary things can no longer keep us yoked to them. When our treasure really is in Heaven, our hearts will be there too.
But not all the cares and worries of this world are related to material possessions. Some are based on the choking bondage to men's approval. This is also the prevailing of the temporary over the eternal. Jesus asked,"How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another, and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?" (John 5:44)
Seeking honor and recognition from men, even Spiritual men, instead of maintaining the "SIMPLICITY...of devotion to Christ"(2 Corinthians 11:3), is a grievous enemy of faith.

I so agree, Grace By The Lake, and I know that giving first place to Jesus is what I most need in my life. It is too easy to get caught up in self, and, as a result, try to give to others out of a need to satisfy my own ego. If I am not serving you and others out of a pure heart for Jesus and out of genuine love and grace, seeking nothing in return, I need more time with the Lord; for my "love tank" is not full, and none other than Christ Jesus can fill me. Reaching out to you or anyone else will only act as a siphon on us both unless I first go to the Lord to be nourished in His Perfect Love. For He pours out to us endlessly from His abundant storehouse of riches in Christ Jesus, and there is no end to His bounty. I need to look into the mirror of my soul, and if I do not see Jesus shining back at me, then I am not prepared to give out to others until I get fed. For I have to be able to give you Jesus in me, for without Him, I am nothing.

Thank you, Grace By The Lake. Truly, you could not have spoken truer words. Jesus alive in me is my Comforter! Amen! Alleluia!

This spoke powerfully to me today, as I heard the Lord tell me to seek Him for all things, absolutely all in my life. He is truly my Sufficiency, and He knows my every need. He is my Shepherd, and I shall never be in want. Amen! Alleluia!
