The Acts church
We are so full of meetings, appointments, activities that today’s Christian sadly misses the blessing of true fellowship, some have been hurt in church and shy away from it all together, but this should not be so. Where have we gone wrong and how can we help the situation. Ideas?
Acts 2:41-47
41 So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand people were added. 42 They were devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Reverential awe came over everyone, and many wonders and miraculous signs came about by the apostles. 44 All who believed were together and held everything in common, 45 and they began selling their property and possessions and distributing the proceeds to everyone, as anyone had need. 46 Every day they continued to gather together by common consent in the temple courts, breaking bread from house to house, sharing their food with glad and humble hearts, 47 praising God and having the good will of all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number every day those who were being saved.
For those of us who live in huge cities know that we can be surrounded by millions and yet feel so lonely. We all have so many walls up. We are Christians and it should not be so at church. How can we help this horrible epidemic?

I know exactly what you mean sis Nancy. I think that folks have a hard time being burnable, which comes with allowing folks in. Appearances mean so much in the world that it keeps people from being real and dealing with their hurts and issues.

Let me start by saying that I truly enjoyed reading your post. Right on bro. You have express so many simple yet deep truth that I am having a hard time deciding how to get going on my comment to your comment, but I have decide to just echoing something you mentioned:
"It has become easier to live a false Christ religion than to live the true Christ church," unfortunately some have fallen for this lie. The truth is that life becomes joyful and easier to bear and become a blessing when we truly live for God.

Love Jesus More Than Life (10:38-39)
We must love Jesus not only more than our families but more than our own lives. For all our talk about low self-esteem these days (and most of us do view ourselves as less than what God has called us to be), the vast majority of people still cling desperately to life (compare Eph 5:29; Epict. Disc. 2.22.15-16). But the moment we become Christ's followers, our own lives and wills become forfeit; we die with Christ to sin (that is, to the right to make selfish choices; Rom 6:3-4) and choose a path that could lead any day to our execution for Christ's name (Mt 16:24). Although we may speak glibly today of "our cross" as the need to put up with Aunt Molly or a leaky roof, "taking up the cross" in Jesus' day meant being forced to bear the instrument of one's execution past a jeering mob to the site of one's imminent death as a condemned criminal (see Hengel 1977).
The promise of eternal life should be sufficient motivation for any who genuinely believe Jesus' claims-it doesn't take a math major to recognize that the greatest mortal longevity pales in comparison with eternity-but we sometimes prove less committed than we suppose (26:41). That even the first disciples were not initially prepared for such a demand (26:56) does not mitigate the level of commitment our Lord seeks from us: if we want to be followers of Jesus, we must be ready to die.
