...I don't know what to think right now! My husband and I were talking about the number seven, I thought it meant "miracle" he thought something else. God made the world and rested on the seventh day...I know there is significance. (it has a particular significance to me reguarding my son, I called him my miracle baby). I looked up the meaning on the computer and I don't know what to think... http://www.biblestudy.org/bibleref/meaning-of-numbers-in-bible/7.html Is this credible??? I'm not going to pay attention to it if it isn't...If someone has knowledge in this area I would GREATLY appreciate it!
In Christ,
Hello Debbie, I am new here but....wow I was wondering the same thing about the number seven...when you have time read Genesis chapter 7....I was in awe of how many times the number 7 is mentioned..! Dont know wy the Holy Spirit brought that to my attention...
Roz
Just read that link you put up but it just all looks like insignificant junk to me.
How I have always understood the number 7 from the bible is this: First of all 6 is the number of man and the number of incompleteness. 7 is the number of completeness or the number of God because he is complete. At the same time the number 10 is also a number of completeness in the bible.
seven is considered a lucky number in my country. lucky 7 is a cigarette brand here, we have a motel here named lucky 7. if you have 7 children, you're lucky too. of course, if you have 7 enemies, you're not so lucky.
I think 7 means completion. I'm no scholar but, I was part of a bible teaching and they were sure it meant completeion, and I believe 8 stands for new beginning. If you find something different Debbie, please let me know.
in the philippines, our supertitions say 7 is a lucky number together with 13. but this is superstition, so i don't put much credence on it. why did you say 7 meant a miracle?
7 means alot, back tau book of genesis, God rested on this day, 7 mentioned churches, 7 is significant.
To me, i think 7 is completion, enough and etc.
GOD made heaven and earth in 6 days and all that is in the earth. GOD said the seventh day was for rest. We are not to do any work on the seventh day. So if the seventh day is meant for rest then that would be considered a day of peace also. when we follow his word exactly GOD gives us peace in our hearts. i would consider your miracle to be peace and rest in your heart. and the miracle brought completion in your heart by allowing your son to be here today. so the number seven is completion and he made your son complete. I hope find your answer that you are looking for
There is a really great website at www.carm.org It is the Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry...they answer questions like this. Here is the answer they gave for the number 7:
7 THE NUMBER OF SPIRITUAL PERFECTION. Seven days in a week. Seven colors in the spectrum. Seven of the 10 commandments begin with the word "not." There are 7 seals, 7 trumpets, 7 parables in Matthew, and 7 promises to the churches. There are 7 "eternals" in Hebrews which are: A priest for ever (1:6); Eternal salvation (1:9); Eternal judgment (6:2); eternal redemption (9:12); eternal spirit (9:14); eternal inheritance (9:15); and everlasting covenant (13:20). Jesus said 7 things on the cross: 1) Luke 23:34 "Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots; 2) Luke 23:43 Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise"; 3) Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" -- which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"; 4) John 19:26 "When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son"; 5) John 19:28 "Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty." 6) John 19:30 "When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit"; and 7) Luke 23:46 "Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last." "Hallelujah" occurs 28 times or 4 x 7. "Hosanna" occurs 7 times. "Milk" occurs 49 times or 7 x 7. "Abaddon" occurs 7 times. "After the order of Melchizedek" occurs 7 times.
