MEMORY VERSE: The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment (Psalm 37:30).
This beloved psalm begins with two important words: Fret not. It ends with three words that are the key to carrying out the command: Trust in him.
There are a number of direct commands given in the psalm that have to do with faith in action: Delight thyself also in the LORD (vs. 4); Commit thy way unto the LORD (vs. 5); Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him (vs. 7); and Cease from anger (vs.8).
A heart that is conformed to these commands will be evidenced by a tongue that speaks of wisdom and justice. That's biblical: A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things (Matthew 12:35).
How the world needs to hear from those who can contribute wisdom! Theories abound for meeting the problems faced by the inhabitants of this imperiled planet. Hopes run high at seemingly successful moves toward peace and then are dashed by the inconsistencies of fallen men who seek their own profit rather than genuine justice.
But there are answers.
And they are found in the Bible.
Let us fill our minds with God's Word so that we have His wisdom to impart to troubled people. Though the world seems to be in chaos, God's plan is working out as scheduled. Christ will come and take His bride away. Following the seven years of Tribulation, He will come as King of Kings and will establish justice and peace.
Talk about it! Others need to hear.
