MEMORY VERSE: The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD (Proverbs 16:1).
Too many never witness for Christ because they are afraid that when the opportunity comes they will not know what to say. Openings to speak or teach are refused and confrontations with those who have questions about the Bible are avoided for fear of becoming speechless at the crucial moment.
Relax.
The One within you has the answer. And He will give it to you when you need it. Even in difficult times, Christians are promised words for the occasion: And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say (Luke 12:11,12).
Bible verses may be difficult to remember. You've studied the Bible for years but shrink from engaging in conversation about it because you don't want to appear ignorant of the Scriptures. Consider this thrilling promise concerning the work of the Holy Spirit: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26). Step out in faith and see what the Lord does through you.
There is one important requirement.
The heart must be right.
All opportunities to speak for Christ call for prepared hearts. Is your heart right with God? Have you confessed all known sin to Him? Are you grieving the Holy Spirit? Are you quenching the Holy Spirit?
If your heart is right, speak up! The Lord will speak through you.
