All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Hello fellow Christian parents!

I feel blessed to be a member of this important group!

I so want to bring up my boys (see picture) in the Lord and yet I don't want to fight with them about attending worship service.  I really don't know what to do.  Should I force my boys to go to church or should I just invite them every week and pray that one Sunday they will accept?

Thanks for helping me to become a better Christian mommy.

In His Name,

Sharon.

Hi Rod,

Exactly. This is my very fear. That if I force them to attend mass they will rebel against me and the church when they get older and the teen years are when they really need the Lord!

And I can see the wisdom in how you are handling this falling away from the Church by your 14 year old son. And the fact that he has a warm and loving attitude is proof of your wisdom and of the good foundation you laid when he was little.

I will hold my boys in daily prayer and entrust them to His love.

Sharon
Shajip,

Yes, I so agree. I must be the first and best example for my kids. Home is the first (and best) school. I will do a personal prayer for each of my boys and ask the Father to protect and bless them.

Great advice!

In His Love,

Sharon.
Brother Shaji :) <3
Sarah,

Yes, discipline is important but I also relate to what your son, Nathaniel, is going through with the attractiveness of this world. My boys are just turning 7 and 8 years old so I still have them pretty much under my thumb but I so want them to walk in the Lord for life.

Thank you for your prayers and for your support.

May God Bless you,

Sharon.
Rod,

Thank you for your prayers and for your friendship.

You are truly a blessing to the Body of Christ.

Sharon.
Hi Sharon! I hope I can share what I have learned in raising my two children. My husband did not attend church with me so it was up to me to bring my little ones to church. From the very start of their little lives they were in church with me every Sunday, wednesday, whenever I went. I see your children are elementery school age. Have you been taking them to church with you from the beginning? Does their daddy go to? Is there agreement with your husband on them going to church? Does your church have a good youth teaching program? Do they have friends there? There may be reasons to address in answer to some of these questions..have they said why they don't want to go? I so amen brother Rod's comment all the way. Find out all you can about their resistance and share your joy of going to church and PRAY, PRAY, PRAY that God will work to draw them to Jesus. LOVE LOVE, LOVE them and share with them maybe why you like to go to church and what you get out of going. Share your faith with them, answers to prayer. scripture as much as you can to show them Your faith is important, vital and a BIG part of your life. Remember my dear sister, it is Jesus who we want them to be drawn to. Their seeing this relationship in your life can be the light to there way to wanting to follow Him too. I hope i gave some food for chewing. Love to you Sharon.
Hi Terrie!

My husband also does not attend church with me, he is an unbeliever
My boys have been to church with me but they get bored, even in the children’s program. So I have been going myself and then telling them how much I love to go and sharing the love of Jesus with them every day in every way.
They do know that my faith is important, vital and a BIG part of my life. In the car ‘mommy’s radio station’ is KLOVE (Christian radio), at home mommies favorite movie is ‘the Jesus movie’ (Matthew), and I am always praying and speaking with them about the Lord.

I just pray that my example will light their path and lead them home to Jesus.

In His Love,
Sharon.
Hi Sharon! Your reply has touched my heart in a deep way, remembering the younger years with my little ones and the struggles in going to church. I shouldn't say struggles because honestly, God in His wonderful overflowing grace and favor at the time made it that it was not a burden or hard thing to do. Remember God's Father Heart leads Him to give more favor, I believe in the situation when a daddy doesn't go to church with his family. Sharon. it sounds like you are doing all the right things with the right attitude of love! That is so beautiful to see and hear!! Be encouraged and uplifted in your walk as you continue to seek our Father's face and His guidance for you and your husband and boys! I just wanted to share with you a passage of scripture that He has given me years ago that I havee prayed and believed for, for my children. He may have given it to you, too. Read Isaiah 54 especially verses11 through14 and verse 17. I am so blessed to be apart of this group and hearing the echoes of wisdom and godly advise to guide us and draw us to His awesome truth in His word. It truly is active and alive, it runs after us and makes His home in our hearts and lives..
Hello fellow Christian parents!

Hi my beloved sister :) <3 I miss you I haven't heard from you in awhile, anywhoo good seeing you:) <3

I feel blessed to be a member of this important group!
You are blessed and may you be a blessing to all who come your way

I so want to bring up my boys (see picture) in the Lord
this is good to hear, I hope all parents are in like mind of wanting to bring their kids into the Lord

and yet I don't want to fight with them about attending worship service.
yes it is best to avoid a fight and worship is willingness to

I really don't know what to do.
pray to God and ask for an answer from Jesus, take some time out for Him. some one on one time :) <3

Should I force my boys to go to church
sis does love force you to do things? Is God forceful?

or should I just invite them every week and pray that one Sunday they will accept?
Pray for them always and always extend the invitation
I pray that your children will open their heart to Jesus and come to know him

Try to explain to them why God loves them so much and what Jesus Christ did for them on the cross

Read them the story about how God so much loved us that he sent Jesus Christ for us so that we may live happily in love of God in Him and for others.

Walk as children of the light not fearing any evil

Sis God loves you lots and he wants you to know that he is very pleased with all that you are doing to raise your children up to know Jesus Christ and how to love like him.

Amen

<3 :)
Stacey,

Sis God loves you lots and he wants you to know that he is very pleased with all that you are doing to raise your children up to know Jesus Christ and how to love like him.

That is the nicest thing anyone has said to me in the longest time! Thank you! I hope that you are right because I so want the Father to be pleased with me and it is so hard to know if you are doing the right thing. Thank you my sister!

Love Always,

Sharon.
