Thanks, Margaret. Powerful Scripture passage. May God give us wisdom and faith to appreciate the blessings of the New Covenant of grace. According to the last verse, let us not be "of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul."

We must be grateful for the active role that Jesus is playing in our salvation by grace to ensure we do not draw back. In fact, He is described as living to intercede for us. I am glad that Jesus does not start the work of our salvation and leave us to complete it or maintain it. He stays with us and in us and helps us.

Hebrews 7:24-25:
24: But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
25: Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Praise the Lord!
I'm quoting from Hebrews 10: 15-39 where three "Let us" instructions are given and we will be wise to consider them.
V15 "Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that He had said before, V16 Thi is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; V17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. V18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. V19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, V20 By a new and living way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh; V21 And having an High Priest over the house of God: V22 LET US draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. V23 LET US hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is Faithful that promised) V24 LET US consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: V23 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. V26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, V27 But a certain fearful looking for the judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. V28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: V29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? V30 For we know Him that hath said, Vengeance belongs unto Me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, the Lord shall judge His people. V31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God. V32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great fight of afflictions; V33 Partly, whilst you were made a gazing stock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst you became companions of them that were so used. V34 For you had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that you have in heaven a better and an enduring substance. V35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. V36 For you have need of patience, that, after, you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise. V37 For as yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry. V38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. V39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul."

Thanks for your comment, George. And welcome to Grace To Help. You will find the previous posts on the Passive and Active Grace of God fit well with your comment.

It is comforting to know that God never leaves us alone to deal with this evil world and the devil but by His grace will uphold us and strengthen us to cause us to be more than conquerors. And so we are so grateful that along our journey with Him we can come boldy at any time to His throne of grace not to be beaten on the head, like we may want to do impatiently with one another, but to obtain His mercy and find Grace to help us.

You will agree that the realities of the challenges that confront us daily put us in continual need of God's help. And so it's good to know that grace continues to be available from God to help us in our infirmities.

Hello Brethren,
Must we continue in sin for GRACE to abound!
We've all been saved by GRACE through FAITH, but we must understand that forgiveness of our sins is a provision for our IGNORANCE, UNCONSCIOUSNESS OR INABILITY TO BE SENSITIVE due to prevailing circumstances beyond ones control for which salvation and redemption is enthroned. After we've arived at this process at any individual point, there're no more provisions for forgiveness without penance. So we must understand and define the GRACE OF GOD and put in circumstancial perspective and timing.
For God is not mocked, "Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he reap".
After any conscious or willingly ignorance of God's divine dictate often communicated across through our spiritual ear, eye, voice etc, "the concience",
the resulting consequence which we must bear, a second tier grace is ourcomforting aability to endure.

I believe I'd either be in jail or in an institution, if it wasn't for the grace of God.
Our Lord has shown mercy on me.

I deleted it by accident. Sorry about that.
Where would any of us be if it wasn't for God's grace?
I'm thankful He said, My grace is sufficient for thee.
Here's "Amazing Grace" song like I've never heard it sung before!!
