We all go through periods of doubt and frustration deedee due to our human nature. It is important to pray and read your Bible even more in these times of Satan pulling on us in order to fight off his advances. God's love is sufficient and He offers His grace to us to help and bring us freedom. We will not have complete freedom from satan's attacks until we are able to join Jesus in perfection. While here we need to seek God's help daily through daily Bible reading and prayer. When we let down our guard is when satan attacks. In Hebrews we read that Jesus was made perfect through suffering, as we go through these trials on earth we grow closer to the Father when we stay in union with Him through daily communication.
deedee, what we are exploring here is Grace to Help in time of need. And that's what I hope you will find. We face our total helplessness and come to rely totally on God's help.
Paul too had come to a point of frustration with a sense of utter weakness when he discovered the sufficiency of the grace of God to help him be strong in his weakness. Here is his testimony as related in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10:
7: And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.
8: Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.
9: And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10: Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Whenever you have time just read over the blogs and comments we have posted. They are all on the role of grace in our Christian walk. I hope the Spirit of God will enlighten and inspire you.
I understand the experience of doubting and questioning you are going through. Don't worry. Many of us have been there. The Holy Spirit has a way of bringing you through these dark clouds into the brightness of the light of the Lord. And so, rather than trying to figure out the answer to your questions by human reasoning, which generates more confusion in your mind, please take your questions to God in prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to impart undertanding into your heart and mind. The Holy Spirit is given to us to guide us into all truth.
HI everyone,
I need some help here, I have so many questions and a lot of confusion going on in my mind right now. I believe in God, but a part of me still doubt and question God a lot. I do good for a while, and then my mind gets all confused and frustrated. I know I need help, and I was told this was the place to recieve it!
Hello Felix. Welcome to Grace To Help. You are here like we are here - to learn to recognize our need for the grace of God to help us in our times of need. We need Him.
I have enjoyed your jokes. Laughter is a medicine and they give a good dose that medicine. I even share them with others.
