All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH JESUS

“God, Who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in times past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken to us by His Son, Whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by Whom also He made the worlds; Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His Person, and upholding all things by the Word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent Name than they.” Heb. 1: 1-4

The above verses were quickened to me a few days ago and I thought I should pay more attention to what JESUS SAID, WHAT JESUS DID AND WHAT JESUS HAS TOLD US TO DO.
As born-again believers (John 3:3) in the light of God’s Word we assembled together in the Name of Jesus Christ to be assured of His Presence and worshiped God in Spirit and Truth – as Jesus said in Matt. 18: 20 and John 4: 24.

We will now read – Heb. 9: 11-28 and note particularly verses 14 and 15. Here is established that Christ is the High Priest and became the Mediator of the New Testament by His blood and through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God. And from verses 24 to 28 we note that Christ has entered into heaven itself to appear before God for us….but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
Now we will read Heb. 10 : 9- 31 that Christ came to do the Father’s will for by one offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified and their sins and their iniquities He remembers no more.
NOW, where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. Christ has become the new and living Way to God, He has become our High Priest over the house of God!! THEREFORE
a) Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith
b) Let us hold fast to our confession of faith without wavering – He is Faithful
c) Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works and not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together….but exhorting one another
as the day approaches….for if we sin willfully after knowing the truth, there
remains no more sacrifice for sins but judgment.
In this Book to the Hebrews the writer gives four warnings to the believers –

a) Danger of neglecting our salvation 2: 1-4 “….how shall we escape, if we neglect so
great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed
unto us by them that heard Him; God also bearing them witness, and with divers
miracles and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to His own will?”

b) Danger of Unbelief – 3: 7 to4: 13 “…take heed brethren, lest there be in any of you an
evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God……. But with whom was He
grieved forty years? Was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcasses fell in the
wilderness? And to whom sware He that they should not enter into His rest, but to
them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”

(i) hardening the heart – 3: 7-19 “harden not your hearts as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:”
(ii) challenge to enter into His rest – 4: 1-13 “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise
being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For
unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not
profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.”

c) Danger of not maturing –5: 11 - 6: 20 “For when for the time ye ought to be teachers,
you have need that one teach you again which are the first principles of the oracles of God: and have become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.”
(i)dullness of hearing – 5: 11-14 Of whom we “have many things to say, and hard to
be uttered , seeing ye are dull of hearing.”
(ii) need for maturing – 6: 14 “But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age..”
(iii)exhortation to maturity - 6: 9-20 “…and we desire that every one of you do show
the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end.”

d) Danger of drawing back 10: 26-39 “…Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him. But ye are not of those who draw back unto perdition: but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”

Let us in these closing days of time study the things that Jesus did and Jesus said and let us follow Him and do the will of the Father being aware of the warnings given in God’s Word. (Again in Mathew 7: 21-29)
We are not those who will draw back but we are His people who will endure until the end.
May God bless us and help us to be those effective witnesses for His glory!!
