RUTH ,my sister I think this goes hand in hand with your post love you my sister

Today's Bible Verse:

2 Timothy 3:14
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it ... (ESV)

Today's Inspiring Thought: Don't Quit!

Here Paul urges Timothy to persevere in the faith, or, in other words, "Don't quit!" And again in Philippians 1:6, Paul says, "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." If you've grown weary in your faith, remember, God is the one who started the work, so we must continue to rely on him to complete it.

"There must be a beginning of any great matter, but the continuing unto the end until it be thoroughly finished yields the true glory." --Francis Drake

God Is Faithful

1 John 9,10

9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His Word is not in us.

Even after we become Christians, we still sin and still need to confess. This kind of confession is not offered to gain God's acceptance, but to remove the barrier to fellowship that our sin has put between us and Him. Never fear revealing your sins to God. He knows them already. He will not push us away, no matter what we've done. Instead He will draw us to Himself. Confession is supposed to free us to enjoy fellowship with Christ. It should ease our consciences and lighten our cares, but some Christians do not understand how it works. They feel so guilty that they confess the same sins over and over; then they wonder if they might have forgotten something.

God wants to forgive us. He allowed His beloved Son to die just so He could offer us pardon. When we come to Christ, He forgives all the sins we have committed or will ever commit. We should continue to confess our sins, but not because failure to do so will make us lose our salvation. Our relationship with Christ is secure. Instead, we should confess so that we can enjoy maximum fellowship and joy with Him.

God has forgiven us for our sins because of Christ's death, why must we confess our sins? In admitting our sins and receiving Christ's cleansing, we are agreeing with God that our sin truly is sin and that we are willing to turn from it; ensuring that we don't conceal our sins from Him and consequantly from ourselves, and recognizing our tendency to sin and relying on His power to overcome it.

James 4:13-17

13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.

James reminds us that any view of the future that omits God is foolish and proud. “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit’; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. . . . Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that’” (James 4:13-15).

Many people used to begin their statement of plans with, “Lord willing.” The phrase may have become trite, but the acknowledgment of God’s overruling hand is not.

As we look ahead with God firmly in view, we can face the future with confidence in His loving plan.

Those who know Christ as Savior can face the future with joy.

Jesus never told us to predict a day or hour when He would return, but He did tell us to be aware of the times in which we live and to always be ready for His coming.

What are we to do and how are we to live in the light of all that is taking place around us? Look up! God has a plan and He is working out His plan. The coming of the Lord is drawing near.

Here are four things God wants us to be doing as we await the sound of the trump of God and our gathering together unto Him:
- Guard your heart (Matthew 24: 12)
- Come together with other believers (Hebrews 10:25)
- Make Christ known (Matthew 24:14)
- Be full of hope (Titus 2:13)

Colossians 1:9 For the reason also since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Paul pointed out that knowledge in itself is empty. To be worth anything it must lead to a changed life and right living.

Be filled with the knowledge of God. Knowledge is not merely to be accumulated; it should give us direction for living.

Use your knowledge. Knowledge of God is open to everyone. God wants us to learn more about Him, and also to put belief into practice by helping others.
