Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

True righteousness can be obtained only by abandoning your own effort, and turning in faith to Jesus. Because of humanity's sinfulness, true righteousness can only be a gift, can't be an achievement.

You receive righteousness by faith in Christ, and the transformation of life becomes more Christlike more, and more each day, rejecting sinful desires.
