I thank God for giving you the grace to return to him, not everyone repent from such state, continue in your walk with God and do not compromise the things of God with any other thing. His grace is sufficient for you
It is an awesome experience walk with the Lord Almighty and get closer to him day by day. But there are some things about the past that when you remember them, you will have the feeling of doubt if God can actually forgive some of the things one have done in the past
Question
If after giving your life to christ, you realised that you sin, though unwillingly, what should I do to get over the feeling of guilt?
i too find myself loosing my faith and i just want to be close to him all the time.i feel myself slipping here and i need support here and my faith restore back to me.
The best thing that could ever happen to a child of God is to have that personal relationship with Him and that is the only way to get closer to God by performing all those spiritual exercises. And the result is that you will have the peace of God which passeth all understanding
.
I'm not sure what spiritual exercises Mrs. O had in mind, but consider these passages of Scripture:
1. 2 Timothy 2:15-16: "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth." This is the discipline of regular Bible study.
2. Hebrew 3:13: "But encourage one another daily..." and Hebrews 10:25: "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another." This is the discipline of fellowship.
3. 1 Timothy 4:7-8: "Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly." This sounds like discipling one's self spiritually and having spiritual exercises.
There are numerous other passages of Scripture which talk about spiritual exercises and disciplines. They are not just legalism or tradition. They are God's ordained means of growth for us and we neglect them at our own peril.
If you want to grow in Christ it is going to take some work and discipline on your part in the strength and grace he provides.
The word "disciple" means learner, follower and someone who disciplines himself. I good way to start following Jesus is to spend time with him every day in something we call a "quiet time" or "devotional time", familiarizing yourself with his instructions and learning to obey them.
Please visit and join the Miracle Grow group if you have not already done so and begin following the 2-3-2 plan there. God will use that time to begin making you into his disciple. Also, be sure to check out what is on the Footprints group main page and begin doing what is listed there. Getting baptized and being part of good, Bible-believing church is so important to your discipleship.
