All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

You lived a life of corruption, hate, bitterness, lies etc. a life full of sin. Some may think your life is okay, but still you feel something is missing. You may go to the Lord like Nicodemus and wonder how you can be born again? Can you enter into your mother's womb again? But Jesus answered him: unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God (John 3)
You have heard the gospel and the Holy Spirit works in your heart, you know something is missing in your life. A glorious day when you accepted Jesus, you repent to God and receive Jesus as your Saviour, who washed you with His blood and cleanse you form all your iniquities. You are living on the wings of the wind, nothing seems to big or to small to overcome. You feel like you have won the world but....
Life goes on and you are back in the workplace and your everyday life. Again you are tempted by the enemy , a lot of difficulties come your way. You may even fall back in certain ordinary ways and suddenly you ask yourself: What happened in my life? What happened to the feeling of conquering the world?
And you aske yourself: Am I really saved?

Knowing you are Saved: Is it possible?

Being certain you are saved is not only possible, but God wants us to be certain about it -- and it doesn't depend on our feelings, or our conscience, or what we do or do not do, other than trust in God's promises. In fact, it depends entirely upon the promises of God!

Consider 1 John 5:11-13: "And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have his Son does not have life. I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life" (NLT). God wants us to know we have eternal life. These verses clearly share that those who have believed in Jesus Christ and accepted Him as their personal savior have eternal life. Eternal life is just that -- eternal

Romans 8:38-39 say, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Nothing can separate a child of God from their Father.

Assurance of Salvation: Why do I doubt?
Many Christians have questioned assurance of salvation. They may be going through a time of emotional unsteadiness. Perhaps they have allowed doubt to creep in or are being led by their emotions. They may be going through a time of spiritual dryness and they might not experiencing joy in their spiritual walk. Living in sin may also be the culprit and Satan may be trying to deceive them into thinking they aren't good enough to receive God's forgiveness and eternal reward.

Be assured that many struggle with one or all of these from time to time. Consider these helpful suggestions:

Ask the Lord to reveal unconfessed sin. Then follow through by repenting.

Read your Bible daily. Study specific verses about salvation.

Pray regularly. Talk to God and ask that He help you.

Trust the Lord. Remember He loves you greatly.

Rebuke doubt.

Offer praise and thanksgiving to God. Do not let feelings rob you of your joy.

Assurance of Salvation: Understanding the Biblical Support
Jesus tells us personally that He gives us eternal life and nothing can take that away: "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one" (John 10: 27-30).

Salvation is a gift of grace. Ephesians 2:8 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”

Romans 10:13. Let us also be secure in knowing that "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved"

Having this knowledge gives us hope. We can know Christ will claim us as His for all time. "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17).

If you are struggling with questions of doubt, pray a prayer similar to this: “Dear God, I’m not sure if I am Your child. I believe that you sent Your Son Jesus to earth to die for my sins. I believe that He rose from the death and is offering me eternal life. I accept Him as my Savior. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me life with You eternally. Help me to have assurance that You have answered my prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

People struggle with knowing for sure if they are safe.
The above is well said and indeed the only way to salvation.
Thanks for your input!Blessings
My spiritual encountered proved one thing:

JESUS never forsake us.
The Holy Spirit will manifest and rebuke us. Jesus has HIs Way to every Christian. For me, He said " I am leaving you... " last July.
Others may have their hardship through losing jobs, enjoying lustful life styles,...
Our dreams are also HIs Way of telling us our sins, our unrighteousness...

Man cannot live on bread alone, but every word of God. Matthew 4:4

His Words ( Bible ) becomes a SWORD, to battle the evil ones.
READ, STUDY, PRAY, SING, WORDSHIP is the WAY.
The Question is since you have sit under the teachings of the Gospel, do you now hate the sin you have been walking in?
It's the evidence not the decision.
Salvation is a free gift, there is nothing we can do to earn it.
Do you Love God?
I agree we are saved by the grace of God and through the blood of Jesus we are saved when we accept Christ as our Saviour!
I im so sad that when people accept Christ they sometimes doubt if they are saved.
To answer your question yes GReg I love my Father He is my only true love!! Without Him my life wont be worth living!
PRAYERS is a must, together with knowing HIS WORDS.
Praying gives us hope, rays of hope as Jesus hears. God hears, then ask Jesus to fill us the Holy Spirit, ASK and SEEK whatever you need, for explaination why we are still unsure about salvation, where to find it, ... Just ASK in your prayers whenever you feel like.
I did that, I kept asking for my sins be forgiven, yet I sin again because of our FLESH. When we die, we cannot sin anymore as our flesh became dust. BUT our Spirit has to return to GOD. GOD created us in his spirit ( image ), JESUS washed away all our sins ...Confess sins, Repent,... step by step you will feel assured because of HIS WORDS abide in you. So you must have the WORDS of God daily as your energy.

Your name already in the book of Life when you accepted Christ, now you need to revitalise by HIS WORDS...Seek !

Pray for you. Listen to His Words. ( Ten Commandments )_
Do Not sin if you know it is a sin. Sing songs to praise. Raise your hands to wordship. GOD BLESS in Jesus Name
Amen
I'm sorry that I reply before even reading all the messages, but there is a tiny answer i can give:

I know that i am saved: because I have made a choise to live for Him. ANd because I said that, I have recieved it!
Don't worry Nienie Have FAITH God IS WITH YOU. Sometimes I find myself asking the same question. But what you got to realize. Is that you are being tempted. When you realize that you are on a whole different level than before you were saved. Satan is not going to give up easy. But with studying the Scripture and counseling with fellow christians it is easier. At least I find it to be. Here is a few verses that I hope encourage you. "For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones." Proverbs 3:6-8 Realize blameless n this scripture does not mean perfect. "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23. Keep the faith. For you have a bunch of people praying for you. Hope you are having a BLESSED weekend. Your brother in Christ Mark
knowing that the word is true all you need for assurance that you're saved all you have to do is go to Rom.10:9-10.
9)if you confess with your lips that jesus is lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved.
10)with the heart one believes and is justified, with the mouth one cofesses and is saved.
if this is not true take it out your bible.
you are right.i believein jesus with all my heart and soul.
why do things go wrong at times it just doent seem the spirit is in me,and i cant hear god talking to me.what am i doing wrong.im just learning .
Jesus said, " I am the Way, the Truth, no one come to my father except through me ";

The very moment we said, " Jesus, forgive my sins , I accept you as my personal saviour now... "
The Holy Spirit dwells in us as Jesus was born with the manifestation of the Holy Spirit through Mary.
Jesus is the son of Man, but man continues to disobey by worshiping idols as man prefer darkness.

Are you saved ?
