Hi folks:

HealingPRAYERs is intended for a group of commited souls to jointly pray for a fixed number of individuals that need our prayers for healing. A new list will develop each week, beginning on Mondays. Your own names can be added to as many weekly lists as you like, on the condition that the prayer-request lists do not exceed 10 people. The only reason I decided to limit the list is to make it easier for the folks praying to remember the names and the needs of each individual during their prayer sessions. This way, our prayers will be more personal and meaningful. Please also limit the requests for prayer to people needing healing; after all, that is the purpose of this very special group. Thank you for your cooperation. Oh, and there will be chances to join in some fasts for healing, too. I will post in advance when the fasts will take place.

There will be a thread in the discussion forum labeled "prayer requests." Please list one person, someone you know or yourself, who needs healing. Let others also post a request, up to and not exceeding ten requests with a short description of the health need. Finally, I eagerly ask that each group member participate in praying throughout the week for the health needs of those presented on the list. This won't work out if we all want prayer but none are willing to pray for the needs of others. Try to think of this as a service challenge...how service-driven are we in our walk with Jesus? Ok, let's get started! and Welcome! :-)

God, we come to You as humbly as we know how. We confess our sins, those known and unknown. Lord you know we am not perfect and we fall short every day of our life, but I want to take time out to say Thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for our health, our family and our friends, the roof over our head, food on our table, and everything we have...thank you for your sacrifice and your Grace ,WE PRAY THAT AS YOU WATCH OVER ALL OF YOUR CHILDREN YOU WILL CONTINUE TO GRANT THEM THEIR HEART DESIRE ACCORDING TO YOUR WILL IN THE NAME OF OUR BIG BROTHER AND HIGH PRIEST JESUS THE CHRIST .

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, I thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. I thank You that You will complete what You've started in my life. Today I choose to put my trust and hope in You knowing that You are working behind the scenes to bring victory to every area of my life! In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Serenity Prayer: What are the words?
The Serenity Prayer goes like this --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next. Amen.


Serenity Prayer: What does it mean?
This beautiful prayer was written by a man named Reinhold Niebuhr in 1943. The words have special meaning to those who are often “looking for peace” at a time of turmoil, despair, or uncertainty in their lives. This prayer has become closely associated with 12 Step programs, offering strength and calm in pursuit of a more stable life.

First, through uttering these words, we are acknowledging God’s existence and recognizing that He is truly the only one who can bring us inner peace regardless of chaotic circumstances. His wonderful presence in our lives brings ‘serenity’ that can be found nowhere else. There is a Bible verse that says the peace of God is beyond all human understanding. “His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). Until we allow the ‘peace of God’ to enter into our mind, heart, and soul, we will never experience that ultimate peace that defies the most severe circumstances in life.

The prayer goes on to speak of accepting, courage, and wisdom. It all comes down to asking and allowing God to give us these things. In other words, it is surrendering to Him. The second part reminds us that our trust needs to be in God to work things out and recognizing that we usually don’t have any real control over hardships in this sinful world or the actions of others. Trust Him and live one day at a time, enjoying each moment.

Serenity Prayer: How do I put this into practice?
Perseverance and successes aren’t born out of good times. They are born out of trials. 1 Peter 4:12 says “. . .don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you.” The Bible tells us that we will go through trials and going through them makes us stronger. In our times of weakness, we learn to rely on God’s strength and He takes great delight when we trust in Him. We all desire to be needed and wanted; God wants this from us as well. He wants for us to turn to Him and trust Him.

Be encouraged -- Christ Jesus is faithful; we can rest on Him, trusting Him always for the outcome. We don’t always understand the “why” of things that happen and we don’t always need to. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” And in Hebrew 13:5, God says He will never leave us or forsake us. Never is long time. . .He is always there for us if we come to Him.

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I carry is light” (Matthew 11:29-30).

In these Scriptures, we can see the relevance of the last phrase in the Serenity Prayer. If we surrender to Him, we can be supremely happy in Him, in this life and forever after.

DARE You To Be Healthy!
 
Who doesn’t want to be in good health—filled with stamina and energy, able to fight off disease and fatigue? And while you can’t deny your genetics, you have more control over your health than you may realize. It’s all a matter of:
 
Diet — Choose foods that your body needs: fresh fruits and vegetables, crisp salads, plenty of water (why fill up with sodas and caffeine drinks?), lean meats. The Bible speaks in no uncertain terms about the wisdom of a common-sense diet and life-style. “The drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty” (Proverbs 23:21). The Living Bible paraphrases 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 to read: “Haven’t you yet learned that your body is the home of the Holy Spirit God gave you, and that he lives within you? Your own body does not belong to you. For God has bought you with a great price. So use every part of your body to give glory back to God, because he owns it.”
 
Attitude — What happens in your life is far less important than the attitude you bring to it. Hatred, guilt, fear and discontent can take their toll on your body. Stop dwelling on the negative! “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things” (Philippians 4:8).
 
Rest — No machine can run long without stopping periodically for maintenance. Your body, infinitely more complex and precious than the most valuable machine, is designed by your Creator for regular periods of rest and relaxation. But treat your mind and spirit to intervals of repose, too. After you have prayed about a problem, and after you have done all you can, leave it in God’s hands. “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength” (Isaiah 30:15). Jesus promises, “Come to me…and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
 
Exercise — Two of the greatest dangers to health are being overweight and the lack of physical activity. All exercise is beneficial, but one of the best forms is simply walking. It lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, reduces the risk of heart disease and enhances muscle tone. Walking also strengthens the chest, shoulders and back muscles; it increases bone density in the hips and lower vertebrae. “Remember the Lord in all you do, and he will give you success” (Proverbs 3:6). Ask God to help you get a move on and be healthy!

Spiritual Spring Cleaning

Spring is a time for renewal. Use these steps to refresh your spirit and be the person you were meant to be.

 

1. Cleanse
Let go of anger, pain and disappointment.  The Psalmist cried out in anguish, “My tears have been my food day and night” (Psalms 42:3).  When life knocks you down, or pulls you back from your hopes and dreams, remember no matter what happens, it can be used for good. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). God is with you—always and forever, in the midst of every challenge. “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged" (Deuteronomy 31:8).


2. Pray

For spiritual growth, nothing can take the place of prayer—simply spending time with God, thanking him for his gifts to you, praising him, asking for guidance, admitting your sins and asking forgiveness and help. You will grow as you set a good example—“in speech and behavior, in your love and faith and sincerity” (1 Timothy 4:12). And “keep a critical eye on yourself” (verse 16).

3. Renew
Nature is the perfect example of renewal. But did you know the Creator renews people, too? The Bible tells us that God sees within each of us vast potentials for new energy and accomplishments. God sees within you valuable and new potentials. “Just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life” (Romans 6:4). Whenever you face a problem, bring it to Jesus. He will not only answer your prayer, but also bring out new resources within you!

4. Live Abundantly
Abundant living is facing life with faith in Christ, believing that God is always with you, hoping and trusting for a good outcome to what you do, looking for the best in everyone and everything—and maintaining an upbeat attitude that reflects all this. It is dogged persistence in spite of difficulties. It is the determination to get up again when you fall, and the deep joy that is present even when you face disappointing or saddening events. Abundant living is accepting each day as it comes, acknowledging your blessings and trusting your problems to God. Why live any other way?

Earnest Prayers

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

God loves it when you come boldly to Him! When we pray with an attitude of faith and expectancy, it shows that we believe God and His Word and that opens the door for Him to move on our behalf.

Today’s verse tells us that when we pray earnestly and continually that it makes tremendous power available. Think about a little child asking his mother for something he really wants. That child doesn’t just ask once. Or twice. He asks continually! He doesn’t just walk away if he doesn’t get an answer right away. That child builds his case and gives every reason he should get what he is asking for!

Scripture tells us to come to God with the faith of a child. It’s not that we have to beg Him, but our determination is an expression of our faith in His goodness. When we build our case with the Word of God, we are setting ourselves up to partake of His divine blessing. Today, whatever you need, make your requests known to God. Come to Him with the faith of child. Pray earnestly and continually and watch His power work on your behalf!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, today I come boldly thanking You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. I lift up my heart in faith to You knowing that my earnest prayers open the door for Your power to move on my behalf! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

    27And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God's will.(F)

    28We are assured and know that [[j]God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

To every matter there is a bright as well as a dark side. Rachel was overwhelmed with the sorrow of her own travail and death; Jacob, though weeping the mother's loss, could see the mercy of the child's birth. It is well for us if, while the flesh mourns over trials, our faith triumphs in divine faithfulness. Samson's lion yielded honey, and so will our adversities, if rightly considered. The stormy sea feeds multitudes with its fishes; the wild wood blooms with beauteous flowerets; the stormy wind sweeps away the pestilence, and the biting frost loosens the soil. Dark clouds distil bright drops, and black earth grows gay flowers. A vein of good is to be found in every mine of evil. Sad hearts have peculiar skill in discovering the most disadvantageous point of view from which to gaze upon a trial; if there were only one slough in the world, they would soon be up to their necks in it, and if there were only one lion in the desert they would hear it roar. About us all there is a tinge of this wretched folly, and we are apt, at times, like Jacob, to cry, "All these things are against me." Faith's way of walking is to cast all care upon the Lord, and then to anticipate good results from the worst calamities. Like Gideon's men, she does not fret over the broken pitcher, but rejoices that the lamp blazes forth the more. Out of the rough oyster-shell of difficulty she extracts the rare pearl of honour, and from the deep ocean-caves of distress she uplifts the priceless coral of experience. When her flood of prosperity ebbs, she finds treasures hid in the sands; and when her sun of delight goes down, she turns her telescope of hope to the starry promises of heaven. When death itself appears, faith points to the light of resurrection beyond the grave, thus making our dying Ben-oni to be our living Benjamin.
