Faith Like Potatoes had me crying. Good movie. Love the message to follow our calling, believing our Lord will equip us and provide.

We serve a good God. Holiness is a must.

Nancy I just finished watching Amish Grace for the second time. If you use the link I added and if you have hi speed internet you can watch it on line.

I was even moved in my spirit more this time. It is a great movie for anyone who is having a problem with forgiveness. I was so impressed by the absolute grace of God giving His children a supernatural ability to forgive. I could not present in a sermon on forgiveness a better illustration to use to help some one understand true Biblical forgiveness.

Hey Bob. I was just talking to someone a couple of nights ago who was watching that movie. I dont have cable as i do not watch tv very much at all but I do buy movies such as this as I can watch those without cable. I was very deeply touched by the description of Amish Grace and am looking forward to adding it to my collection and it sounds like I would probably watch it over and over again.Sorry , have not visited this group yet since I joined it but will be showing up a little more often in the future. The Lord has been putting it in my heart to become more disciplined in these things lately.
Looks like a very interesting group. God bless you in all you do in Christ's Name.

Your right David, I am changing the title of the group.

A good movie that is on cable tonight at 8pm est is called; Amish Grace. If you aren't able to watch it on cable you can find it on line @ www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-80158763.html -

I was wondering if the movie was going to be a negative attack against Christian values, but it was not. I wept as I struggled with the Amish mother in her journey of allowing God to help her to forgive the man who murdered her daughter. If there is anyone who is struggling in the area of forgiveness, then this movie will show you the power of the Lord in the life of the Believer to do the impossible and forgive. Forgiveness is a topic that i myself have struggled with and I think that is why i had such an emotional reaction to the film was because of my own gratefulness to God for freeing me myself from it.

Bob -

I truly enjoyed the movies thank you. I was not familiar with them, which led me to think that this group would probably be a good group where we could share wholesome movies. We can start a discussion as i did with the movie "Love comes softly" and discuss the pros and cons or lessons it taught.

Just an idea. What do you think?

I agree, we need to forgive, no matter what. It is not always easy, but God gives His people the grace to forgive, even in the most adverse situations. That must have been a very special movie also.

I watched another movie last night that was another movie like End of Spear dealing with forgiveness called; " Amish Grace".

Sunday’s Lifetime Movie Network’s premiere of “Amish Grace,” based on the 2006 Nickel Mines school shooting, broke records for the network, becoming its highest rated and most watch original movie, according to a statement released by the network Monday. The movie scored high among women and adults, network officials said. More than 4 million viewers tuned in to the movie.

“Amish Grace” also generated the second highest day of premiere page views of any original movie for the network’s online site, myLifetime.com.

Based on the book “Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy,” the film told the story of a mother’s journey as she coped with the loss of her daughter in the shooting.

On Oct. 2, 2006, Charles Carl Roberts IV, armed with a 9 mm semiautomatic pistol, a 12- gauge shotgun and a 30.06 rifle, entered the West Nickel Mines Amish School and shot 10 girls execution-style after binding their legs and lining them up in front of a chalkboard in the front of the one-room school. He eventually shot himself.

Two girls died at the scene, one in the arms of a state trooper. A third died en route to hospital. Seven others were taken to hospitals. In the end, five girls died. The school building was demolished a week later. The community’s compassion and forgiveness toward the gunman’s family captured the attention of the world.

I watched the movie thinking that the movie would pervert the message of how Christ empowers us as believers to do the impossible and forgive even our enemies and those who have done wrong to us, our family, or friends.

I cried my eyes out as I saw the Amish brothers and sisters show genuine love and forgiveness to Charles Carl Roberts widow and children.

There was so many lessons I took away from the whole ugly situation.

Number one, forgiveness is not easy, but we must forgive and keep on forgiving.
Number two, forgiveness is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit who cries out within our hearts, "Forgive them for they know not what they are doing." This was the cry from Jesus lips upon the cross.

Both the movies, touched my hearts, as I watched them again. I believe that in the "End of the Spear" that God gave them, those who killed Nate Saint and the others, the vision of the heavens opening and the angels of God descending, for their own benefit, to bring them to God. It was God's will for the missionaries wives to go and live with them with their children, because the warriors were less likely to spear the women and children, though some wanted to. God intervened so they were not able. What a testimony! I especially liked the end, when Nate Saint's son took the man who killed his dad, and made him the grandfather of his children. I loved it when he experienced the supermarkets! The movie about the potatoes, was amazing as far as that man's faith. God was so faithful, and answered his prayers. I want that kind of faith! Praise God,

I do too! Ive read many times that we are much more receptive to the Fathers healing touch, His will and works when weve been humbled (literally died to self) when we have no pride and are basically at our lowest point; when weve been brought to our knees and resign ourselves / our will, our trust to The Father; then He is able to do miracles; that mere man could not accomplish in the natural. Again, Thank you for sharing these wonderful movies, I can't wait share them with friends and family....;)
