Chris if you go round behaving light a shocking teenager, I don't know how you have any friends. Please do behave and act your age and not your shoe size! Especially in company!

Sometimes when I look in the mirror I can see the younger me, even though I know it's really wrinkles, I call them laugh lines too Ruth. But my eyes still shine with love and my smile is still the same. And when I started using oxygen 24/7 my grandchildren didn't even notice until I asked my grandson Kaleb to run out to my car and get another tank for me. Then he was full of questions. So I think the people that you love still see you the way they first saw you, and not the wrinkles, or the canula I wear, or that I need help going up and down stairs. Kaleb now comes out to my car when I go to visit, and he carries things for me and lends me his arm going up the steps. Kaleb is 11. God Bless him.

Hi Prophet. Susanne and Chris. You indulge yourselves as much you as like, that is fine with me. Once in a while it is good for us, BUT not all the time! A teacher, long ago wrote in my autograph book "Do the thing that nearest, though its dull at whiles, helping when you meet them lame dogs over styles." As we grow older there are some things we cannot do, especially when the weather is bad but, there is always something we can do to serve Him and others, even if it is only shairing a smile! I find the more you do, give, pray for others the happier you become! God Bless xx

I agree Susanne, I sing anyway regardless of what the nieghbors think. I put my tape deck outside and sing and dance and wave my worship banners, ribbons and flags on the lawn and so many neighbors have asked about this and have gained a better understanding of worship and praising the Lord AMEN.

I like what prophet said. I too am kinder to my self. I stay up late when it suits me and sleep in, on the days when I have nothing pressing. Right now we have 15 inches of snow, and I couldn't go to Bible study today or a prayer luncheon tomorrow. Ahhh! but its so beautiful. I live in the foothills of the mountains. Right now it so serene and beautiful., and yes its still snowing. I want to get up and watch the sunrise tomorrow, so I should go to bed dear ones. Lights flickered several times today. If we loose electricity , I shall bundle up and take my rocker out on the deck and sing. Thank you Jesus for no neighbors to hear me!!

Hi Ruth, this story is very tongue in cheek LOL and indulgent.............Just to put the record straight I rely on GOD for ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING IN THIS LIFE........... He is my close companion, My best Friend, My Husband, My Provider, My Father...and everything that goes with being a disciple. Friends and family do leave this life too soon according to our fleshly desires, but as the word says for everything there is a time and purpose under Heaven. :-)

Hello Prophet, I have read with real interest your comments below. I am not sure any friends leave this world 'too soon' as I do firmly believe we leave when God is ready for us to move on! As for broken hearts, well we have the best friend who can mend those haven't we? I would say, place yourself in His hands and be the person He would have you be so that you can blossum for Him where you are! Each day, as I grow older I find to rely on Him more and more gets me safely though another day! God Bless you day friend and keep you in His care.

As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend..

I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.

Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM or sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love .. I will.
I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.

They, too, will get old.
I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.

Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face..
So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.
As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore..
I've even earned the right to be wrong.

So Dear Friends, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever,
but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day (if I feel like it).
