All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Why was Jesus manifested? I suppose that we can give a lot of reasons why Jesus manifested. There are 3 reasons that stands out for me in Scripture.

1.  He was manifested to "Take Away Sin"

2. He was manifested to "Destroy the works of the devil"

3. He was manifested to "Deliver us from the wrath to come".

In life, there are 5 levels. The highest level is our.....  1.  Elohimic Level (El Elyon - The Most High God)

the 2nd level is our......................................................2.  Angelic Level just below Elohim

the 3rd level is our.......................................................3.  Adamic Level. Thou hast made him a little

                                                                                                                                lower that the angels.

the 4th level is our...................................................... 4.  Satanic Level. He who was on the 2nd level                                                                                                                              below Elohim (namely Lucifer) fell to                                                                                                                                    the  4th level below man under                                                                                                                                    our  feet.

the 5th and lowest level in life is our                              5.  Harmatanoic Level. Satan is not the lowest level

in life, sin is because sin                                                                                                                                                  changed the most beautiful                                                                                                                                           perfect being  into the horrible                                                                                                                                     creature that he is today.

Just think of it. He who was the highest, Elohim, became the lowest in life even lower than the devil, coz he was made the very sin that exist. A mystery that we can never fully understand and I know that its hard to swallow.

Hi Jonathan,

John 1:18 says "No one has ever seen God, but God the one and only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known"

Jesus came so that we can know who God is.

Jesus came to fulfill God's promises to certain people.

To Adam He is the promised Messiah.  'The seed of the women' Gen 3:15

To Abraham Jesus was his one descendent who would bless the world.  Genesis 12:3

To David Jesus was the promised King who would come from His family. 2 Samuel 7:12

Jesus came to bring salvation to all who will call upon Him.

Jesus came to fulfill the Law of Moses.  Matt 5:17,18

Jesus came to die for the sins of the world. Matt 20:28

Jesus came to bring in a new covenant. Matt 26:26-28

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8

Jesus came to judge the world righteously. John 5:22

Jesus came to sympathize with believers as our high priest.  Hebrews 4:14-16

Jesus came to show us how to live. 1 Peter 2:21

Jesus came to prepare us for a Heavenly destiny. 1 John 3:2

The coming of Jesus Christ into the world was for the following reasons. Jesus came to provide a further revelation of God. The Old Testament was incomplete and the coming of Christ completed God's revelation. Jesus also came to fulfill promises to individuals. The Old Testament records promises made to a number of individuals that were fulfilled in Jesus. Jesus also came to fulfill the Law of Moses - He perfectly kept the commandments of the Law. Jesus also came to be the sacrifice for the sins of the world. Because He lived a sinless life He could sacrifice Himself. The coming of Christ not only fulfilled the old covenant, it also brought a new covenant into affect. Christ's coming was also to destroy the works of the devil. Christ also became an example for believers. His perfect life sets the standard. Finally, Jesus coming has prepared the way for believers to receive their new body - one without sin.

There are 33 positional truths which the blood of Christ provides for every believer.

They are given to us by the Grace of God at the point of Salvation.

1) Romans 8:29,30-  Each and every believer is predestined in the eternal plan of God with an eternal purpose.  He will fulfill it in each of us.  We will be conformed to the image of His Son.  Absolutely.

2) Romans 3:24 and 8:23-   We have been redeemed and purchased out of the slave market of sin.  Even our physical bodies will be redeemed.

3) Romans 5:10; Colossians 1:20; II Corinthians 5:18-20.- We have been reconciled back to God, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We are to preach this word of reconciliation.

4) Romans 3:24. 1 John 2:2- Propitiation.  God is able to relate to us now because HE solved the sin problem perfectly.  He is satisfied.

5) Colossians 2:13 - We are forgiven of all condemnation and sin forever.  We can now live in God's peace.

6) Romans 6:1-10; Galatians 2:20 - We are crucified with Christ.  We are placed permanently before God as totally judged In Christ, without sin in His eyes.  When God looks at us HE sees Jesus.

7) Romans 6:14; 8:1-4; Galatians 5:1-4.  We are free from the Law.  The law is a system which demands human merit (perfection).  We are under Grace.  We are accepted and beloved because of Grace, not our actions.  We now live to please God living obediently freely out of Love for Him.  Sin no longer has dominion over us.

8) John 3:3,7 - We are born again, now children of God.

9) Galatians 3:26; 4:7; Ephesians 1:4,5 - We're adopted.  There is neither Jew nor Greek, male or female, slave or free.  We are all one In Christ Jesus.

10)  John 20:31; II Cor 5:21; 1 Cor 1:30; Hebrew 10:4; Eph 1:6; Colossians 1:12 - We're acceptable to God by Jesus Christ

11)  Romans 4; 5:1-  Justified.  God declares us righteous.  Our relationship is restored.  God's favor is restored, the righteousness of Messiah is imputed to us.  We are forgiven of all sin-- past, present and future.

12) Ephesians 2:13 - We're brought into a relationship with God which is perfectly infinite and complete.

13) Colossians 1:13; 2 Cor 4:3, 4 - We're delivered from the power of darkness.  We are no longer blind, now we can see.

14) Colossians 1:13; 1 Thess 2:12 - We are translated out of the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Heaven.  This means we used to belong to satan's wordly kingdom,  but NOW we belong to JESUS in HIS Heavenly Kingdom.

15) 1 Cor 3:9-15; Matt 7:24-27 - We are fellow workers with Christ.  All our work must be built upon Christ.

16)  John 6:37; Eph 1:14 - The Father has given each believer to the Son.  We are His love gift and He will not reject any of us.  We are His possession.

17) Ephesians 2:17; Colossians 2:11 - We are circumsised In Christ.  We put off the sins of the flesh.

18) 1 Peter 2:5, 9; Rev 1:6 - We are partakers of a Holy and Royal Priesthood.  He has made us kings and priests.

19) 1 Peter 2:9 - A Chosen generation. A peculiar people. Separate from the world, distinct, born of God.

20) Philippians 3:20; Ephesians 2:19 - We are heavenly citizens.  We are merely pilgrims here on earth.  Our home is in Heaven.

21) Eph 2:19; Gal 6:10 - God is our Father.  We belong to His family and household.

22) Eph 4:1-3 ; John 17:11-23 - Since our citizenship is in heave, and our household is in God, we have fellowship in this family with other believers in unity of the Spirit.

23) Col 1:27; Col 3:1; 1 Cor 15:58; 1 Peter 4:12, 13; Phil 1:29; John 14:12-14; Eph 5:24-57; Titus 2:13; Heb 10:13

We have a heavenly Association with Christ.  We are partners with Him in life, position, service, suffering, prayer and expectation.

24) Romans 5:2; Ephesians 2:18; Heb 4:16; 10:10-20 - We have access to God.  We stand in His Grace.  We are urged to approach Him in confidence.

25) Romans 5:8-10; Ephesians 2:7-9 - We are in God's loving Care.

26)  Eph 1:6,18 - His inheritance.  We are the riches of His Glory.

27) Eph 1:4; Col 3:24; 1 Peter 1:4; Heb 9:15 - We have an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance, we are a purchased possession.  This inheritance is eternal and will never fade away.

28)  Eph 5:8 - We are in the Light of the Lord

29) 1 Thess 1:1; Eph 4:6; Roman 8:1; John 14:20; Romans 8:9; 1 Cor 2:12 - We are united IN the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

30) Eph 1:14; Romans 8:23 - We are blessed with the first-fruits of the Spirit, these are down-payments which bind with certainty the larger gifts of heavenly glory.  We are born of the Spirit (John 3:6), Baptism in the Spirit (1 Cor 12:13), Indwelt by the Spirit (Romans 5:5; 8:9), Sealed by the Spirit (Eph 4:30), and filled with the Spirit (Eph 5:18).

31) Romans 4:17; 8:8; Col 3:4; Romans 8:30 - We are Glorified.  Though this is a future glorifying, it is certain so that it is also considered a present achievement In Christ.

32) Col 2:9,10 - Because of our vital union with Christ, we are complete in Him, and therefore partake of all that Christ is.

33) Eph 1:3 - sums all of this up..  "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,..."

I'm not familiar with the levels you are speaking of... it's not anything I've heard before.

Blessings, Carla

Thanks for the reply Carla.
1Jn 3:5  And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
1Jn 3:8  He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Rom_5:9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Justification is a Judicial Term.
To have been on trial by God is to have received His VERDICT, either against or in favor.
In the Edenic case, "Guilty as charched.". Man must face the death penalty!!!

In the Garden of Eden, man was put to trial in that local court. (Characters - Elohim, the accused Adam & Eve & the Accuser)
But something was missing in that court case, the Advocate to defend man's case.
Since man was so poor that he couldn't afford an advocate, the Court appointed an Advocate that belongs to the Court.
That court was postponed and to be taken to the Supreme Court in heaven, until the Advocate would come acc. to Dan.7 when our Advocate came to the Ancient of Days, the Supreme Judge. The judgement that was set in Dan7 is the tribunal in Heb/Aramaic.
Our Advocate paid the penalty for our crime.
Did the tribunal reached the verdict???
Yes your Honor! We find the accused sinners - "NOT GUILTY"
And now we are saved from the wrath to come
Just my short thought on Rom.5:9

He was manifested to TAKE AWAY OUR SIN, and to DESTROY THE WORKS of the devil.

Originally, this world belonged to Adam. Adam was the god of this world. Satan stole it from Adam, Adam not reading the fine print signed it over to Satan. Therefore Satan could tell Jesus that it was handed over to him, and Jesus didn't deny the fact that it was so. (Lk.4:6)

So did Satan became the god of this world and found his kingdom of darkness. Jesus was manifested to deliver us from the power of darkness and translate us into the kingdom of his Father (Col.1:13). But He had to come to our level to deliver us from our oppressor, and bring many sons unto glory, seated with Christ in the heavenlies, His level!!!

The kingdom of darkness is founded by sin and its foundation is sin. Destroying sin, its foundation,  was to destroy the kingdom of darkness.Have we ever noticed how Scripture speaks when it comes to the relationship between the devil and the sinner, and between sin and the sinner?

Between Satan & the sinner.....its father - child relationship (Jn.8:44)

between Sin & the sinner......its master - slave relationship

Scripture doesn't call Satan the "master" of the sinner neither is sin called the "father" of the sinner.

There is one master, that is sin.

Joh 8:34  Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Rom 6:16  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Sin is the master of Satan and sin brought Satan into bondage to serve sin. Sin dictates Satan.

Just notice, the reward of sin, not the reward of the devil, is death.

Satan is also working for sin, and gets the same reward in his pay packet, death.

TO DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL

Satan is always likened unto a serpent in Scripture. Sin is not really likened unto a serpent though, when God told Cain, "Sin (not the devil) lieth at the door, and its desire is toward you", the metaphor here is that of a crouching animal lurking on its prey. Why are we so fearful of a serpent? Is it because of the serpent, or what is in that bite, the deadly  venom?

Why would God in all His Wisdom tell Moses to make a bronze serpent and put it on a pole. Was God dealing with both Satan and Sin on the cross there, the serpent and its venom...

It is interesting to notice that only John records Christ's statement about Moses lifting up the serpent in the wilderness.  In  Jn.1:1, John speaks of Him as God. When Jesus, referring to Moses lifting up the serpent, He calls Himself, "the Son of man", pointing out that the Most High God came down to our level, son of man, the 2nd Adam. He speaks of the serpent foreshadowing Him, i.e, when He was made sin for us, God took Him to the lowest level so that He could take the sin bound Adamic race to His level.

THE WRATH TO COME

Why did those serpents came and bit the Israelites.

Those serpents also represented God's judgement and they revealed the wrath of God upon Israel.

Jn.3:14, God's judgement and was upon Christ and thus delivered us from the wrath to come. We must believe when we look at the cross what God did for us, "Look and live, my brother live. Look to Jesus now and live"

Jesus mentions this lifting up of the serpent to Nicodemus after He told him to be able to enter into the kingdom of God, he must be born of the Spirit, born again.

Remember that the seraphim in Isaiah standing above the throne, the same word used for these serpents amongst the Israelites is the same word to describe these cherubim above the throne, calling holy, holy, holy

I will end there coz some things is hard to talk about.
