ARE WE ONE BODY JUST AS THE BIBLE SAYS IN EPHESIANS 4:4 TO 5? IF WE ARE WHY DIFFERENT DOCTRINE, ARE WE ALL GOING TO HEAVEN OR ONE PLACE WITH SO MANY DOCTRINE? DO WE HOLD TO THE TEACHING OF THE APOSTLE? ONLY THE TRUTH CAN SET US FREE.

Is being a Christian about doctrine or about our commitment, or faith if you prefer, in Jesus and the proof of that faith in following him, or rather, allowing him to live our life through us. For myself, I think it's the latter. I have read enough history of Christian thought to allow myself to become beholden to "doctrine", though I understand the necessity of it and respect those who prefer to have different opinions about it. I say all this not to offend anyone. In saying all this too, I know that I struggle with how many different types of Christians view Jesus, God, the Holy Spirit, and other "issues" according to "doctrine." I have to keep reminding myself that the most important thing to do is keep Jesus the center of it all. He is for me the only way I can really understand and come to the Father - in what he did and what he continues to do in the world.
Why so many doctrine?I have often wondered the same thing.
It seems to me the best way to defeat your enemy is to divide and conquer. Is it possible that Satan has something to do with it?
I have found that there are many Christians who feel, IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE EXACTLY WHAT I BELIEVE YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN. This saddens me greatly. I think God sheds a tear each time he sees one of His children cast judgment on others.
Maybe it's mans pride and arrogance. Maybe it's our need to always be right and shun those who don't agree with us. Maybe it's a form of power and control over others. I don't have the answer, but I do know this....
Jesus died for my sins and in Him I have complete faith and trust. The rest...well it doesn't really matter as much as some think.
God is sooo coool

I wonder if, like there were several different personalities of apostles that there are many ways of coming to Him. None of the disciples understood who He was when they were in His midst. Why are we so certain that WE know? Maybe the point is to search and seek after Him and not think we've found Him. He abides in everyone of us all ready, so we can't look too far. I also think that since God did what needed to be done at the Tower of Babel, He needs to do to us now so we won't distort Him so much as to totally mess things up, as we are apt to do.
