Before I begin, let me say that through word and faith i have found that the name of Jesus does
not mean what we think it does. You may search futher there upon if you so wish, but in the
explanation below - I will refer to the Saviour and Messiah as Yahushua. (to you that may be Jesus)
May all honour and glory in this truth be to the father, he who created heaven and earth.
Mat 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come,
he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Mar 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is
Mar 13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer
Sober in the last 2 mean be awake, be clear minded.
Matthew, Mark, Luke and Paul all warned by saying... WATCH. Yahushua gave a sense of urgency so that his people may be ready.
In Revelations we find John writing:
Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch,
I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Be ready or else your salvation may be stolen like a thief in the night.
Now Read Matt24.
The Disciples asked Yahushua - Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And he offers many signs.
1. Mat 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Read up about Jim Jones, Marshall Applewhite and Suma Ching Hai and more recently Dr. Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda who
claims today he is the risen Christ, and worst of all... has thousands of followers.
2.Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars.
What world do you live in since 9/11 ? Wars continue in the middle east.
3. Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
What has happened to nature recently? Tsunamis', earthquakes etc have increased drastically.
4. Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Christians are being persecuted simply for being Christians, it happens even today. Bible Bashers, Jesus Freaks etc.
5. Mat 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
In todays world, how hard is it for the unfaithful and even the faithful to maintain their faith, to live obediently.
The World is such a place that makes it hard, the Messiahs people are suffering. Hence he tells us
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Have you noticed how the days are going by faster and faster?
6. Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet,
stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Yehushua is telling us to KNOW what Daniel prophesied in the book of Daniel. (ask me if you want to know understand these better)
Daniel foretells the end. Read it so that you may stand in the Holy place.
You may say that there has always been false prophets coming in his name, and that there have always been rumours of wars, that there have always
been earthquakes, that christians have always been persecuted, that man has always had contempt for man.
Yes, but if you read Isa 26:17 Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery,
is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.
The end times are likened to that of birth pains. How do birth pains work? they start slow and far apart, and then they get closer together
and harder, and eventually there is the birth.
So too, we can see in society today that all these points mentioned are getting bigger, faster and we are heading towards a climax or birth.
Mat 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
He likens his coming to a fig tree, when the branches change colour you know that something is coming. the season is changing the fruit is about
to come onto the tree.
We live in the end times today. Another strange point is that Man will within 50 - 100 years have technology sufficient to enable us
to populate other planets. Once this happens no single event will ever be able to end mankind. - It will be before then !
Be ready, do not be afraid. He comes to rescue you.
Its for my own personal reasons that I call the MessiYAH - Yahushua.
If you want to know - Exodus 3:16 - the name of the Father is listed as Jehovah. (in my bible) Yours?
Because of Blasphemy, the Masoretes ensured that the Name of the LORD would not be taken in vain by substituting the vowel marks for Adonai and putting them under the letters in the running text (this is called Qere [what is to be read] as opposed to Ketiv [what is to be written]). The Hebrew text, then, contains the Ketiv but uses the vowels of the Qere and this has led to the obviously incorrect pronunciation of the Name as "Jehovah" (in older English, "J" had a "y" sound).
Also, you will find that the letter J was the last to be introduced into the English Language, prob. only after 1500. Therefore the name of the Lamb of God could not have been Jesus until thereafter.
He is the same yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. So a personal choice for me is to keep his name the same. Look, the word says test all things, hold onto that which is good. The Lord has many names, and as I said before, its a personal choice to use the name that is closest to the original name that the Apostles may have called the Messiah.
I was sent an email recently by someone telling me that the name "Jesus" actually means Hail Zeus! It is strange, and I have not yet prayed for the Lord to shine truth onto it, but here it is. Read, and if you wonder, ask the Lord to reveal to you personally. I am just a person and as such can make mistakes. See below.
"Iesus /Jesus" in Greek IS "Hail Zeus."
"Ie / Je" translates as "Hail" and
"us/sus", the suffix used to worship the Greek "king god", Zeus
That is rather odd, Remember though... The Father see’s your heart. He does not look down onto you
At your mistakes, but rather he has a stethoscope fixed onto your heart, and therefore the names are irrevelant to your salvation. Demons have been cast out in the name of Jesus Christ...
I also refer to the father as Yahweh. God is also correct, but every religion has a God, therefore I use his name which when transliterated from the ancient text YHWH is said to be YaHweH.
Please do not think that I am saying that using the names Jesus Christ and God are wrong.
The good Lord will reveal to us what he wants us to know, when he wants us to know it.
Amen
Second part of your question.
Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
The struggle was between their convictions, which told them he was Christ, and their corruptions, which said, No, because he was not such a Christ as they expected.
To convince them that it was their great unhappiness and misery not to be of Christ's sheep, he here describes the blessed state and case of those that are, which would likewise serve for the support and comfort of his poor despised followers, and keep them from envying the power and grandeur of those that were not of his sheep.
Our Lord takes cognizance of his sheep: They hear my voice, and I know them. He distinguishes them from others (2Ti_2:19), has a particular regard to every individual (Psa_34:6); he knows their wants and desires, knows their souls in adversity, where to find them, and what to do for them. He knows others afar off, but knows them near at hand.
Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
A mighty contest is here supposed about these sheep. The Shepherd is so careful of their welfare that he has them not only within his fold, and under his eye, but in his hand, interested in his special love and taken under his special protection (all his saints are in thy hand, Deu_33:3); yet their enemies are so daring that they attempt to pluck them out of his hand - his whose own they are, whose care they are; but they cannot, they shall not, do it. Note, Those are safe who are in the hands of the Lord Jesus. The saints are preserved in Christ : and their salvation is not in their own keeping, but in the keeping of a Mediator
Therefore, When I say your salvation may be stolen, I do not feel that he who commits his life to the Lord’s salvation may be stolen, That can never happen. But rather, when the Lord makes a promise that whomever believeth in he shall not die but have eternal life – The goal of the antichrist is to deviate and take people from finding his promises, from having victory in their lives.
This statement was a warning to the non-believers, to the blasphemers, to they that do not know their shepard that the time is near, do not let your salvation be stolen by the lies of satan.
Lastly – for Sean.
I think that you must have meant to quote 1 John 5:12-13.
And that you may believe on the name of the Son of God (1Jo_5:13), may go on believing. Believers must persevere, or they do nothing. To withdraw from believing on the name of the Son of God is to renounce eternal life, and draw back unto perdition. Therefore the evidences of religion and the advantage of faith are to be presented to believers, in order to hearten and encourage them to persevere to the end.
