Since we do not know what tomorrow will bring, do we put the same amount of belief; energy into fear or faith? When things happen to us, things we do not expect. Things that cause us to question, everything. As in these verses, we can choose to fear; think we are doing something wrong. Or, use that energy to choose and Trust The Love we are given. Is the power behind our choices the same?
15 So then, brothers, stand firm, and cling to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by our letter. 16 May our Lord Jesus, the Messiah himself, and may God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good action and word. 2Thess 2:15-17
14 For all who are led by God’s Spirit are God’s children. 15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery that leads you into fear again. Instead, you have received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with the Messiah —if, in fact, we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. Rom 8:14-17

Chris,
I think that there is a factor here to consider. Our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world are all at different levels of maturity. We also can acknowledge that even our levels of maturity flucuate across several categories. Some are of these categories include eternal salvation, protection and provision. Thus, one could be strong in faith regarding God providing day to day needs, but be weak in the area of protection, or vise-a-versa. God uses many different means to lead people to maturity. One usch means is that the more mature walk with the weaker brother or sister during times of trial and this would include fear.
Very timely question and comments, brother.

I trust you did not think I was judging anyone, or puffing myself up. I fall into any of those categories at any time. I appreciate and I am grateful for your insight. I liked you last line, "...the more mature walk with the weaker brother or sister during times of trial..." So often we forget; I forget to remember, we must walk with the younger. And share the load, as well as what we have learned. Without coming across as prideful or judgemental. But, to walk with them in Love.
Again thanks Brother
Chris
