I hear this so much from people who have been raised in a Catholic Church. My Dad's side of the family was Catholic, my Mom's Baptist. When my Aunt came to visit ,I had to go to the Catholic Church. I couldn't understand what they said, I couldn't  take my bible , I couldn't take communion and a host of other things. So many , especially the ones who went to a Catholic school, have just completely turned away from God and don't believe in him. How sad is this. I was Baptized in a Baptist Church, but i visited many denominations. I was drawn to a full Gospel Church. The reason is, they practice everything in the  Bible, unlike many ,  if  it  happened 2,000 years ago, it cant possibly happen to day. Wrong !! wrong ! wrong !! The Bible is the same today as it was 2,000 years ago. The only thing that's changed is people. Now, your questions, Yes, God does want you to know him. He wants a very personal relationship with you. As far as the groups or the clicks, as i call them, that's exactly where they need to be, is in church. i know how you feel exactly. i stopped gong to church f or 4 years one time because of things just like this. Good doesn't want you to stop because of other people, but the Devil does. (i'm praying as i go, on this ) What i encourage you to do is this, find a quiet place, ask God to show you in his word and he will. Talk to him, just like you would be having a heart to heart conversation with your Dad.  Just know, he is your Daddy, he's all of  it. Pour your heart out to him, ask forgiveness of your sins, knowingly and unknowingly. I promise you , if you will humble yourself and just talk to him about it all, he will give you answers. he will back up everything, his word , through other people , in so many ways. soon you will be on your way. if you don't get an answer right  away be patient, just wait. It's really simple, but we make it so hard at times. his word says he wants us to have a child like faith, that is,  just believe in him and not doubt.Think about when you were a child, you didn't question your Mom or Dad , if you asked them a question, you believed them, if you told them you were hungry, they fed you. So don't be any different with God. His word says your earthly parents give you good things, how much more is your heavenly father going to give you. He may not give you everything you want, but he will definitely give you what you need. I hope this helps you and remember, he does know where you are, he's just waiting on you so just dig your heels in and get started. God Bless You !!

A person is made up of three parts, the Spirit, Soul, and Body. As the God head is made up of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. (Spirit)

Your spirit is the only part of man that is born again,  When a person is born again, It “the spirit” is regenerated in the likeness and image of God. The soul is the mind, will, and emotions, and the body is referred to as the flesh.

BTW, Jim, the urge you experienced the other night is, “was” the Grace of God speaking to you and was the wooing of the Holy Spirit drawing you to know Him.  

Also, Jim, My prayer for you would be that you will grow in grace, and peace as you seek to know Him.

Hi Jim, I have watched Channel 40, and listened to Lester Sumrall since the early
80's. He said the soul is the ( mind, will and
the emotions). It makes sense to me + is the
best definition of the soul that I have ever heard.
