LT,

I find these verses very interesting...

36 He also told them a parable: “No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. 37 And no one puts new wine into old rwineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. 38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. 39 And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, ‘The old is good.’ ”4. Lk 5:39
We all want to *drink the old wine* because we do think it is better. We can relate to it. The *new wine* is healthier for us, even though we have the old wine.  We receive nourishment from the *new wine*...if we understand...far greater nourishment than from the *old*.
The law has been written on our hearts. WE know what it says. Many times we prefer the law to Grace because the law is cut and dried. Grace doesn't seem so simple but it is simplicity for our salvation. God had given us so much when He gave us His Grace, but we keep going back to the old way....the way of the law.
We want to add things to Grace to make it appear that we have to do more than accept Christ as Savior. We want to insist that the law needs to be added as well. We fail to see all the marvelous gifts that comes with Grace. Yes..the law is good, and it is written on our hearts but the Grace of God and the gifts He provides for us is better.
Just my opinion.
Blessings...
Rita
