If I'm not mistaken, a person can only die once. Just like Jesus, He can't die anymore because He conquered death. Those people died, and then rose again so did they die again? If not what happened to them?
Those are the folk’s Hollywood uses for the zombie movies hahahaha :) J/K you all.
Matthew 27
52The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
The graves were opened, and many bodies of saints which slept, arose. To whom they appeared, in what manner, and how they disappeared, we are not told; and we must not desire to go beyond the written text. So I have no answer for you about these verses beloved.
Other folks that Jesus brought back to life did not get a new resurrected body as Jesus did. They were resuscitated. Brought back to live as some folks are today, but not resurrected in the biblical sense. A person can die twice.
John Wesley's Notes on the Bible say the following:
Verse 52. Some of the tombs were shattered and laid open by the earthquake, and while they continued unclosed (and they must have stood open all the Sabbath, seeing the law would not allow any attempt to close them) many bodies of holy men were raised, (perhaps Simeon, Zacharias, John the Baptist, and others who had believed in Christ, and were known to many in Jerusalem, ) And coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, went into the holy city (Jerusalem) and appeared to many - Who had probably known them before: God hereby signifying, that Christ had conquered death, and would raise all his saints in due season.
