All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Would make multiple discussions, but the topic is pretty much the same except a few details.

Video games used to be idolatry to me before I truly came to be saved by my lord, but nowadays I just play duolingo for the most part (look it up, fun way to learn a language). Do you guys view all video games as inherently sinful? Same goes for tv shows and movies, but I feel like they have less capability of being the "appearance of sin" than playing games where you are killing things, although some games are both cleaner and more beneficial than many movies and tv shows...

Tomorrow, I will probably go see guardians of the galaxy with my family. They are Christians, with my mom participating in ministry sometimes, and they see no real problem with it. What are your thoughts?

I think this is an area where personal discernment is needed and one must pay close attention to conviction and leading of the Spirit. Perhaps you can find some answers at this link http://www.blogos.org/cultureandentertainment/index.html

Romans 14 is a good chapter regarding the freedoms we have in Christ amd when and how it's best to use those freedoms or not use them.

Thanks for mentioning duolingo. I just downloaded the app and have already started a course in French. I took it in college. I've always remembered a little of the language, and the app is fun :)
