Why are people so concerned about what a person looks like?
Too skinny,too fat,too tall,too short...
King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

God looks at the heart not at what a person looks like.
I know the Holy Spirit keeps saying that...
I know God will help through any temptation...
How can a Christian block out when so many things are about weight loss and apperances?
For ex. I seem to obsessive about it. I have a difficult time gaining weight. Yet, if I do gain some weight I'll probably think I'm fat. I'm short...I was 4 foot 9 in 7th grade. I'm only like around 4 foot 11...7th grade was like 6 years ago. Two inches taller within 6 years....when I was in nursing in 12th grade Mrs.__ said I'm not getting any taller. :sighs: I remember in 9th grade a boy I know was at lunch. He was looking at my wrists, he said I look like an ethopian.
I know I keep being reminded of that verse...I just haven't listen too well. I want to ask Him forgiveness for not listening to Him. How can the stumbling blocks be removed though when these are heard so often; weight loss, calories, this is bad for you...

I think it's important to keep our bodies in as best shape as possible because it is the temple of God. With that said, I'm 70 pounds overweight, only drink Coca-Cola & don't do a lick of exercise.
I wonder if we look at those things because we are to wrapped up in the things of this world. It is very hard to not be of this world, we live in it and are constantly being bombarded by it.
I have found the ONLY thing that helps keep my on the right path is to keep my eyes, ears, and heart on God.
Start in the morning with scripture reading and prayer. Listen only to christian music. going to Bible study, church on Sunday, reading the Word in the evening. Praying continually. I have to keep myself immersed in God. Thats the only way I have found to keep myself from falling. When I do fall, I know God is not pleased but I also know that confessing and asking for forgiveness is all I have to do to renew my soul.
Look at each laps as a learning experience. acknowledge the sin, pray for forgiveness and try not to make the same mistake. You may fall short again, but in time God will teach you how to live a more Christ like life.
God made you and you are the only one like you. You are as individual and beautiful as the stars in the heavens. God loves you just the way you are.
God bless
Gary
