As Christians can we expect and look forward to a time when our thoughts aren't so sinful?
I seem to have a constant monologue of sinful observations/comments going on in my head and its grievous to say the least.
Is there anywhere in the bible that talks about the thought-life and sanctification that comes to mind?
Thanks,
Jenny

Jenny, satan throws thoughts at us. As we realize those thoughts are from him, we can cast them down and realize they're not ours...we're not acting on them. When satan realizes that tactic isn't working, he'll give up trying that. So there is relief from it down the line.
thanks,
how can i tell the difference between thoughts from satan and thoughts from my own sinful nature?
and is this distinction even important?
In my opinion, it is not important. We are born of sin. Therefore, sinful thoughts are both of the flesh and of satan...kinda one and the same at times. It is up to us however how we act (or don't act) upon those thoughts.
I did find a good article that might help: http://rcspiritualdirection.com/blog/2012/03/13/how-do-i-know-thoug...
One thing they mentioned in this that didn't come to mind is some thoughts are simply from learned behaviors that are still there in our minds, but as we choose not to dwell on them and not to act on them, they will ultimately diminish over time.
thanks so much for the thoughts, i'll check out the article too
Our service last night was on this very issue. Along with a devotion I read this morning.
My Pastor preached how we all get thoughts. He asked how many would want to come up in front of the congregation and talk about all the thoughts they'd had that day. LOL No one agreed to do it. He said we all get those thoughts but it is up to us as to whether we will dwell on them.
Then in my devotion it spoke of people who have trouble determining if the inner voice they hear is God or themselves, especially when the Bible doesn't give reference. IE: You feel God is saying to move somewhere but you remain undecided as to whether or not it's God. This devotion from Gloria Copeland said that is how God speaks to us. What we will hear is our own voice inside. As long as it is not against the Word, rest assured it is God.
