wow!!! The Lord does always provide! i can kind of relate to the car situation. we had a 96 VW jetta, my husband, daughter, and i travel all over and the car was breaking down piece after piece and one day we decided to just go look at some cars. on the way there i was hopeful and faithful knowing that the Lord knew we needed another car, so i prayed for one. we wanted a suv, a black explorer, and i just prayed for any running car. we get to the dealership and look at a couple suvs, and none seemed to be the right one or in our price range...we were sitting in the office and i look out and there was a black explorer that a salesman just pulled in. and i knew we had to test drive it, so we did and fell in love with it. and i had a strong feeling to try and get it. it was in our price range and we ended up driving off the lot with it!
Last week my husband and I took a trip to Colorado Springs.. Very beautiful part of the USA by the way.. High elevation, I was at about 7,000 feet, but I got accustomed to it after about a day or so. We went because of my husbands work...he went to work, and I tagged along.
One of the excursions was a so-called 'cooking class' offered through the hotel. The cooking class ended up being a luncheon (it was a false reprensentation of what it truly was) served on a ranch at 9,000 feet elevation, with lots of alcohol...definitely not my cup of tea. The drive up took about 1 hours on a windy dirt road...the guard rails were small piles of dirt along the side of the road...not too secure (truly that did not bother me...it was the misreprentation otherwise)
Anyhow, As I was there and they started serving champagne.... I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable. This was not at all what I signed up for, and frankly...I didn't fit in.. I prayed that God would get me out.. Keeping in mind of coarse, that when this bus that took us up, and got there....it was not going to be leaving for about 3 to 4 hours..I was stuck!
None the less....I prayed. It turns out one of the ladies missed the bus from the hotel so she took a town car up to the ranch....this was my ride back to the hotel. I Thanked God for that answered prayer.. and additionally, another girl road back with me, and I was privledged to share some of my testimony with her, and tell her about God's faithfulness because of Jesus. And about how my life is all about Jesus and His Glory. What a privledge. :)
There was no way out as far as I could see, but God had made a way...He had it all worked out before I even knew what was going on. Our God is an Awesome God!
My husband was saved a long time before me and when I got saved, we were both attending a particular denomination that is tied to both of our culture and our parents and grandparents, etc, grew up in that kind of church and it was so hard to just pick and leave for him but not for me, and I knew that there is no way I can convince my husband to see it the way I see it. I read certain passages that showed me clearly that the church we grew up in and were attending is very very wrong on what they are teaching and I started noticing that my husband did not care for what the preacher was saying and did not believe in his heart that what this church teaches is the truth but somehow God kept him in it till I got saved:)
I went to the Lord and cried my heart to Him, I did not want to leave this church and leave my husband behind because he did not care to leave, I asked the Lord to show Himself real in this and to show me what to do....Our Lord Jesus sent a Christian brother who we knew for a very short time ( I thought he was an angel for a while till I knew he had kids and lived somewhere, lol), this guy came to our house to do some business for a born again church, the love of Christ was in his eyes and on his face, the love and kindness that poured from this man to me and my husband was so irresistable and so hard not to listen to him and take him seriously. My husband enjoyed this Christian brother company and we both looked forward to see him every week. One day, he invited us to go to his church, he did not pressure us or make it like we are going to hell if we do not go to his church, he was very kind and wise Christian and now I know it was the Holy Spirit moving and doing things for me.
God answered my prayer to attend a church where we both were fed with His Word. Yes, I especially lost few close friends and still the persecution is hard sometime but with Christ I can do anything...God is all love and all so wonderful in how He answers prayers, Praise Him!!!!!!!!
Amen to what you are saying Sandra. Jesus knew what we needed and He is so faithful and compassionate, Father God knows best.
I love your question here about answered prayers, I think it is so good to always remember what the Lord has done for us and may we praise Him forever for who He is. Love you,
That really is amazing lol...I love how The Lord provides for us and gives what we ask for...He truly does make life easier for us, if we have faith and believe He can do anything and everything! Praise HIMMM!!!
Yes, i believe this to be true...it does build faith when we are going through times that seem impossible. since my husband, daughter and i travel a lot, i prayed to The Lord that He would keep us safe and to make the tornadic storms go around us. He has!! we have encountered bad storms, but some that seem like they would turn into tornadoes, either dissipate or just go all the way around us. right now, we are in a tornado watch and amazingly, the lightning is completely around this town that we are in. Its like His shield is around this town...I have no fear and I have faith that He will keep us safe!
LOL.....I love it! I told this one to Carla, when i was younger, about 12 or 13 my family in texas was experiencing a bad drought. we lived in colorado at the time. i had this helium filled balloon and i got this idea to write a message to God to make it rain in texas. i said other things on there and within minutes it started to rain!! and that summer they got a pretty good rainfall! it truly was amazing.
